Perhaps it does, but VHF AM certainly doesn't (and that's what you need for engine start permission).
-
I have no doubt that it does in the real world, but it's currently busted in the release version of the sim.

Yep, that's the one I was talking about. To me this is the perfect checklist. A checklist should be just that, a checklist, not an instructional aid. Don't get me wrong, I see the value in a detailed step by step guide, but once you "know" the process the check list only needs to be there to ensure that you don't miss a step.

Nope, if I turn on the radios before I've started the APU, then I don't get any response from anyone. I spent hours trying to figure out why I couldn't get a response to my request for engine start until I found a thread talking about this issue.

Nobody from ED has ever referred to it as a RC. I wish people would stop calling it that.

US$60 was an absolute bargain. Also spent $60 on HELIOS and $600 on a Thrustmaster: Warthog. Now I'm shopping for a couple of touch screens :o

If you'd have looked, you'd have seen it is in English. And it is excellent.

New SP mission: "Taking Out the Trash"
Bullant replied to Bahger's topic in User Created Missions General
I love the idea of this mission. I hit the IP exactly on time, locked up the two Shilkas and engaged and destroyed them with Mavericks as soon as they were close enough to get a lock on (about 7.5 NM). A little while later two of the blackhawks crashed into each other. Nothing much happened after that, I flew around for about 20 minutes waiting for the FAC to come up. I had a dig around in the mission editor, and it seems as though the "Shilkas Dead" trigger didn't fire, which is strange as I definitely killed them. Will try again tomorrow. -
I use this one, it's great. Note that you need to delay steps 7-9 (turning on the radios) of the Electrical Systems and Radio Setup checklist until after Step 5 of the APU and Engines Start-Up checklist.

So far it has worked every time for me in SP missions (not sure about campaigns, haven't got that far yet).

Warthog owner Eng Oper switch
Bullant replied to Succellus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No click when set to IGN, and yes they return to the NORM position when released from IGN. -
Yep, the supplied key file doesn't work correctly with the release version of DCS:A10C I was only really interested in the CDU, so I started with the default key configuration, and used the document supplied with the installer to setup the key mappings for the CDU. It took 20 minutes or so, but it was worth it. If I can find the time, I might set up the rest of the key file and put it up to save everyone else having to do the same thing.

Not able to use some cdu buttons as keyboard commands
Bullant replied to Severn's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Confirming that this is definitely an issue in Final. Which is a pain, because I'm using the awesome Touch IR+ ipad CDU, and it works beautifully except for these two rockers :( Any chance this can be fixed in a patch? -
I have remapped all the buttons/keys for the CDU, and everything is working beautifully, except for the PG UP/PG DN and Plus/Minus buttons. Is there any reason why they would be handled differently to any of the other buttons? I even tried remapping the +/- buttons to use an unused combo (LALT/LSHFT/q and LALT/LSHFT/w) in case there was some sort of problem with the -/= key mapping on my system. Still no dice. The buttons flash when I press on them, but either nothing is getting sent to A10, or it isn't interpreting the keystrokes correctly (not sure the best way to figure out which). Problem located. I can manually hit the keystrokes to get the other CDU buttons to fire. However, even with a simple single letter key assignment, I can't get the PG up/down or +/- rockers to fire. Can anyone confirm that they are able to get these buttons to fire by pressing the mapped key (as opposed to clicking on the button in the cockpit)? Otherwise I think I might have found a bug ...

OK, it took a while, but I got this working. Only it appears that the key file provided does not work that well with the release version of A10C (some buttons work, but some map to incorrect functions). Is there any chance that you have created an updated key file? Otherwise I will sit and manually create a new file, although I'm not really looking forward to that!

Ipad pit with CDU/MFD livefeed
Bullant replied to Ghost_unit13's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This is very cool, I just purchased Touch IR+ so that I could try out the stuff you've done. I mainly want to use this for CDU, so what you have here looks perfect. -
Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS Controls at Mission Start

OK, now I get it. And now I understand why I have to hit Pause twice to start a mission ... -
Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS Controls at Mission Start
Bullant replied to Matt18C's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Not quite sure what you mean. My understanding is that it should set the switches in the sim to be the same as the positions set on the Warthog. But you seem to implying the opposite? -

This doesn't seem to work with my HOTAG Warthog. Does it work for anyone else?
