  1. Very interesting....I remember seeing these very early artist concepts and it looks very similar to the prototype
  2. Do you have a link to the forum where they post the live-feed of this aircraft?
  3. If you really love the tomcat and/or the movie The Final Countdown, get a Century Wings F-14 model airplane. Absolutely love mine, diecast metal, optional ordinance, pilots, gears, swing wing...etc. The 1978 Jolly Roger scheme above and the Final Cruise Jolly Roger are my favorite
  4. Final Countdown was an interesting movie.
  5. lol I know some pilots run 3 miles everyday. But there are others that said if you eat a lot of red meat and drink beer you can endure more G-force....which one sounds more fun? lol
  6. Correct this model is the A-10 that Maj Kim "Killer Chick" Campbell flew (minus the bullet holes) :D I like to think of it as the condition of the airplane BEFORE she took off that day. You may be interested to know we recently gave her this model, yesterday she responded
  7. no problem, go here to view the list of A-10 models that Hobby Master made in 1:72 diecast http://www.hobbymastercollector.com/1-72A-10indexpage.html I believe the best one is HA1311 - Killer Chick Although they may be hard to come by now since it was a popular release and stocks are running short. If you are interested in diecast models, come join our forum over here: http://www.thediecasthangarpub.com/index.php?sid=03e3e221b81c6455d34343c35bb55945
  8. Hobby Master models are the best in 1:72 scale (even beats most 1:48 diecast)
  9. I wonder hows the pay like if the job basically takes away your citizenship. better be one hell of a deal for me to be declared as "non-existent" and to be on a base sitting on a toxic waste dump (or so I heard). I remember a very early on there was a case where an employee got sick, and they believe it was because of his job at Area 51. Since they can't ship out toxic waste from a place that "doesn't exist" they dump it not far from the base. Of course this was during the time where you can still see the base if you climb a hill....today you need a high powerful lens just to see a small hanger.
  10. lol so top gun was based on a true story...but it's classified...if I tell you, I have to kill you
  11. Rest in peace I believe the reason for the crash was because he, along with another F-22, was practicing individual intercepts. It may have been possible during the heat of the simulated battle, he lost track of his position and hit the side of the mountain.
  12. According to the latest news, the Air Force still hadn't established if the pilot was killed in the crash or ejected safely since the wreckage was in such a condition that they can't tell if the ejection seat was used. The pilot has been identified as Capt. Jeffrey Haney. http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/11/19/alaska ... index.html and http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2010/ ... ka-111910/ I hope he makes it but this doesn't look good...not only he has to survive in near sub-zero temperature since Tuesday, but before he crashed this aircraft along with a second F-22 practiced individual intercepts and were nearing completion of the mission when Haney's Jet disappeared from ground radar tracking and from communications with the other aircraft. It may have been possible during the training the pilot lost track of the altitude or position since it was at night and crashed along the mountain side (where the wreckage was found)
  13. update http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/11/17/air-force-fighter-jet-missing-alaska/
  14. Happy Bday Wags!!!! Hope you have a good one!
  15. Yea this movie sounds lame....a bunch of kids piloting UAVs from a safe distance. I guess we won't see another Goose die in this film. You mind as well turn the camera on us while we fly DCS A-10C, at least that's more realistic that Holloywood's image of what an UAV can do.
  16. That F-22 shot was taken at the Miramar Air Show, that F-22 performance was awesome. Here's my photo of the heritage flight I took from that show and it is currently my wallpaper.
  17. I took this at the Miramar Air Show
  18. Couldn't sleep Saturday night so I decided to wake up at 4 AM, make a 2 hour drive down to San Diego to watch the Miramar Air Show. As expected, Sunday's show still attracted quite a lot of people (about 150,000). Too bad I missed out on the "Twilight Show" the previous night (it was the only night they had it in Miramar) We had a gloomy morning so forgive me if these pictures are not as good as some of you guys have hoped, but the skies cleared up during the time of the main performances. Hope you guys enjoy these pics as much as I enjoyed the show!
  19. Just got my latest diecast F-22
  20. Nice model, I think Hobby Master's F-2 is based off of the hasegawa mold. This is the one I have, pre-built in diecast. Paired up with an F-2B I just got these two as well: B-17 and this 747
  21. These models are available in most countries, some are limited production so they can be a bit pricey. Among the top companies that made modern aircraft in 1:72 scale are: Century Wings, Hobby Master, Corgi, Dragon Wings, and Witty wings (listed from best to average). I like these models because not only they are made from quality metal, but you can display them with or without gears, optional ordinance, move-able surfaces such can canopy, rear elevators...etc.
