  1. blow up all the cars parked nearby the house first then the house. Then there is no need to chase the fleeing car. This is how I did it anyway.
  2. The best way to learn cold startup procedures (worked for me anyway)... I made a video using fraps of the cold "fast startup" tuturial. I then put the video on a laptop and watch it as I practiced my cold startup procedures in game (the great thing about video vs. the actual tutorial is that you can pause/rewind/replay). After about 5 iterations, I have become proficient in cold statup procedures.....
  3. Yes, don't forget to set your targeting mode to A2A tracking mode. In your screenshot, it looks like the proximity switch for the missile was set to explode nearby the target instead of direct hit.
  4. I don't know how anyone can make such assessments when much of the capabilities and technologies of this fighter is classified.
  5. Have you tried deleting the default setting through the simulator and reassigning the slider to the collective?
  6. Do you have the collective set via Logitech Profiler or via the game itself? I have a Logitech and I have the collective set via the game itself, not the Logitech Profiler and it works just fine.
  7. I doubt that they would make two versions (lefty and righty) of HOTAS in a real military fixed/rotary craft so probably not for PC gaming joysticks either. Maybe I'm wrong.
  8. No, it's just a screenshot from one of the missions in BS. I lit this Apache up with my cannons but he didn't go down. His wingman shot me down before I could finish the job.
  9. Ah-64A an also A-10C are welcome too! I voted for Longbow before realizing much of it's still classified. If I had known, I would have voted for the Apache 64A instead! I need the study sim to be as accurate as possible......no guess work!
  10. I disagree. Nothing including LB2 can touch DCS:BS imo. Everyone talks about dynamic campaign this and that but every dynamic campaign mission I've ever played seem so repetitive. A well scripted mission is much more immersive and full of surprises than computer generated dynamic campaign mission. Ultimately, a computer generated mission will not be able to match a well thought out scripted mission.
  11. That's hilarious. I just tried this and the door indeed did close when I picked up airspeed. The level of detail of the physics is modeling in this simulator is unreal!
  12. That explains it. Thanks!
  13. Sorry if the answer to my question is right in front of my nose without me noticing it. I've been using C - RCtrl to close cockpit door. Now I want to use the appropriate cockpit switch/lever/button to do this but I cannot find it anywhere in the manual. I tried following the startup tutorial track also but I didn't notice any buttons/switches/levers being toggled to close the door......it seemed to close the door when Rotor Brakes are disengaged but it's not working for me.. Help appreciated. Thanks.
  14. I go further back. I was a proud owner of an Orchid 3D card (voodoo 1). I rocked in Quake MP with it and many were jealous of me in LAN parties. LOL
  15. Is it still too expensive even if you buy it from a place like Amazon.com? Can't you order it from Amazon even if you're in Korea? http://www.amazon.com/TrackIR-Head-Tracker-Including-Vector-PC/dp/B000DZDFKE/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1230697645&sr=8-11
  16. I could have sworn I saw a KA-50 do a roll but can't find it. It can loop though....
  17. I can do all of that with my collective pitch RC helicopter. Heck, I can even fly inverted and do ping pongs. LOL.
  18. You don't need no stinking i7 processor. You can run it with 486! It looks like you'll still need 2 Gigs of ram though. LOL
  19. I have similar specs as you and I have everything set to max except water and my framerates are anywhere between 18 fps - 60 fps (I have my graphics synched to monitor refresh so it can't go beyond 60 fps). I would say there is some other issue you are having.
  20. Does MS FF reset trim work properly in missions you start in the air like Instant Action? You can check this by: 1. starting instant action 2. press Rctrl-Enteer 3. press reset trim 4. see if the reset trim really reset to the center of your joystick (where the two lines cross) I noticed at least for my Logitech FF joystick, reset trim function does not work properly when FF enabled on any non-coldstart missions (such as Instant Action). Cold start missions are ok and reset trim works fine in those even when Force feedack is enabled. To remedy the problem with missions that start in the air, I had to disable force feedback in Producer.cfg.
  21. Ditto that. This is the most photorealistic cockpit I've seen in any simulator. I don't see what any higher resolution would do besides degrade framerates.
  22. Very welcome ericinexile.
  23. With the CPU overclocked, you might get stable performance in some applications but not others. The way to really find out is to run something like Stress Prime for 24 hours. If you have 0 errors, then your overlock should be solid. http://sp2004.fre3.com/download.htm
  24. Are you overclocking? If so, go back to stock settings and try again.
  25. On busy scenarios, I see jumps from 18 fps to 24 fps without the mirrors.
