  1. Not sure why you couldn't contact the tower. When you re-arm though, you need to reload the DSMS data through the MFD in order to reset the weapon stores (or so I've had to do in the past, correct me if I'm wrong!).
  2. Yeah, which I'm not a part of =\ Having to buy in to the sub program isn't worth it just to make DCS terrain, heh. I only upgrade every few years, so I don't think the cost of joining it is worth it.
  3. Are there plans to update these tools at all to work with newer versions of 3dsmax? I've upgraded to 2012 recently but I'd love to work on some terrain stuff. Sadly, Autodesk doesn't let you back down on revisions even when you buy a new version =\
  4. heh, nice bot. :spam_laser:
  5. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=69085&page=2 First two missions of The Shore, fixed. However, the third (recon mission) is completey fubar. The radio commands never show in the menu, so you can't complete it. Guess we have to wait on a patch for that.
  6. I think the cities have adequate detail, but I agree with the terrain. It's absurdly low poly most everywhere.
  7. Not really. Film is one thing. But if you play two games side by side one at 30 and one at 60, you can easily see the difference. 30 is by no means horrible (95% of all console games run at 30fps), but 60fps gives you a fluidity and snap to the controls that really can't be beat. It's definitely the butter zone if you want the ultimate experience. Anything beyond 60 is pointless though.
  8. It looks like you are having the same issue I was. You need to have DTS mode set on the hud, which you don't. Next to the distance setting your hud says 11300 instead of DTS. From Warrior: After that your CCRP calcs should work fine. **EDIT** Looks like Warrior beat me to it by a few seconds ;)
  9. I'm interested, but it depends on price.
  10. Hey CD, is there any word on the Steam-compatible version yet?
  11. 30fps? I'd like 60fps at least. Either way, I'd definitely love to see more graphical updates to the series. If ED is looking for a new employee *cough* I'm available *cough* ;) Definitely looking forward to future products regardless.
  12. Ah hah! Thanks :D
  13. I'd like to see one for CDU and midair refueling. I know I have issues where I get confused, having set a SPI set somewhere, then I can't get it to lock back in to the steerpoint SPI without changing steerpoints back and forth. Just clearer definitions and processes would be awesome :)
  14. @Batou - if you need any help making structures or the like, give me a shout. More than willing to help. I need some time to look over the documentation about exporting and such. Hopefully the A10 tools are released soon.
  15. Same here, ClearDark. Since I own the Steam version I'm willing to help with anything you need to make it compatible :)
  16. You don't have to play it as a full bore sim, you know. I certainly don't. I play with full flight model and realism, but I use shortcuts. Using the right Windows key + home will do the entire start-up procedure for you. Likewise, right Win + End will do the entire shutdown procedure. My idea of fun isn't pressing 100 buttons and switches just to get moving. As for the level turns, it just sounds like you're not doing it right. You don't rotate the plane and yank back on the stick. It's a level turn for a reason. You bank, pull slightly on the stick and then counter-turn with the rudder to keep the altitude pipper leveled at 0. You get a nice quick, smooth turn with no speed or altitude loss. If that's all still too much for you, you can enable the two "game" modes in the options panel for flight model and avionics. Or better yet, just choose the overall game setting. The great thing about this game and in fact, all of ED's titles, is the massive scalability of them. You can play them however you like.
  17. It's not just about bigger explosions or more particles in the explosions. It's the artwork involved. Mediocre textures and simple scripting result in simple looking explosions. You can make a really nice looking explosion with minimal particles and small textures, you just need to do it right. That being said I really would like to see some better looking explosions. :)
  18. I thought it was already modeled really well in FC/FC2, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy a strictly SU-25 variant of DCS :)
  19. not nearly as fancy as others: Just got my Cougar MFD's today - what a difference they make! :D Right now I'm just waiting on HawgTouch to support the STEAM version of A-10C, then I'll be all set.
  20. In this folder: Bazar\A-10C\Model\Textures there should be a ZIP filed called A-10C-CPT-TEXTURES.zip In there, you'll find the panel and other A-10 textures (DDS and TGA formats).
  21. I think there's a bug with the system, TBH. I've gone in and set my GBU-12's to be CCRP, 10s las time and laser on, saved the profile and then when I tried to use the weapon, the laser never fired. Check the profile - back to defaults. Not sure how it happens. It's even reset some times after double-checking them. But it doesn't happen all that often and it seems totally random. Still annoying when I get down to that last GBU and it doesn't lase :'(
  22. Yeah I learned that early on as well. The Maverick is just too slow and shaky to get locks in a fast manner. I've been using the TGP set SPI then slewing the mav to SPI for a while now, works great.
  23. Awesome, just what I was looking for :) Thanks Peter!
  24. Why's that? Tech info being classified?
