Can someone please take a look at my settings, I've uploaded a pic of them below. I have been messing with this for a while now just to try and get the best FPS possible. What I have found is that as soon as I turn Visble Range to high, it seems this one setting that kills my 60fps. Does anyone else find this setting kills their FPS? And is there any setting I could switch off to maybe gain some FPS back in order to have Visib range set to high? Thanks!!

I updated world only recently from 1.2.4.12179_180 to DCS World 1.2.412547. So I don't believe it is still 1.2.4.12179_180. So are you saying that DCS world 1.2.412547 is an older version to 1.2.4.12179_180? Because that doesn't sound right to me.

I just bought the game and already I have run into problems with the message below? Surely they should make this alot more clearer about the install because it puts you of even bothering with the sim. I just installed the latest Module as far as I'm concerned because I don't see A10C 1.2.4.12547 installer in the module section. So what is wrong here, or more to the point where is the latest module installer? Thankyou!! Cannot install A-10C 1.2.4.12179 into DCS World 1.2.412547. Please download A10C 1.2.4.12547 installer.

Funny you say this because I felt the same about the P-51D. After the A10C was released, I thought it would make more sense to then maybe do the Su -25, and then say two fighter jets. At the momment it's A10C vs the p-51D vs the UH-1H Huey. That's ok for coops, but no good for player v player combat in my opinion. I also hope the news about edge is that it is nearly ready for release, before I grow old.

How on this earth do you get 70 FPS? Care to list your specs and game setting?

I think you misunderstood what I meant. I know there to be two versions of A10C. The standalone version and the DSC world version. I would like both versions, but I'm not sure if I will have to pay twice? Please refer back to my original post and you will see what I mean by this. Where would I get the standalone version from if I purchase the DCS world module first? Could I download it from somewhere and then have both versions and not have to pay twice? Thankyou!!

I won't ask you to list all the changes, but I thought when this sim was released it was suppose to be fairly accurate to the real thing. Now I'm left wondering about all the changes you mention and how it could ever have been classed as near accurate from the beginning, if indeed so many changed have taken place? BTW: Do you get training missions and start up procedure in DCS A-10C v1.1.1.1?

Just wondered if you can only play this Sim in DCS World now? It's just I heard you got better frame rates before DCS World and you could play on the Desert map. if you can what game would I need to purchase?

I see, but why doesn't someone come up with something better then? It would sell like hot cakes if they did. I know people are talking about this edge stuff, but by the time that is released it will also be 10 year old technology. I know these things take time but this edge stuff has been talked about for how long now?

To be honest I used to be for the eye candy. However, this game plays so bad at anything under 48 FPS that I decided to turn all the fancy stuff off. It just surprises me when you had games like Falcon in the 90's why it is so difficult with today technology to have both great graphics and a decent Sim. For me the game stutters at anything under 48 FPS and the difference at 60FPS is massive, it's so much smoother.

You say that but what about things like Combined Arms which is ground based? I just don't get why they are not scaled considering there has only been the same map for a long time now.

I just had a go with the editor last night and I am just curious why some things are larger then they should be. For example the infantry when placed near houses look like giants. I just wondered if there was a reason for this and if not why can't it all be scaled correctly? Would their be any way for me to make them smaller to make it look more realistic?

I saw the idea somewhere else and boy does it help. All you will need is a cheap glue gun, the type of card that is used for the backing of pictures. You know, the ones that go in picture frames. Some print paper with a sticky back and a little time. Use Photoshop to make your keys, print it all out and stick it on the card. Then just use clear tape to stick over the front so the keys don't wear and cut them out. Glue them to the keys on the keyboard with glue gun and your good to go. I haven't finished with the keyboard yet, but I have plenty of room to make more keys :D. BTW: Make sure you get the size right in Photoshop for your keyboard key. Then you can just copy and paste that key any amount of times to edit it into another key and colour.

I think the main problem for me is learning all the keyboard commands like in FC3. I have to say this drove me that nuts I ended up making a keyboard mod using photoshop and hard card. (I have enclosed a pic of my creation below) It's not my best creations, but it sure does help with some stuff and when I need to press something really quickly. The hotas is out of the question for me at present, that is unless I wanted kicking out of the house and maybe crawl back in a few weeks. I have one final question before I decide to purchase this. Will I have to learn all these keyboard commands again, or does the fully clickable cockpit take care of this problem?

I have FC3 and I was thinking of purchasing A10C. My only problem with this is that this sim looks so damn hard compared to FC3. So my question before I Purchase it is this, is it really that hard to learn this sim and to all those who fly it - Just how long did it take you to learn most of it and what did you start to learn first and then finish with?

Any reason why it's Lockon 2 and not Lockon 3? I know it's nothing to do with the question, but I was just curious.

I saw some text commands in the config folder from the path you gave me, but like you I cannot find the function assignments to change the keys.

Yes, I tried this and the radio commands have stayed the same. Do you think there is a way to do this?

Yes that's what I'm trying to do and was hoping there is some file I can change. I have no Idea what file to change either. Hopefully, someone else can point me to it.

I have just set up my keyboard to make it easier to remember key combinations. Anyways, to cut long story short this has meant turning my keyboard upside down and using stickers over the keys. Take a look at the pic I upload to get an idea of what I mean, that's not my keyboard though, but it gives you an idea of what I mean. I know it's a bit drastic, but it sure does help when you go to press a key quickly and your minds all over the shop wondering which ones to press like mine lol. The only problem I have now is I want to turn my F keys the other way round to make communications easier. So I have taken the keys out and replaced them..Meaning F12 = F1 and F2 = F11..etc. Only problem now is when I look in the menu's in-game, I don't see any F key settings to change in the game? I want to use the F keys in the order I am used to which is from left to right F1, F2 ..ect. So anyone know how I can make these changes? Like F1 becoming F12 etc? Thanks!!
