  1. Totally agree here, this behaviour should not happen if there is limiters in the real aircraft. #FlankerLivesMatter
  2. Just the AI for now, we will be testing CA slots for GCI in the next week or so again to see if there is any improvements from the last time we tested it.
  3. Great to hear! Look out for more missions getting AWACS added over the next few days! This should help keep the intensity up!
  4. Not true, however you are correct about having a visual table to help with visually IDing aircraft, its something I am working on at present. You can at least be 80-90% sure... be on teamspeak with the other pilots flying in the TA, ask questions in the MP chat, read the mission briefing so you have an idea of where the enemy is coming from and where friendlies are coming from... all things that I do / have done when flying A2G in our server. Obviously without a radar there is always going to be some guess work factored in however its not impossible to IFF and certainly not acceptable for anyone to just start shooting at the first fast jet they see. No fast jet pilot worth his salt is going to overshoot an enemy Striker without firing first, you'll know he is an enemy if he's locking you and has fired at you! If he has locked you and flown past and is not shooting at you or anyone else then there is no reason to suspect him of being an enemy. More than likely a new player to the sim who doesn't know its just bad beans to be scaring A2G pilots like that. Exactly what you should be doing! Its not hard at all to quickly ask if there is any friendly fighters in the TA.. also if you see a fighter in the TA and he is not engaging you or anyone else then that is a dead give away that he is not an enemy. Even if he has locked you up constantly for a while, if he has flown right up to you and hasn't fired ... sometimes you have to use some common sense. My problem with what BN is saying is his apparent refusal to even bother trying to IFF and instead just saying these suggestions are 'idealistic'. I have flown A2G in our server for 100s of hours so I am no stranger to the challenges you guys face and I know first hand that IFF without radar is 100% possible, as I mentioned I also fly a lot in the Gazelle that has the same tools as the A-10C for IFF.. nothing apart from a RWR and I still manage not to kill any friendlies despite actually being where all the fighters are in heavy air to air airspace. The bottom line is even if it ends up costing you your virtual life, if you are not sure ... you do not fire! I've got a list a mile long of things I need to do however I will make the aircraft ID table a top priority for this week and do my best to standardise all the aircraft skins across our missions and post up some tables to help you guys out.
  5. There is nothing "totally absurd" about mixing aircraft on both sides, our server has been set up like this for years and most people who fly on the server do not have a problem with it, if you don't like the set up go and fly somewhere else, we don't force you to fly in our server. If I can IFF in a HELICOPTER you can do it in an A-10, trying to justify teamkilling people just because aircraft are on both sides is stupid. There is more to Situational Awareness than just reading your RWR and firing on the first aircraft you see because it 'might' be a bandit. I have never once teamkilled anyone in a Gazelle and I have over 50 air to air kills in it! There is also nothing "idealistic" about holding fire until you have IFF this is what you should be doing in all cases, you only fire on another aircraft if you are 100% sure its an enemy, not doing so will get you banned. A-10C or not, teamkillers get removed from our server, you have been warned!
  6. The AMRAAM B is just as deadly as the Charlie in DCS, there is not a lot between them at all. Thats why most missions without the C remove the B also, the difference really is tiny.
  7. Today on the 104th Server is SARH Sunday! No AMRAAMS all day until approx 00:00z Missions in rotation will be Operation Armageddon SARH, Operation Able Archer SARH, Operation Leopard SARH, Operation Firesheld SARH and Operations Bison and Backfire All SARH missions will be Aim7, vs R27R and R27T, Operation Bison will continue to be Aim7 vs R27ER, Operation Backfire will also be Aim7 vs R27R and R27T. There are no restrictions for the Mirage2000.
  8. Not for this round however we are planning to do a test with Combined Arms as GCI before the event to see if that works.
  9. When I came up with the idea for this event I sat down with one our Squadron members who knows both aircraft much better than I do and discussed weapon load outs, as you know I am no expert in either the F5E or the Mig21. I told him that I wanted to create a BFM event that was as balanced as possible and asked his input on what missiles we should use and we then settled on heaters only. After reading through all your comments on Facebook you correctly pointed out that I do not know all the nuances of the missiles of both aircraft. The simple truth is I was under the impression that the Aim9P5 was a rear aspect missile only, after watching your video I am now better informed and happy to be corrected.... this is the only reason the missile was left out, there is no other agenda. We will add the R3R for you guys and stick with a limitation on the number of missiles allowed to be carried. I hope there is no more confusion :) Edit: Also Lazy while we are sorting out the weapons, can you make any suggestions for Air to Ground weapon restrictions for the Mig21? What I intended was for all targets to be engaged by rockets except Tanks that could only be killed by bombs, because as far as I know the F5 doesn't have any rockets powerful enough to kill tanks.... what do you think?
  10. Thanks guys! Next episode is up!
  11. Because its a BFM COMPETITION, read the damn event description before you go on some random rant next time! You're more than welcome to attend mate, I will sign you up. Guys this event was set up for people to have FUN... it's not designed for the Realism warriors to take it super seriously! There are no prizes, no awards and no rankings... this is purely about spreading our PvP events to other aircraft and having fun in the process. We will consider adding the R-3R missile in as we do not want to be perceived as favouring one aircraft over another.... as I said, this event is about having fun, which is why it's important to us that it is as balanced as possible, and I'm sorry but with the F-5 only being able to carry two missiles I totally disagree that it's fine for us to allow the Mig21 to go up with eight!
  12. Yes sir! Sorry for the confusion, we can't control these things (track errors)
  13. mblackham got disconnected and reconnected.... thats why his kill count did not show higher than yours
  14. Yeah sadly track corruption has been in a big problem in DCS for a long time now, there is nothing we can do about this until ED fixes the track system. Scores were calculated through use of the TacVIEW, DCS.log and SLMod server log, not just the TacVIEW.
  15. Red Flag February Results Challenger Victory :cheer3nc: Congratulations to the Challenger side who fought their way to victory over the Aggressors by eliminating all but 4 of the Ground Targets and leaving only 2 Aggressors alive! Winners Air to Air Not as easy call here... 3 Pilots finished with the same Air to Air score of 2 kills each and survived the event so we had no way of choosing a winner. So rather than someone missing out we are going to change the prize structure so all winners get something! Congratulations to =RVE=Flame, HUNAF_Bonomi and TurboRUSH who all finished in 1st place! Each of you will receive any DCS module of your choosing, please accept our apologies for changing for changing the prize structure. In order for us to give you all something we had to remove the cash prize as we did not anticipate 3 pilots finishing on the top spot. Winner Air to Ground After some painstaking scoring we can announce the A2G winner by the smallest of margins managed to just outscore 2nd place and take the top spot, congratulations to... 1st Place mblackham You will receive any DCS Module of your choosing well done sir! Thanks again to everyone who took part and made this great event! Massive thanks to 104th_Manawar and 104th_IronMike for stepping up and doing the commentary for the event. And also thanks to the 51st, despite your low numbers it was again a pleasure to head in to battle with you, looking forward to battling with you again next month! And finally thanks to =RvE=Jman for helping us out at the last minute and flying as an Aggressor ... your secret at the start of the event is safe with us mate ;) See you all next month! S!
  16. Yes I will add this in for you, I'm sure 104th_Presing will also share in your joy :) Give me a few days and I'll have it added to all the missions.
  17. We've not forgotten about the scores guys, I will post them up with the server track and TacVIEW files later today. Thank you for your patience!
  18. I hear ya guys, although there is nothing factually inaccurate about the documentary movie Top Gun ;), removing all missiles will end up in the Top Gun style engagements. We will keep the short range missiles included for this round and look at doing guns only rounds at some point in the future. We will also help you guys out with the model enlargement and turn that on for this event, after we do some testing with it we will let you know what option we go for as its not something we have used before. More updates will follow in the coming week or so!
  19. For the guys that have already signed up... What do you think about making this a Guns only fight? Obviously Air to Ground weapons would be allowed however I am seriously considering making the Air to Air side a Guns only show. Thoughts?
  20. No it isn't, last time I checked you couldn't kill another aircraft with your engine... Its not something you have to worry to much about anyway, all rules will be explained in detail before the event in the briefing to the clients that are taking part.
  21. I hear you my friend. Problem is a solution is not easy as we cannot edit the script for just one mission AFAIK but we'll look into it. At present there also seems to be a bug in DCS that is making things worse with enemy SAMS locking all players at once and also friendly SAMS locking players when enemy is near. We will look into ways of how we can make Armageddon more 'playable' for Russian fighters but this may take some time to sort out. On another note thanks for your continued support and presence in our server, I think we have been trying to kill each other for over 6 years now! :D
  22. R-13M, R-13M1, R-3S, R-60, R-60M Added for Mig21 Shooter and MoGas you have to sign up on our forums not here read the Sign up rules demmit! Alpenwolf, we don't plan to host any events on Caucasus any time soon, perhaps this is a good incentive for you to get Nevada :)
