  1. Thanks darrenl. The issue was simply that the mission was looking for you to actually press the 'A' key to disable the AP, instead of pressing the AP button. I'll see if there is a better way to implement that step.
  2. The mission editor includes all of the necessary trigger functions to create cockpit highlights and monitor cockpit switch and indicator conditions (all of the trigger rules and actions starting with 'X'), however their practical use requires a lot of work with the LUA files external to the sim to identify switch names and arguments in the code. These functions are considered internal and are not documented in the manuals.
  3. Sorry, should have thought of that. You can do it by opening the mission through the mission editor.

    Thank you, everyone!
  5. darrenl, if possible, could you try to fly the mission again and send a track?
  6. Да, уже поправляем.
  7. That's a bug in the avionics, which has been corrected since. 130 is actually the correct heading.
  8. There is no direct method, but the easiest might be to hook your current position on the TAD. Similarly, you can move the TAD cursor from your current position to the bearing and range given by ATC, create a mark point at that location. Finally, if you try the landing training mission, you will notice the simple technique of using the CDI indication on the HSI.
  9. At least to eliminate this possibility, latest video drivers?
  10. To reset your controls mappings to default, go to your game directory/Config/Input folder. Inside you will see a folder for each controller. Inside each controller folder, you will find a default.lua file, along with one or more other files. Delete all files except the default.lua. Do this for each controller you want to default.
  11. It was a bug in the mission. You flew it correctly and that was the last step of that mission.
  12. I don't think you're using the updated training missions. Are you flying beta-4?
  13. It does seem like you are experiencing a controller mapping issue. Can you specificy in which missions the aircraft flies out of control?
  14. Yes and that fact is not just a nuisance, but the very heart of the technological problem. Also, besides the rendering distances around the player, consider the overall size of the map. We (flight sims in general) model territories the size of small countries. Shooters model islands.
  15. The realistic environments of games like Crysis and ArmA only stay realistic at their intended altitudes of gameplay - namely at the ground level. Unfortunately, we have not yet passed the technological hurdle where one game engine can combine that kind of realistic detail down low with a 100 km rendering distance up high while maintaing excellent visuals and performance throughout.
  16. If you look back at JimMack's post, you should find all the evidence you need for why ED has not moved in the direction of a "bubble" campaign system like F4's. We didn't say it's a bad system, but it's not one that fits the needs of our products.
  17. Ice is correct. You should allow the autopilot to keep you straight and level until you are instructed to contact ATC to get an inbound course. Autopilot will then be turned off to allow you to make the turn to the heading provided by ATC. Once the turn is complete, AP will be engaged once again to keep you straight and level until you approach the final approach fix.

  20. Hmm... More seriously, this HAS been asked and discussed countless times. Eagle Dynamics has historically focused on the development of unit AI and the mission editor as tools to create realistic and interesting mission environments. Both of these areas have been advanced significantly in the DCS series, starting with Black Shark and now continuing with Warthog. DCS: A-10C is also introducing a new mission generator system, which we feel is another big step toward a more dynamic and suspenseful mission environment. As you can see, there is a kind of linear growth pattern here and we would like to continue further on this development path to eventually build a dynamic campaign system or something close to it.
  21. Beta 4 includes the updated training missions.
  22. Are you using the updatedt training missions from here: http://files.lockon.ru/en/704/ ?

  24. This is how one Ka-50 pilot does it. Listen for the 'click-click' of the trimmer mechanism:
  25. No, the training missions aren't designed to track any scoring.
