Please don't tell me you have just typed that the F-22 cannot sustain a 9G turn!:megalol: Since when did the Typhoon get A.I that will let it engage a target all by itself?:doh: Any aircraft can engage in combat with the pilot unconsious, all it has to do is be targeted and fired at by the enemy.:smartass:

Under heavy sustained Gs, your not likely to be using a touch screen or pressing push buttons around a standard MFD for that matter, the pilots hands will be in HOTAS mode with their head on a swivel. Besides, the JSF G-siut is based on the Eurofighter G-suit. When wearing this as in its current form, pilots can sustain 9G with very little effort in keeping blood in the brain and breathing, moving your arms and head will still be tiring though. http://www.codeonemagazine.com/archives/2006/articles/apr_06/front-office/index.html I just checked the above site today for the first time in about a year and found this article on the F-35 cockpit interface.

  5. I have the 26'' version of that screen, got it 7 months ago. Well worth the money, I can't fault it at all and all my friends want one after seeing it. I bought it mainly for my 360 but it's great as a PC screen aswell.
  6. Anyone play the PS1 game called Soviet Strike by EA. In it you fly an AH-64, when you need to re-arm, you hover over an ammo crate that has the Hellfire and Hydra rockets in the right spacing to fit in the pylons. A winch came down, picks up the crate and everything clipped into place on the pylons and the case just fell away. It was cool to watch even though not at all real. For this concept to work in real life, all the pylons on fighter would need to be re-designed and re-fitted, a big job. Also all weapon mountings and lugs would need work aswell. Very costly.
  7. I have read that when armed with Sparrow missiles the F-15 is restricted to M1.78. Don't know why that is, it does not say.

  9. Its an old issue, ED knows about it. The Su-27 has the same issue with the leading edge flaps on the player and AI models. The F-15's intakes are variable but are not properly modeled in Lockon.

  11. It was 31.8C here yesterday. The hottest day on record ever for Ireland. And it has not rained here in three weeks straight which is amazing. So far we're having the best Summer weather of the last 10 years here, just shows how bad it normally is here.
  12. The MiG-29 does have a short gear for it's size, and the placement of the main gear has a lot to do with it. This is an example of why the airbrake will not deploy with the gear down, the bottom half would by ripped off. But I think the OVT, like the K and M have a different airbrake, placed a little further up in the spine like the Hornets.
  13. Thats was amazing, the fighter landed on the intake pylons, using them as a ski and slid down the runway on them, I can't believe they didn't break. The build those fighters well.

  15. It's the maskot of the former Pacific Fleet based F-14 squadrons. IIRC.
  16. The 220E is an 100 that has been modified to 220 standard with an upgrade kit. The 220s have 450lbs less thrust than the 100s, but they have a better performance curve. And just some new info I found out is that the F-15A/Bs have a faster nose as the pilots call it over the C/D Eagles. They have a slightly higher turn rate. This is because the F-15C/D have an extra 2,000lbs internal fuel, to return the CG back to normal extra ballast was put in the nose.
  17. Hey Alfa, I saw a pic of an OVT that was painted in overall dark olive green, it had the usuall 8 underwing pylons, but it was also equiped with wingtip rails aswell!. There were dummy R-73s fitted to them. Is there currently more than one OVT airframe?
  18. That was all IFF, IG. No NCTR in those pics, NCTR can only be used on the F-15 when you go to STT. The next logical step after IFF has been made.
  19. Would be nice to have Nitka in Lockon. I like the camo job done on Su-33 number 68, it's very nice indeed.

  21. The A-7 Corsair II ws called the SLUF, short little ugly f*****r. The F-4 and F/A-18E/Fs are somtimes called the Rhino. F-117, the Awkward Gobblin. AIM-7, the great white hope. AIM-54, the buffalo.
  22. Apperently Su-25 pilots call it the Rook. Again, don't have the Russian translation. The Tornado is known as The Fin to it's pilots, in the RAF. The Su-27 has also been called the Azure Lightening aswell by its pilots. In Israel the F-16A/Bs are Lightening while the C/Ds are Thunder, the 16I is the Hammer. And to really confuse things the F-15 is known as the Falcon. In South Korea the F-15K is called the SlamEagle. The F-15E is sometimes called the MudHen is the USAF aswell.
  23. I have seen the Su-27 been called the Crane by Russian pilots, I don't know what the Russian of Crane is.
