Since the new patch I seem to have more difficulty in shooting things down. Take the Aim 120 missile for example, in the last patch they seemed to have a good rate of kill for me, but now when I use them it just seems way different. I will see an explosion near to the aircraft I target as if I have hit it, but then it just carries on flying like it has never been hit. Seriously, is this how it is supposed to be now or is it just my game? The other thing in the cannon I will hit the other aircraft and it seem to take damage. However, when I look back at the reply i see I am hitting it and it receives no damage? Final question, but different subject. Can you use a medium range missile at close range? Like right behind an Aircraft. I ask this because I have been behind a target, locked him with the Aim 120, and he easily evades it ever time. So are medium range missiles named medium for that purpose? That you cannot use them at short range? If that is the case what is the minimum range you could use them up to? Thankyou!!

So do I use the Black Shark one? Also, can anyone point me to a thread that has the best setting for FPS and what to turn off etc. Like are the cockpit shadows a massive FPS killer etc. Thanks!!

I want to add the FC3 exe to my Nvidia Control Panel, but where do I find it and which one do I use?

I agree the map is what turns me off the most, but on saying that the price is still a bit steep for a beta. I wish I had seen the P-51D at $9 because I would have bought that. Unfortunately I missed the boat there.

Can I just ask if the Huey is their new model or is there a chance we might still be seeing a fighter jet anytime soon? I know many people mentioned an F18, but are the chances slim for a fighter jet so soon after the Huey?

I have just used the torrent download to get the latest patch and was advised to do a reinstall. I have now done this but my FC3 says it needs to be purchased. When I use the old install I download for FC3, it tell me I cannot install it into the newer world DCS and to get the other newer FC3 installer. Does this mean I have to pay for the game again because how do I download the newer installer without paying for it first?

The whole point is I know whats it's telling me, but which one am I suppose to do? I keep asking if I am suppose to uninstall the whole game or what? I have said I have the torrent already to go but which of of the three things you mention am I supposed to do lol. I don't really want to uninstall the whole game if it can be helped, but if you just say that is what I'll have to to do then so be it. Will I also lose FC3 I purchased after the uninstall or do I just have to reinstall it using serial key?

So if I uninstall do I lose the FC3 game I bought? I purchased it online so will I need my serial keys and all again?

So why is it telling me "You can Repair DCS World or "Update DCS WORLD menu items" if it wants me to uninstall everything? Sorry, but I'm still clueless as to what I am suppose to do. Am I suppose to uninstall the whole thing? Repair whatever and Update whatever menus it's talking about? Jeez.. I'm used to installing things but this is taking the biscuit. Will I also lose my FC3 game I bought online if I do have to uninstall all this?

I wish they would make things a little clearer with the new install when you are patching this game. I just download torrent rather then update through the menu, but when I try to install I get the message that it is already installed and I cannot install to same folder because addons may stop working. Then goes onto say "You can repair or update DCS world menu items." WHAT? I just pressed ok but nothing happens and with no info on how to install this anywhere I'm stumped. Can someone tell me what I'm supposed to do? Thankyou!!

There is non flyable aircraft in the game if that's what you mean and lots of them as far as I am aware.

What I would like to know is if you do this would it screw up your game when a new patch comes along? Does Modman work in this game anymore?

How much lagg do you get for creating these massive fires? FPS drop?

I am starting to think that myself after experiencing something else. I just asked ATC to land at a runway and they gave me the go ahead. Then just as I lined up with the runway they told me it wasn't clear and to go around. Fair enough if there had been anything on the runway, but there wasn't and I landed in anycase lol.

Thankyou for replies they suddenly made me realize I have to use both ATC and HSI combined. So basically what I do now is call ATC and ask for inbound. Once they give me this I quickly cycle through the ILS Nav points to give me the same miles and direction. Would you say this is right or should I just use the HSI and the ATC?

I am stuck on something and it may just be something really simple to someone else. I am quite new to this so forgive me if it's so obvious what to do. When I am ready for choosing a runway to land at I have normally just found the nearest one using the ILS and just headed there hoping I see a runway to land on. Obviously, I don't want to do this so then I tried using the ATC to land me at the runway of my choice, I thought it would be so easy. I call ATC and ask for Azimuth and am told "ATC Batumi ADF your heading 225." Okay, I'll do that I think, but first of what is ADF? And I presume ATC is asking me to come to a heading of 255 to reach my destination? The problem with this is that nothing matches up when I look on the ILS, and I'm not sure if this is because it's totally separate when using ATC to get you to the runway? I then ask ATC for inbound since nothing makes sense to me at this point. ATC tells me to "fly heading 225 for 80 QFE 29.69 runway 13 to pattern altitude - WHAT? So I fly to a heading what I think is 225, but how am I to know when I have done 80 miles because the ILS is reading something completely different? Am I suppose to guess when I have done 80 miles or will the tower contact me when I have? And what is QFE and pattern to runway suppose to mean? I would really appreciate someone giving me a heads up here because I cannot work this out. Either that or point me to a very simple tutorial. Also, does 03, 04 etc mean 30, 40 and 10 been 100?

I cannot wait to fly over that map where everything seems so nicely placed. I just hope the wait isn't going to be to long and we are talking weeks and months.

Where does it say in that Youtube video that we will have this in the next patch? Or is there a link to the new patch notes?

Nevada Map on hold? I am really confused about this Nevada map and if it is ever going to happen. I have seen very few screen shots of the map and yet loads written about it in these forums. Now I have just read somewhere that it is on hold, but this seems to come from people who don't appear to have seen anymore then the rest of use. I also wonder why the guys making it don't ever give any updates on it or post any new screen shots. Does anyone here really knows whats going on with it and if we will ever see it? I like this sim and all that, but I feel it is let down by the same terrain that we seem to have had for a life time now. Why carn't we atleast have the option to have the old A10 desert map just for a breather from this one? Would it be to difficult to even change the colors on the map and turn it into something that looks a bit different?

So when is it out? Do they only announce a plane once they have it ready for release, or when they are about to start building it?

But isn't there a desert map for the A10 Warthog? I have see youtube videos of that flying in the desert.

I have just purchased FC3 and have to say I'm not enjoying the map it's currently on. The building in the hills look so out of place and I am just wondering if I can download a map from somewhere. I think someone mentioned a desert map, but I haven't been here for ages and they were talking about that back then.
