  1. OK, just reading through after realising I should be a good boy n search! Just to clarify though, I can host a game and a mate can join me on Black Shark or A10? Ahh, I see, there were problems with ports but I presume it is working now. Sorry, for throwing this off topic. I'll figure it out.
  2. Yes that's what I always believed would be the case. I'll be interested to see how ED does things from now on. The second in the series is, I gather, a big step for the developers, not just because of the detailing of the simulation but how to keep this series integrated and compatible with one another, how to enable the option of flying each and every DCS module within the same program. Hopefully the quicker we all get a DCS module that allows these things the sooner it'll be that we'll have 3, 4, 5 and more possible aircraft that we can choose to fly in the editor!! :) I really would love the possibility of hosting a server so just me and a mate can play over the net, or a mate can bring his system over and we can LAN a setup. I don't know if it's been mentioned at all but would anyone have any info on whether this is possible? If it possible please explain what i'd need to do as I haven't learnt enough to even attempt online. Rarely have enough time at the moment but soon will have. EDIT. Oh! Really is it as easy as just loading the multiplayer icon? Haha, I deleted my shortcuts and only just noticed that. So how would I be able to let a friend connect to me over the internet?
  3. Rusty, you promised you wouldn't say that!!
  4. They make simulators with a a lot of promise..
  5. Ideally I'd like both available to me when running the program, somehow, most of all within the editor. I have no idea how and I say this without any real worry as I'll be happy when A10 is fully released and is standalone if necessary, just as I am about the potential of there being an update for BS with regards graphical features and other tweaks there might be and that being standalone aswell. BIS did a good job with ARMA2 and OA. The Combined Operations feature of both being installed to the same target directory is a nice idea and one I'd have thought ED would try to implement. No idea how, obviously. If anything I'd really like to be able to fly the shark within the A10 module's editor. I don't necessarily need there to be anything purely targeted towards what the BS module has within it, campaigns, missions and little images suggesting the BS is waiting there too, amidst all the shiny pictures of the Warthog, but it'd be nice to not have to quit the A10 module, go to options and choose the flight profile I want, so Black Shark along with the key configurations set up for the heli, and then go drop it in the editor and fly about for a bit. Or vice versa, not have to quit the BS module, if all I want to do is set the A10 up for a spin!! (literally! :)
  6. I upgraded a core 2 duo about 6 months ago to a Q9550 that I managed to get on ebay for just over 100 GBP. I got a second hand mobo off a mate, an EP45 UD3. Running windows 7 64 I overclocked the chip to 3.4GHz so I could have a 1600 FSB, running in sync with my RAM at 800MHz (x2). I also upgraded an 8800GT to a 460 and my system is running perfecty. I set my voltage to just slightly higher than the stock and it's not crashed once, temps are fine using a Megahalems with a Scythe S-Flex 120mm and a nexus 120mm fan on the sink, they both get great reviews for their quietness and performance on silentpcreview and quietpc. A ralatively cheap upgrade compared to i7/i5 stuff and I see no need to upgrade for quite some time now. I may go for an SSD but the performance benefit isn't as bang for buck as I'd like right now. BS and A10 perform really well, especially BS. Compared to the E6600 and 8800GT, which did well for their age, I have no problems whatsoever. I will be interested to see how A10 pans out performance wise along with the update for BS that will come around the same time as the RC of A10 (I presume). I have learnt to do the best upgrade for the smallest price over the years and have been happy. I'd push my Q9550 further if I have to but no need for now. Overclocking is sometimes massively looked down upon, especially in the audio PC world as stability is paramount. Really, though, now I have overclocked a few of my chips and know when I'm getting a nice boost without upping voltage too much or seeing stupid temperatures, especially when I know I'm using a great cooler and some nice 120mm fans, I don't see the point in not doing so anymore.
  7. Hey Kuky, ahh very simple, I should have checked the payments page or searched but thank you for the help!
  8. Thanks for the kind welcome! Just one question if I may? I bought the beta of A10 and I remember being told I would have access to the beta forum? Where is this part and how do I access it or am I missing something?
  9. Just registered on the forums after buying Black Shark about a year ago now but also just made the purchase of the new A10C sim. Often browsed for help here and found info that's been fun to read and also helpful. I have a great deal of respect for the crew behind these products. They really have accomplished some amazing work. Hi to everyone on the forums and I look forward to being a member here and seeing what's to come of A10C and, of course, anything else that ED have in the pipeline. Happy flying everyone!
