  1. Since upgrading to the newest version of DCS World 1.5 I have a problem: I am asked to activate all my modules. They worked perfectly before the update, so I suspect (but am not sure) that the update somehow caused my activations to be deleted. Of course I would rather not re-activate; who knows how badly I will need the remaining activations in the future. Strangely, when I press ‘exit’ on the activation request I get the same request again once or twice. After again pressing ‘exit’ the request for the next module is presented. I am not sure whether all modules need to be reactivated, but I definitely think so. Can you tell me what to do? Best regards, and thanks in advance, Stickshaker
  2. Thank you, Cichlidfan! It worked, module installed.
  3. I have more or less the same problem. I bought BS1 and the upgrade to B2 but now I am re-installing DCS on a new computer and the Module manager says I can install the upgrade from BS1 to BS2. But when I try to do that, I get the message that I should install BS1 first. Now I have BS1 on my hard disk, but when trying to install it I get the message that this version cannot be installed and that I should download BS1 again. Now my big question is: where can I find the correct version of BS1 to download? I do not see it in the shop. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!
  4. What point are you trying to make here? It is absolutely obvious that the Gustav and Anton were numerically more important, and that there were no K-4’s or D-9’s during D-Day. No amount of number-nitpicking is going to change that. Whether you think that having these aircraft and not Gustavs or Antons is a problem is a matter of taste. If you want historical accuracy you do have a problem. If you want the German side to have more credible opponents – or if you just like D-9’s and K-4’s, like me - then you have no problem. There is no reason why a simulator should be historically accurate, unless it claims historical accuracy. I can fully understand that many would want, or prefer, historical accuracy, and I hope that someday we will see Gustavs and Antons. But we don’t have them now, and to me, that’s the end of it. Of course it is easy for me to say that since I prefer the K-4 and D-9, but that does not alter the fact that these planes are all that we have for the moment.
  5. Very interesting movie indeed! The horizon line is not collimated with the real horizon. Is that a characteristic of the HUD or of the simulator?
  6. Gunpods are in the arming screen in the mission editor, so I guess we'll see them on the plane one day.
  7. As far as I know, thrust was not only determined by rpm but also by the position of the 'onion' in the exhaust. I wonder if in later versions of the 004 the automatic regulator as mentioned above also controlled the 'onion', so that you could control thrust at higher altitudes to a certain extent without fear of a flameout?
  8. For some time I was afraid that we would mainly get planes in DCS that are already available in other sims. But fortunately that is not the case. So glad that we get the Viggen with its unique features! And I look forward to landing an F4U on a carrier.
  9. Thank you, Zeus. Excellent news. Now off to fly some more. Lovely paints, by the way!
  10. Thank you for the quick answer. Do I understand correctly that it will be modelled in a future update?
  11. Just made a few short flights. It's a lovely plane. Just ran off the runway once because I could not get the dragchute to work. The control menu says to use the P key but nothing happens. Does anyone else have that problem?
  12. Thank you for this quick reply!
  13. Do I understand correctly from previous posts in this thread that the wing guns are not yet available? In the loadout screen in the mission editor it seems that I can only select centreline stores (fuel tank or bomb).
  14. There have been a few Go-229's in sims like Il-2 and what strikes me in some of them is that angle of attack varies enormously with speed, so much so that it seems possible to me to use the gunsight accurately at only a very narrow speed range. At high speeds, to get the pipper on the target means that you are climbing quite fast. Was that an error in the sims or a characteristic of the real plane? And if so, how would this have been handled in combat (I know no gun trials were performed with the real plane)? You can adjust the gunsight for speed, but the guns' position would be fixed I assume.
  15. Excellent news! I wish you much business success with this plane.
  16. Thanks for the update, Sven. I hope that you will not be too purist on the FM. As long as it is believable it will be better than not having this plane at all. It'll be a sure buy for me.
  17. Interesting! I always thought they had both the hook and the chute.
  18. This definitely looks like a very nice plane. Will it have a dragchute? The FSX version does not have one, which I find annoying, even if you don't need it very often.
  19. How did I miss this? A truly fantastic choice for a plane to develop! This is a sure buy for me. I hope you will do other exotic or ‘what if’ planes like the Ta-183, Bachem Natter or Me-262 HG III. Even if not all data for a totally realistic representation may exist, we can get some idea of what it was to fly the Horten. And the production version may have differed from the prototype on which available data are based anyway.
