kinda curious how everyone else is mapping the slider button considering it's not a "real" slider. It basically has a front button and a back button correct? What did you use it for?

yea I do have the latest software, just installed it off of the website.

I love the feel of it but I was a bit dissapointed that the package I got from Amazon looks like it was opened before. Like the tape was clearly cut and then repackaged again to look like it was new Also I noticed that even after calibration, the X axis on the stick is still a little bit off to the left which cause the aircraft to start rolling left on the start of the mission - I have to set a deadzone for it. Anyone else experiencing this or is it a result from the "opened package" before. Also, anyone successfully map the slider button for zoom? Not sure how to do that with the new software.

Just curious what are the recommendations for the best intel chip for DCS in mind? Of course I'll be doing other things like movie editing but mainly want the best bang for the buck for DCS. I was looking at the Intel i7 4960X Extreme Edition, but granted that's $1K price tag. I think $700 or below would be a good price for the chipset. Any advice would be appreciated. Oh, side question: what is the recommended RAM for DCS as well? 16GB or 32 GB

As I'm doing more and more research on my gaming computer, my friend who works in the computer industry is telling me to wait for the Z97 chipset boards that should hit around April of this year. Granted I know nothing yet about the technical aspects of the board, but I heard it doesn't really offer a performance gain between the Z86 boards. But, it is about future proofing your computer because it can support N.2? Not sure what is that but I believe he mentioned is the next generation of hard drives that transfers 2x faster than SSD. Curious about anyone else who is looking to buy a new mother board if they heard something similar and worth to wait to get the new 9 series.

I'm going to wait till April when the X-55 comes out, might be interested to see what it offers.

just curious what type of system is required to run Edge/Nevada Map. I was planning to build an entire new rig in April, would like to get an idea so I can aim for that type of PC.

its strange when I go into the options control screen, all the save profile function is greyed out - I can't click on it. Is there a specific file that is stored somewhere that I can simply backup and replace when I reinstall?

I did a lot of modification to the key commands so it would better adapt to my joystick functions. If I reinstall or build a new PC, I don't want to go back and adjust hundreds of new key commands again...is there a file I can backup that contains my current key configuration?

I recently got the new iPad Air, I never used touchbuddy before but would like to try it and link it up together. Just curious on the steps on how to get it set up. I heard I need to buy a payware for the ipad so it can sync up. Could anyone tell me in detail what steps to take and how to set it up? And are there any good profiles you recommend for DCS?

kind of curious since I was planning to get an SSD drive for DCS, but I was going to install both windows and DCS onto that same SSD drive since it's big enough to fit both. Now has anyone done any real benchmark that shows a different between separating the two? One SSD dedicated to Windows, and another SSD dedicated for other games.

Hey guys, I've been out of loop for quite some time. Basically, it is time to build the ultimate computer to run any foreseeable high-graphics sim like DCS, or game like Battlefield 4...etc. I actually don't even have the slightest clue of what's good out there anymore, I've been using a laptop with these specs: i5 2.30 Ghz, 6 GB RAM, 1 GB Nvidia GeForce GT525M running on win 7-64 bit Now my plan is to basically get the best of the best and have to compile everything before Black Friday Sale I don't even know what's this talk about EDGE and if that will require more power, either way I need some help: I would like recommendations on the best: CPU, Graphics, RAM, hard drive, motherboard, power supply...etc. Basically everything that is needed to build the computer from the ground up. Hopefully one of you gents would have some time to explain to me what's good out there, the hierarchy, bang for the buck, what's more efficient, any potential problems to look out for. Thank you!

How do I get a true Hud-only view? Currently the Alt-F1 shows the HUD, a giant map and the MFD on the side, how can I get rid of those two? I know the map can be hide with the button "K" But I can't get rid of the MFD - or how about a way to downsize it since it's rather large. In DCS A-10C I can get rid of it by following this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=58428 I just need it for Flanker, F-15...etc.

Has anyone else manage to fix the huge lag issue with the Su-27? It doesn't quite make sense all the other pits are fine, except for my beloved Flanker. If I turn on the in-cockpit lights, it really lags (as if the normal pit doesn't lag enough). I assume it has something to do with the gauges or the reflection of the HUD The only way to play it now is with the HUD only view but then you have the map and the radar view on the sides. I know I can turn off the map with "K", how do I get rid of the radar view or at least downsize it?

Great that did work, I can finally fly my Su-27 again in smooth graphics. Unfortunately looking behind me looks pretty bad because you see two pitot tubes on the side and the old seat...etc.

Yea I know it's a stupid thing to ask considering the new Su-27 cockpit in FC3 with all the 6dof looks good. but for some reason it lags really bad on my system. And it's only for the Su-27, all the other cockpits looks good including the new ones like the A-10C, Uh-1, P-51...etc. So my question is, is there a way to replace the new Su-27 pit with an old pit from FC1 or FC2.

Hey guys, just trying to get back to everything after a long leave. I'm trying to find a list of all the key commands for FC3, it's not in the docs folder and apparently some keys has changed since the old Lock On + FC days so I need an updated list. Second question, is my install order correct? Seems a bit complicated: 1.) Install DCS World 2.) Install original Lock On 3.) Install FC3, delete Lock On 4.) Install steam DCS A-10C 5.) Install module DCS A-10C, delete steam version of A-10C And finally, what are some of the must-have mods for FC3 now? Thanks!
