This just proves why you should not trust crowd funding. When you buy product upon release you are sure that your money goes to the party that releases final product.

Not easily as older MANPADS.

Crescendo explained everything in his first reply. Flares have absolutely no effect on delaying IR SAM launch. As far as DCS concerned. As far as SA-18 concerned, in real life the seeker head filters out flares and other interfering background IR sources. It even helps you lock on target that is dropping flares, by attempting to filter out flares from potential targets. For more explanation about how it works read the document mentioned below. If you want more details about SA-18 and willing to translate from Russia, look up " Техническая подготовка командира взвода ПЗРК 9К38 «Игла»". So best advice, don't rely on flares alone to save you, especially in slow A-10C.

Still not used to differential brakes...
ObvilionLost replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
What doesn't make sense? You run engines up to 90%, release breaks and then smoothly add power. It doesn't mention anywhere that you must keep your engines at 90% during takeoff. -
Waiting for first discount on DCS: Mi-8MTV2
ObvilionLost replied to captainteemo's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
If Mi-8 went on sale after few months I would not have any problems. But sale price for Mi-8 makes sense though, more people in Russia for example would buy this product. -
A little real-life Mi-8 action
ObvilionLost replied to EvilBivol-1's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Not really any action but still pretty cool. Now you know what to do when you crash your Mi-8 at yet another failed landing. -

People who bought A-10C at day 1 got a prize, free Nevada map upon it's release. :) I hope ED did not forget about this.... -
Waiting for first discount on DCS: Mi-8MTV2

If their products go on sale this quick, maybe they should start sale every time new beta appears. Sooner or later everyone will just stop buying products at day 1. :music_whistling: -
Craziest place you ever landed the Mi-8MTV2

Civilian version would be great! And as others stated, working fan is a must! :)

Stand up and be counted all ye Mi-8 operators

Bought it and already flew traffic pattern and landed without crashing. Finding it easier to fly than UH-1H. -
SFJackBauer's Saitek X-52 Profile
ObvilionLost replied to SFJackBauer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You can actually change the default names in SST profile. Just open .pr0 file and change the name filed. For example to fix this profile I just renamed name='Wheel Scroll Down' to name='Wheel Scroll Dw'. So this profile will work without the need to actually assign keyboard button to Wheel Scroll Down. -
My WOW moment happened when I was scanning the area with TGP and suddenly seeing missile coming towards me. (RWR was broken)
-
No, and I'm surprised why its not functional. Would make sense to adjust RWR brightness when wearing NVG's.
-
It just controls the image brightness. INT stands for Intensity. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm sorry to say but FADE does not work. Know few ArmA 2 players who use not so legal version without problems. Maybe all games should use system like U-Play, I feel bad for mentioning it, :puke:. Silent Hunter 5 pirated copies still don't fully work. Another way is to tie software with USB dongle, but it will add to the cost of software. But if you ask me I don't want to pay more because of some pirates....

You know when it's time to take a break from DCS A10-C when..
ObvilionLost replied to HAVOC131's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
In traffic jam, you look for Master arm and GUN/PAC switch in order to fire GAU-8 :D -
39,130ft, the result can be seen here. http://img59.imageshack.us/f/dcshighaltitude.jpg/ But according to the manual anything above 13,000ft is enough. "Note: It will be important that you mind your oxygen supply. If it runs out and you are above 13,000 feet, you will suffer the effects of hypoxia and lose consciousness."

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
ObvilionLost replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I have to agree. F-22 and F-35? They are classified and nobody will able to make a good study sim. Due to this limited poll, I vote for FA-18E Super Hornet. If you find that landing A-10C is hard, wait until you see DCS FA-18E with it's carrier landings :joystick:
