  1. Can anyone tell me where I can find which version (both Open beta and Release) is the current one? I suspect that my updater is not working but I am not sure. It would be nice if there were an easy way to keep track of updates. Thanks and best regards, Stickshaker
  2. Chuck, mysincere thanks for your efforts. Your manuals are the best way to get thebasics right without having to study piles of paper, and they are a goodstarting point for studying the official manuals once you have mastered thefundamentals of the planes.
  3. I would instantly buy a -B or a -C, but I, too, am afraid that the expected revenue for ED will be insufficient to warrant development. But it never hurts to express interest - you never know.
  4. Thanks, RB! That was the problem. I had looked for a lock of some kind, but I overlooked this. Best regards, Stickshaker
  5. I do not know whether it was already reported, but the command ‘open/close canopy’ does not seem to work anymore after the update to 2.5. Neither the keyboard nor the joystick assignment works. I checked whether I used the proper keys in theControl menu. The same is the case for the ‘stop engine’ command. Other commands seem to work OK, although I only made short flights without using the avionics or weapons systems. Best regards, Stickshaker
  6. One of thebest news clips of 2017! I wish you all the best for 2018. Your MiG-21bis is asheer joy to fly and the Corsair will be a sure buy for me.
  7. Thank you for your quick response!
  8. From theDCS Newsletter of 6 October I understood that airfields that had concrete runways in reality would get them in the Normandy map. After the last update I tried Caen-Carpiquet and Tangmere but they still have steel-matted runways. Am I doing something wrong or have the concrete runways not been implemented yet? Are the maps included in the updates or do you have to update them separately? Many thanks, Stickshaker
  9. Thank you, cthulhu68. That indeed helped. But contrast is still a bit too slight in my opinion. But I’ll experiment some more. Best regards, Stickshaker
  10. I don’tknow whether I am doing something wrong with the settings and whether, if relevant,it is already being addressed, but I would like to bring up a specific contrastissue: contrast under overcast conditions. When selecting Overcast in theMission Editor, when I start flying, even with a thin cloud layer duringdaytime in late spring, there is very little contrast between the runway andthe grass next to it. So little, in fact, that I have a bit of trouble stayingon the runway. On asidenote: were there no concrete runways at all in England or Normandy at thetime? I would expect bomber airfields, at least, to have concrete runways. Iwould like to have a few concrete or asphalt runways, for variation and foroperating modern aircraft (I know the map was not meant for that). For therest: nothing but praise. DCS is quickly becoming my favorite simulator.
  11. It is under DLC Maps, Normandy 1944.
  12. I fully agree!
  13. I think thebest thing to do is: depending on your problem, go to the Support section atthe bottom of the forum index and choose a category.
  14. Glad that the project is still alive!
  15. Well, I must confess that I, until now, only used the sight in the ‘fixed’ position, so to say, so without trying to adjust wingspan. So I do not yet have a solution for wingspan adjustment. Perhaps one of the hat switches… Best regards, Stickshaker
  16. Thank you, Rob! After some experimenting I found a solution that works even better for me: assigning the dimmer to the slider on the throttle of my Thrustmaster Warthog. I still find the sight not very bright even at maximum brightness, but for the rest the dimmer works fine now, Once again thanks for your advice. Best regards, Stickshaker
  17. Thanks, Rob! This is all clear! But how do I turn the knob? That is what I have been trying unsuccessfully. Best regards, Stickshaker
  18. To follow up on this: I stumbled over this thread trying to find out for another gunsight problem. I cannot change the brightness with the dimmer. Can you perhaps tell me how to get the dimmer knob to work? I tried (I think) just about everything: keys, mouse buttons, mousewheel….. But the reticle in the gunsight remains so dim I can hardly see it, especially during bright weather. Thanks and best regards, Stickshaker
  19. All clear! Thank you all!
  20. Thanks, Razo+R! I downloaded JGSME, but do not yet feel confident with the program. Can you tell me how to install the cockpit without JGSME? Do I just need to put it in a folder? And is JSGME a generic program? I downloaded it from a game site not specifically for DCS. Thanks and best regards, Stickshaker
  21. Hello Pato, The images of your cockpit look very nice and I would like to install your mod, but nowhere in my DCS 1.5 install I can find a ‘JSGME mod folder’ or a JSGME manager. Am I overlooking something? Thank you, Stickshaker
  22. I waited until the next update. All my activations were back for one day, then I again got the request to re-activate. I did, and each time (fortunately) got the message that the module was already activated. After that I had no more activation requests or other problems. I added the Spitfire with no problem and everything seems fine now. So, in the end I did not lose any activations.
  23. That is a nice gesture, BIGNEWY, thanks!
  24. On BIGNEWY’s advice I’ll just re-activate and hope it won’t happen again.
