  1. Yeah, the AIM-9 can be fitted to just about anything and fired. From the F-86, AH-1, MiG-21, Mirage F1 to even Nimrods and E-3s. It's the most widely used and intergrated missile of all time.
  2. There was a Black Shark video posted on the forum a few weeks ago that just showed the Harrier and it launching an AGM-65. My bad http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=15887&page=2&highlight=harrier
  3. Identify Friend or Foe, very very useful to know or you will annoy a lot of people :D
  4. Can't the RAF E-3D be armed with them aswell. I saw a pic of one years ago armed with 4 winders.
  5. They may not be able to do a flyable AV-8B but a GR-7/9 may be possible and it has no radar to model (uses the same one as the early Hornets) if ED did ever want to do a Harrier.
  6. Where are the foward control fins on that test round. Or is a dummy with a live motor for test validation work?
  7. The Harrier is just a new AI aircraft in the BS addon just like the AH-1 and Mi-28. It's never going to be a flyable.
  8. The F-35 Vulture, it orbits high above it's prey and strikes when its not looking. Also about the F-35 there is a piece about it in the latest issue of AFM. I havent read it yet myself but it headlines that the UK are considering pulling out of the project. I can't see that happening as the Royal Navy will have no fighters if this hppens. Israel is also not happy that it will not be allowed to fit it's own systems to the F-35 and may also pull out of the project.
  9. Yet the Typhoon has them and is reported to have a very low head on RCS. IIRC the X-35s achieved M1.6 in test flights and i don't know what they were powered with. The F-35 may be a little higher, possibly M1.7
  10. Best bet is to keep checking ebay. I have seen them pop up a few times but I always lost out on getting one. Still trying though:joystick:
  11. Nice model, just one thing the D does not have glove planes. Only the A had them and they were locked shut later in the Tomcats life in the A and B models. They were deleted from the design on the D.
  12. The Med cruise was from '99. Didn't say it was new. It was just the first time the Su-33 ever launched a live missile.
  13. When the Kuz went on it's cruise of the Med Sea the Su-33 was found to have serious problems with it's Russian pilot did not know that they were there until they were flying a few feet off each wing tip. Towards the end of the cruise the amount of missions flown dropped because of tyre and fuel shortages, a reason why the Su-33 that was intercepted did not have a wingman. One Su-25UTG had a hard lan ding resulting in a damaged landing gear on the same cruise which is shown on a vid on patricks site. Just before the cruise 12 Su-33s took part in an air to air exercise, firing R-60M missiles at drones. This was the first time ever the Su-33 had launched a missile, it was not even part of the test flights!
  14. IIRC, 711 lost a tailfin due to metal fatigue while performing a display, the pilot was unable to recover it before it hit, the pilot did eject. The Flanker could have kept on flying with only one tailfin had it been higher and not in a high AoA attitude at the time. Sukhoi have said that their latest config of the Su-35 and 35UB will be fitted with TVC as standard as those fitted to the MKI which are more advanced than those fitted to the two Su-37s.
  15. Brazil was/is also looking into getting some Su-35s aswell, Sukhoi want the Su-35 to replace the Su-30xx series on the export market soon. They need a customer to part finance the Su-35 project a little further and will result in a more capable product for export and possible Russian service. Similar to the F-16E/F Block-60 project that was part financed by the UAE.
  16. A key requirement of the D is the 50% range increase and to increase the no escape zone of the missile, the best way to do this is to have the highest possible speed for the longest time possible. The Airforce want the longer no escape zone the most, while the Navy want the 50% range increase because of the retirement of the AIM-54. I think they may need to re-think the ramjet option of the FMRAAM and BVRAAM projects and try to modify it ino the existing and newer 120s.
  17. It was a symbolic 1 Euro as they could not by law give them away for free.
  18. There is only one pic of the 120D released, it has already been posted. The D looks exaclly the same as the C, although it may have very slight minor external differences.
  19. Whenever that gets released that is. The graphics will look really outdated by the time that comes out. It's over a year late already.
  20. Between 3 and 5 production standard models were delivered to the Russian Airforce early this year. I doubt they are operational yet, still training I suppose. There are also 7-9 test airframes numbered 41-47 or 49 that have been built over the last ten years.
  21. Its a smaller warhead with a smarter fuse IIRC.
  22. When is AA due out. It looked nearly the finished product in the gameplay vids.
  23. Half Life 2: Episode 1 maybe. Assuming you have Half Life 2. Thats all I can think of besides the ones you listed.
