cool. I saw a 128 gb for a little over 230 bucks at newegg. I will experiment. Thanks. -
That's it, I am Cancelling My Subscription to PC Gamer!

I'm ok with the 82%. What I'm not agreeing with Tim Stone is the fact that he cited things like dense manual and steep learning curve as a "low". As I've said earlier, a dense manual and steep learning curve is expected in a study sim so that shouldn't be counted as a low if the reviewer knows what they are talking about. This is why I think Tim Stone is clueless. I agree that this is PC Gamer catering to mainly game players and not hard core simulator pilots.... ......which is why I've had it and going to cancel. :) -

Huh? I don't understand what you mean. Why is it absurd about cancelling a magazine because they write bad reviews? Also, I don't get the part about "made up your mind in regard to Black Shark". What do you mean by that? -
I'm not 100% sure but are you locking your target first then pressing f8?

Well, then maybe perhaps a review should not have been done at all? Coming from a gamer magazine or not, if the review is far from accurate, then I don't think it's reasonable at all. -

What does their standing policy have to do with reporting the DRM as a "low"? Reporting it is one thing but implying as if it's hindering the game in some way is not accurate. BTW, where in my post does it say that this review influenced my purchasing decision? LOL -
Tim Stone of PC Gamer needs to get a clue before accepting the job as a flight simulation reviewer at PC Gamer. He scored DCS:BS an 82%. Now, I know that's not a low score by PC Gamer standards but the problem I have with his review is that he cites the following reasons for the "lows": Intense learning curve dense manual Starforce DRM no Dynamic War Campaign Ok, doesn't Tim Stone have a clue that this is a study sim? As such, the intense learning curve and dense manual is expected. Thank God the manual was dense. Otherwise, I would have never learned how fly this thing. I haven't noticed any negative effects from whatever DRM the simulation came with so I don't understand why Tim Stone cited Starforce as a low. No dynamic campaign? Well, if Tim Stone even tried playing the scripted campaigns, he would realize there is much more depth to DCS:BS's campaign than seems on the surface. I mean, please, a dynamic campaign is a random mission generator....and that's pretty much it. Out of all the simulations I've owned, I've always felt that dynamic campaigns were so repetitive. Anwyay, I guess I've had it with PC Gamer. I don't pay them money to get some amateur analysis of one of the greatest study simulations ever made. IMO, the score should have surpassed 90 %. I mean, they gave Doom 3 well above 90%.......

Now we know it's a tooth LOL. If it fell out of the sky still intact, something the size of a brick would have left a pretty large crater.

But R/C is Radio Controlled, ie, RF controlled. So by all means, a pilotless drone is a R/C aircraft.....just much more powerful radios are used. :)
-
I don't think it is from the crashed satellites. It would have burned up and vaporized as it entered the earth's atmosphere.
-
the military has much bigger radio controlled planes

LOL. I guess everyone has their quirks. Mine was the fact that there were english language in some missions and comms voices and I wanted them to be in Russian. Thankfully, someone posted the Russian language files and now I have all voices in Russian. Womble, this is a hyper-realisitic simulator. I guess it's not for you. Good luck with your refund.

Are you sure or are you guessing based on a stereotype? You really think the Chinese military pirated lockon?

Voice Activated Commands in Black Shark

This is cool. For realism sake though I'd just use this for radio communications and not for cockpit functions. Still, very very cool and thanks for sharing. -
Campaign Georgian Oil War/Chap1/Security Guard
replied to JaBoG32_Prinzartus's topic in User Created Missions General
Yes, I have the same problem with sometimes it telling me to play already played campaign mission again. I've had this happen also with deployment campaign as well as the oil war campaigns. -
Thanks guys. Cool tricks!

LOL. I guess you missed my point. LCD monitors usually have a refresh rate of 60 hz. This means the maximum FPS you will get is 60 fps, even if your computer and graphics card is spitting out 120.

How the AI should NOT fly (quite a few pics inside)
replied to tdar's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Strange. I've flown 2 campaigns and countless instant action and single missions and I have never had the AI crash into me. Are you sure you're not flying with sudden movements and directional changes? The above screenshots look to me like you purposely tried to get the AI wingman to crash into you. -
Computer shuts down when ever I fly low to the ground
replied to redtone's topic in Bugs and Problems
That's normal for 32 bit operating systems when you have 4 gigs installed. -
Do you have a LCD monitor? If so, what good is anything over 60 fps?
-
Do you have FF joystick and does this mission start from the air or the ground?

I agree completely with Zag. The rotor graphics in BS has the strobe effect of a filmed view of the rotors. Kinda unrealistic.......an analogy to this would be like lens flare (only seen through camera lense which I never enable in any flight sim). It would be great if ED improves the rotor graphics so that it looks like it's not filmed but a live view of the rotors. I think the rotor effects of FSX is pretty decent even in DX9.
