Fellas... Dude ask about how the “game” jets are different not how the real Borts differ...

BOMBING RANGE s there a way to include a bombing range in one of the empty areas of the Lock ON! map? If you have maping software goto these coordinates to see The AVON Park Range in FL-US. This would be a good place to model in Lock ON! since it in a green area. RANGE ON MAP: LATITUDE: 27°36'18.70"N LONGITUDE: 81°12'0.82"W RANGE AREA FOOT PRINT: NORTH: 27°36'41.46"N EAST: 81°11'51.67"W SOUTH: 27°34'15.60"N WEST: 81°14'36.25"W

Okay whatever u say.

Ummm not true Every "new" Version of Vidows is a patch that you have to pay for. Whatever ED does regarding old code should some how be a plus for them. Meaning if Melton down in the back of the storage room is assigned to work on a patch for anything regarding Lock ON! ED should get paid! Even on Hawaiian Shirt day!:pilotfly: It would be awful if Melton was forced to burned the building down!

DUDE you have to understand that YOU are a small part of the "customers" base... ED has treated it's fans very well. But the Big fish are the Military Contracts... Sorry to break that to you... A $35 Toy game in a box vs a $35,000 - $70,000 per unit High Fidelity Training Device for active Fighter Squadrons.. ummm that's a customer worth going after... All of a sudden their are rumbles about Black Shark being Boring and Sh@t like that... what the heck folks? Umm Back in the day... Meaning yesterday.... Sims only had one player controlled aircraft... remember that? Remember when people would say that Lock On is not a true study sim it has more then one jet in it... Now that you have been spoiled by the great work from this group and their multi aircraft product some can't see pass the past! It's funny to read some of this stuff... Pure comedy! This by far is going to be the most detail sim to hit the game market since FLY! This may be the most system detailed combat sim ever. It's the ground work for things most of the community has been asking for... From the reading it's pretty hard core. Seems like a lot of wish list items are in there.... So why are some so bent? Is it because you did not get your personal fav Jet or missile in the game.. So trash it before it even hit's the market? Too bad for those that are doing that... You can diss it all you want.. It is what it is... all the b!thing in the world is not going to change it. ED should not go back to the OLD Lock ON code to fix none show stopper bugs... the game is stable it runs well and it's been out for years! For the most part it does eveything it claims to do. Why waste time on a patch when they have something pretty cool in the pipeline?

Well if ED went the 3rd Party Route they would have to control that with the Pay to develop type licensing... Meaning that if Group X wants to build the 29 Add-on they purchase the license to do so from ED at a cost... Kinda how the Licensing works between Electronic Arts and the NBA \ NFL. That means there would be only one MiG 29 add on developed by one company. That way it will meet the requirements set by ED. There are many different ways of doing this. 3rd party does not mean freelancing and no profits or ED. Of course this is just opinion since they have not made public any plans stating what they are going to do regarding add ons.
-
Yep this is going to be a great game... And this game has trees! Not sense Longbow and Gunship has a Heli sim had so much cool stuff... Av8r hit on the head... Stalking is hot! It will be very cool if they create a human controlled ground unit Add-on.. Goya... disappointment..?? Ahhh come on bro!! Don't be like that...
-
My Gosh... you guys and your gaming... always thinking the worse. Think positive. You will never know their plan until they tell you.
-
Easy folks! Not saying that's the plan! Only ED knows what ED will do. But It can happen. Please Remember Opinions are NOT Facts! Just Ideas that can become Facts! LOL!

NOW can we get rid of the Kuznetsov?
Boneski replied to SwingKid's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Guy Guys... why are you all going into detail about all this real world stuff... does it really matter?? If you take the ship out of the game you will not be firing the staff that crews the ship… nor will giving all of this detail about treaties and hull classification keeping the ship in the game and put bread on their tables… There are no people on the ship!! But they if there were… they would appreciate your support! LOL! It’s just a 3D model!! A model most of you like and what to keep… You all take your gaming seriously ... Gosh... the level of detail you all put into this stuff is amazing... Your Real Lives must be super organized!! :) Again, there are some smart people here on these boards with amazing amounts of knowledge!! Good Stuff! -
More then Enough! The Announced development concept was a long time coming... This is a great Idea. You have to look at the DCS as an operating system. People are concerned that it will take 9 months to make new add-ons. That is a pretty quick dev cycle. But instead of all this BS doom and gloom... you have to be more forward thinking then that. Think Parallel vs. Serial development More then likely 3rd party developers will help build stuff as add-on to this product. Meaning more then one product will come out at a time. For example, back in the Falcon 4 days ED was asked to build a Red Air Add-on... More then likely you will have too many add-ons... much like Flight Sim.. Meaning that without some sort of control excreted by ED you will have Company X's MiG 29 Add-on vs. Company Y's vs. Company Z's... Which one will you get? Camp One will support Company Z's MiG 29 add-on due to the fact that they model the latest DESA upgrades while Camp Two will think Company X has the best MiG 29 add on because it has the UB two seat version taking advantage of the Front Seat, Back Seat Code and has a better 3D Model. The future will give you more then enough Jet add ons. So don't despair! Multiplayer and version control will be interesting! -Bones

The A-10 project is very nice... was a able to to see it in operation. The developers showed a dev demo of it. It's a very nice training tool! A non Mil-spec would be a Perfect add-on for the new project.
-
Alpha is talking about the game... not that there does not exist a stores configurations based on an operation area. Because they do exist in real life. The Bosnian Loadout was used by the 192nd.

NOW can we get rid of the Kuznetsov?
Boneski replied to SwingKid's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
SK. Maybe there is a reason that the Memo was missed... but this maybe incorrect but you don't have to use any object in the game that YOU don't like as well as the nation the AI is using... SO if you don't want the Carrier don't use it... why lobby to take it out? Other people might really like it and find it fun to have it in there. Do their opinions not matter? The 3D model was built... it's in the game... the player can use it if they like... deal with it. -
Well at night in a fighter like the 16... non ILS or Tacan approaches you can land a little long sometimes :) Just looked at the pics that you guys might be talking about... maybe the anti-lock is not working on one of the channels on all of the jets all of the time LOL!

Would you PAY the People Working on the Ground Texture Mods?
Boneski replied to Boneski's topic in DCS Modding
Okay, Thanks. -
In a new product, Time On Target would be nice
-
It's a simple question... Q1: Should the Folks that are working on the Ground Texture Mods Get Paid??? Not by ED but by the hundreds of End Users that will download this Mod? Keep in mind this question assumes that offering their work for a fee does not break the End User License… Q2: Should they submit their work to ED and have ED charge and give a good potion of the profits to the Mod creators? Q4: Would you Pay? Would you Support this amazing work? Q5: Or should it just be free? "Simple appreciation can be rewarded with words like, thank you. True Appreciation of Effort is rewarded with much more" -Bones 2007.11.10

These updates are great... Not sure if it's possible but this package should be for sale or download via donation only... There is no way in helI this should be free. Many people would pay for this surely. You guys should check with ED to see if you can sale it for a few bucks or even submit the work to ED and let them sale it for a few bucks and you guys that are working on this get some of the loot. The time and effort going into this mod has to be rewarded! A simple thanks from the community is cool... but come on... Box that up and make some money. Don't just give it away.... POLL TIME! -Bones

Look up Falcon View Some one understands Detail...
-
You will still be able to Build fast mission in a future product.. the only difference is that you will add your mission to the flight operations list and that your flying will have an effect on the VR world if your screw up. If you don't screw up no body will even know you were there... just another jet in the VR sky. Kinda like it is in real life.
-
Bingo! That would be the most effective single change that any flight game could have. It would change how people fly. The Early Falcon games had the 3 Ejection rule... 3 missile impersonations and your Spine was deemed by the flight Doc as Jell-O... Welcome to the Oak Cockpit baby!! But Yes... Crash and Die... while trashing your airframe around the sky... bah-bye! Your Scores... ratings and all that cools stuff transition to a nice picture on the wall with a list of cool stuff you did up until you departed life... You can look at... even play your old HUD tapes.... But you will have to start from zero! And keep in mind... you can start where you left off... Down one jet at that airbase... lets say you crash your Jet while showing off and smashed it into the hanger on the airfield that had two more of your squad's jets in it... guess what... now you are down 3 jets... lets say that the fire from all of your fuel, hair and teeth you deposited over the field hit the fuel supply and exploded all the fuel at that base.... guess what that base is out of action for a long time. A burnt out reminder of your actions. But the fun does not stop there... let’s say the fireball kills some of the Ai as well... AI Staff and AI Ground Crews as well as 4 AI Pilots stepping to their jets (Statistically Stepping not graphically) Guess what... you Killed Yourself... Some of the base ground crew, staff and pilots. Turned all the gas into fire and smoke and trashed 3 other jets. Your actions have just pretty much ended all flight ops at that base, show-off boy! Do you start over or do you start where you left off? Might be time to punt and restart the simulation... Your choice... :pilotfly:

Cockpit sounds... Again Lock ON has laid the ground work in this area already. It would be nice to tweak the options so that people that want the "Hollywood Sounds" cockpit can have that. As well as the Actual sounds cockpit options. A new product could take advantage of sound hardware of the day. Muted sounds, wind noise, and comms/ systems make up the major sounds in a fighter's cockpit. A game could also simulate that environment. This next item might not make the small list.. But a living map would be nice. Meaning that ground objects are entities in a database. To keep this simple the break down goes like this. Side A vs. Side B Both Sides have resources that have a total value. Think Spread Sheet with a total value column. As items are damaged or destroyed their values changed from 100% to 0% This will change the assets total value calc. Subsets of the database could then be pulled out. For example: a side's fuel making and fuel stores. This total value will change based on the status of elements remaining active by a side. Kill a power station: The total value of power production is reduced by some factor. But if that power station is on the same Grid ID as the Fuel Refinery then that Refinery could be down 100% dropping the total Fuel production Total Value down by 10%... and so on for every element effected by that GRID ID. A new product will have to be database driven for sure. A database will allow for a statistical driven world control by manipulation of database values. Again that might not qual as a small thing... but maybe small changes based on a bigger picture could come about. -Bones
