  1. You mean the YF-23, the X-32 was the loosing JSF design. There are rumors that the YF-23 may be adopted as a fighter bomber in the long term but LM also has plans for a FB-22 bomber aswell.
  2. The Cobra can't use Mavericks. It uses BGM-71 TOW and the AGM-114K Hellfire. Russian counterparts are the Vikhr and Ataka. The Russian counterpart to the Maverick would probably be the Kh-25.
  3. It's probably a customised version of the Su-30MK, customers can basically fit what they want on it and to it. Recently there have been pics of the MKI in India fitted with the Litening II targeting pod.
  4. I expected it turned out Ok after they stopped coverage on the story. The only news worth reporting is bad news apperently. Thats the media for you.
  5. Yes, real time. I'm watching live coverage on Sky News. Landing due in 20 mins.
  6. The flight is due to land in Mami Int airport at 18:10 GMT. It has lost all hydraulics. Good luck to all the passangers and crew. Please excuse the typos.
  7. And when the JDAM-ER comes out, it can drop the bomb from further away again. Impressive.
  8. If the F-22 was cheaper it would replace the F-15 as they were delivered. The F-15 was also seen as expensive back in it's day, the USAF wanted to buy more than they could and served along with F-106s and F-4s for its first 20 years.
  9. F-22 can supercruise to M1.7 F-15C does have a latent A2G ability. It was only fully removed from USAF Eagles when the F-15E found its feet. Edwards AFB are going to start tests with the F-15C in the A2G role because the F-15C has very little work to do in wartime now and the USAF see it as a waste of money, today it's all about force multipliers. @ Fanboy: it was SDB, small diameter bomb, the GBU-39.
  10. Yep, 100-150 Eagles are planned to stay frontline till 2030. The F-15E till 2040.
  11. Just one quote from that, ''it flies higher, faster and further than any other fighter in the world.'' Further yes, Flanker is a close second. Faster, now that depends on weather he is talking of top speed but we know or believe to know that it cannot brake M2 because of it's intakes. Height, well the Eagle's combat ceiling is 65k. The StreakEagle reached 92k for a few seconds. The Raptor's listed combat ceiling is 50k+, that + could be quite a lot higher.
  12. I think the N is for night. That ball on top of the rotor mast is a MMW radar like the Longbow IIRC.
  13. A fully clickable E pit, side consoles and all, now that I'd like to see.
  14. Wasn't the roll rate of the Su-27 fixed in version 1.1. It was listed in the 1.1 readme IIRC. It said Su-27 roll rate fixed, the Su-27 now rolls slightly quicker.
  15. And the point in using the P over the M will be....................... Unless everyone in an online dogfight agrees to be armed with R-H IR only missles.
  16. Landing flaps are there and are now modeled correctly. The Eagle only has one flap position IRL. It's the Su-27's flaperons that are screwed up.:book:
  17. IRL radars have a greater detection range aginst headon aspect targets than tailon aspect ones. It's down to changing RCS and the use of different PRF modes on the radar to take account for the target aspect. As for loosing lock and then reappearing it could be that the target is beaming you but you do say that he is flying towards you. Doubt lockon even models half of that.
  18. Yeah, I was lookin at komplett.ie earlier. Good price for what you get with this card IMO.
  19. The APG-80 that is listed is used on the F-16E/Fs. Plus the APG-80 is an export radar and therefor not full spec. The full spec version may be fitted to exsiting CCIP US F-16s in the future.
  20. Quad SLi just got a bit closer. http://www.gamespot.com/features/6152217/index.html
  21. They are the same sites I use for my info aswell. I was looking foward to AM2 but some of the early results are not very promising. The Conore looks lot stronger. Being an AMD man I may jump ship to Intel if they can provide the right performance at the right price. But in saying that its still early days and it looks like AMD have a bit of work to do.
