Made a return to DCS after a little break to clear the senses! I've started streaming some of my flights to YouTube and I'm finally using TrackIR after leaving it in a drawer for years gathering dust. Massive thanks again to 104th_IronMike for sending me it as a present, sorry for being such an ungrateful sh!t and taking so long to start using it! -
We have not updated yet however when we do once the update is ported to the release version we will indeed add some of the new skins for you!

This bug is still present in DCS. The best way to get around it is to refuel in multiplayer as a client, not the host! This way you will see that the boom operator moves the boom properly refuelling becomes much easier. The bug means that in Single player or as the MP host the boom operator will not move the boom side to side to connect, only back and forward, however flying as a MP client does not have the same problem. Don't have someone who can host a server for you?...Jump on the Aerobatics server and head up to their tanks for practice!

Red Flag - Aggressor PvP April
104th_Maverick replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Tournaments & Events
Official Results Aggressors take the win! After a decisive battle the Aggressors managed to sweep to victory in this round which takes the total for the year to 2 wins for the Aggressors and 2 wins for the Challengers! Initially, it was suspected that removing the AMRAAM would require more Aggressor aircraft to evenly balance the numbers. In hindsight this doesn't seem to be the case with the combination of flying with regular pilots proving to be stronger than anticipated. With this in mind future SARH events will no longer have an extended Aggressor line up and we will try to keep the numbers around 15 for the Aggressor side. And also to 104cdt_Tiger for his painstaking efforts in helping me with the scoring! Thanks to our friends at the 51st and SF_Squadrons who backed us up as the Aggressors! ACMI The TacVIEW ACMI file is available to download HERE Strategic TacVIEW Video @Axion while I wont burn you at a stake, I'll kindly remind you that we do these events for you... the public, this is why we have given away more than $400 worth of DCS modules to the Challengers this year alone :) If it was solely for our amusement then it would not be 2vs1 in terms of the numbers, it would be an even 50 / 50. And while you are 100% correct, in the past a larger emphasis was placed on these events because of the lack of frequency of them. Nowadays we are running 2 Red Flags a month and we just simply don't have the time to make every event as big the ones that came around every 3-6 months or so. With that being said we don't want to loose out on the original goal of giving the community regular quality events to take part in, unfortunately this month a lot of real world issues got in the way of getting things set up, which led to more chaotic event than normal. However for next month we will look in to ways of helping to organise the Challenger side better and give them more time to prepare. Red Flag was never meant to be the Aggressor show, the aim was to give the Challengers as good a fight as possible against a co-ordinated opponent that lacked superior numbers. Unfortunately this round proved to be too unbalanced with the combination of tactics and GCI combining to nullify the Challengers numerical advantage, which is why it looked like an event run for our amusement, as I mentioned earlier we will be changing this set up in the future so it doesn't happen again. We are starting to see more Squadrons dip their toes into event hosting which is fantastic news for everyone and something we really hope continues as the market for it in DCS is huge! Hopefully this means the public can take part in regular events such as ours and also larger irregular events that consist of more intricate planning and execution for clients to get their teeth into. Hopefully we will see you guys next month when the prizes for the top scoring pilots will make a return and we can figure out a better solution for the GCI than God mode. As previously mentioned we will also get the planning rooms opened much earlier and if required we will assign a commander to the Challenger side to start co-ordinating the battle plan for May. Thanks for your time gents, S! -
Red Flag - Aggressor PvP April
104th_Maverick replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Tournaments & Events
Thanks for taking part guys, sorry the preparation was less than usual this month as some people have already pointed out its just down to some real world issues getting in the way this time around. The GCI was obviously not ideal its something we are working on within the limitations of DCS and for this round we wanted to take small steps, steps that we knew had a proven track record of stability from our day to day hosting using the same format. We have tested other set ups with limited success which is why we choose to go for the options we knew worked. Just a reminder of what I've said before on teamspeak at previous events that these events are not about blowing your heads off with realism. The main priority is making sure the server doesn't crash during the event or we get any issues with warping and lag! :D So we are adding in 'extras' as we go along with the aim of getting closer to the dream of the old FC2 days by the end of the year that featured fixed wing, rotary and ATC programmes. This was a positive step despite it not being on par with some of the last rounds, we included GCI and AWACS for the first time with a full event without stability problems. Next month will be more organised and with a different (or possibly no) GCI set up, the sign up will be open earlier and we will 100% get the planning rooms organised on our forums again. We are trying to get a working Tacview filed generated from the tracks and the official scoring will be posted once they have been cross checked. For now the provisional Air to Air kills are as follows.... "SF_Farrago" scored a victory against "F99th-pyromaniac4002 #24" with AIM-9M!" "SF_Razer" scored a victory against "will" with AIM-7M!" "<51>Breakshot" scored a victory against "Batz" with R-27R "<51>Breakshot" scored a victory against "Croncat" with R-27T "Obic" scored a victory against "<51>Breakshot" with Matra Magic II!" "<51P>Scarface" scored a victory against "[sRB]=238.lbae=Falcon" with R-73 "<51>Rage" scored a victory against "Hatchitman" with R-27R "=RvE=MicroVAX" scored a victory against "104th_Blackbird" with Matra Magic II!" "=RvE=MicroVAX" scored a victory against "SF_MikeMikeJuliet" with ??? <- Please confirm this kill, error in logs. "104th_Mustang" scored a victory against "=RvE=MicroVAX" with AIM-7M!" Please can you post if you spot anything wrong or missing so we can adjust this for the final scores to be published when the acmi is available. -
We'll have a look at this mate to try and make it more realistic. We did try before and it didn't go very well which is why we settled on what we have now, but we'll take a look at it again!
