I have the CD version of FC, and I have installed it in both my pc at home and at work. While most of the time I play it on the pc at work, but occasionally I do play it on the pc at home. However, if I forget to bring home the cd, I will have no game that night. So my question is. Is it possible for FC and 1.02 co-exist in the same system? If both of them can be installed in the same system, I at least will have 1.02 to play even I forget to bring home the FC CD. Otherwise, I probably have to buy another copy of FC from NP.

I too have no problem with the diamond for stationary targets; but for moving targets, I just have a very hard time figuring how it works in real life.
-
Is this done through not setting the target in the mission builder? If so, how do you get the AIs to attack the targets? I guess it wouldn't be a problem if you are the only one doing the attack runs.
-
Is the target diamond realistic? It doesn't seem to be an in game feature as I cannot turn it off from Options.

Thank you for all your help. I will make the change and hopefully I will do it right.

This is my mission file. Please do tell if any I done wrong, and I sure that I have. TargetPractice.zip

Yes. The column is just a bunch of US tanks. Do I have to issue a specific command to the wingman to start the attack run?
-
I originally setup a ground attack mission for target practics. After I got good at it, and decided I alone could not take the entire column in a few passes. So I added a wingman; however, he refuses to attack the targets that I have designated as targets with objective of 'Destroy'. Any hint?

BFG GF6800 GT. I have one, and it comes overclocked already. On my AMD xp 2500+ oc to 3200+. With every thing high, and water, vis range set to mid, I'm getting around 28 fps average in a mission with two 25t firing missiles and 8 tanks on fire at the same time. BTW. I have the 256m version of the card.

Don't know about architecture of ED's code, but some codes, like the one our company sells, are multi-core ready ever since it was released back in 98. Depending on the way the app is writen, it might be very easy to modify it to support multi-core.

You will get a better shot at "combatize" FS2004 than making LockOn with open architecture.
-
First of all, that screeny is PS. You can't really use Aeye's pit for LockOn. LockOn's pit is not just texture, it has a lot of 3D objects. You can see that they are 3D object when you switch the display to stereoscopic mode.

How to re-acquire targets on the 25T?
BOPrey replied to BOPrey's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
My problem is at round 15km, the side of the route shows up as little moving dots on the TV. I think this has to do with the way lines are drawn. I am going to reduce the res to 1280x1024 and see if that helps. Other than that, I'm having too much fun with the 25T. A some what related question for you guys. Does the Visiable Range setting affect the picture on the TV? It it does, it really blows. -
Question for people have SLI running.
BOPrey replied to BOPrey's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
This really blows. The reason Nvidia gave in that article is not a good one. Is there any tech reason that for SLI to support more than one monitor even if all monitors are used for the by the same game? Also, how about Stereo3D support, is it supported under SLI? -
On the first pass, I can acquire the targets by way of scanning around the targets' way point. I can usually take out 3 targets. On the second pass, I usually rely on the smokes from destroyed targets to find the remaining ones. However, most of the time, the smoke is gone (targets been burnt out), and I usually lost sight of them or by the time I see them, I am too close to setup an attack run. Do you guys have better way to do this? BTW. I'm running at 1600x1200 with labels turned off.

Any one able to use 3 monitors for a SLI setup? I was able to connect two monitors to my 6800GT, but the fps is reduced. Is there a way to use 3 monitors with SLI?

If you turn the clock back 1 year. I will bring all that to Bangkok for you. Thailand is such a holy place, even the characters look holy.

Leafer, Not to put cool water on you. By the time you finish building it, it will cost you a few times more than what Ch Products' asking for. Nice design though.

I don't know when I place my scheme. However, using a little imagination, you can wire the potentiometer like this. It will show as either a x or y axi on the game port. http://www.ctips.com/game.html A few years ago, there was one guy at simpits.org selling pre-programmed UBS joystick interface chips for $20 each. All you had to do is add potentiometers and switches; you then will have 16 axies and 64 button controller. No driver need, it will show up in Windows as 16 axi stick with 64 buttons. All ready to go. I some how lost his link. If you google around, you will be able to find him. If you do find him, please let us know. -
FC would be much much better if every plane had the AFM. Well, waiting for the next version.

Can't you use a potentiometer instead? I built my rudder with a potentiometer, and connected it to the game port. It works perfect with my X45.
