You said it brother ! ... What kinda review was that? "Mainstream Gamer" ? ... The way it's written caters to my 7-year old. .

How I Think the Controls Should Work
LIONPRIDE replied to ericinexile's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
No hostility intended. You're entitle to your opinion. It just seems that this A/P thing gets brought up an awful lot. ... and yes, the TRIM was something that was going to be remodeled. . -
How I Think the Controls Should Work
LIONPRIDE replied to ericinexile's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I'm just wondering why all the discussion on how it "should" work? You can always map a key, as I did, to disable AP as soon as you decide to move out. To assume that all APs do/should work the same is a bit naive. Most choppers used for SAR work as the KA-50 modeled by DCS. But ... I have seen it modeled as you describe (in other sims). Perhaps just a pref of the Dev Team. . -
How I Think the Controls Should Work
LIONPRIDE replied to ericinexile's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
. OK ... but isn't the DEV Team looking at changing the flight controls anyway? I thought I remember reading that, at the very least, that the TRIM was going to be fixed/changed. Are we revisiting a horse of the deceased kind? . -
wow ... a bit hostile ... and your trying to 'understand' this in such detail because ... ? I'm quite sure that you've looked here: http://www.cybercom.net/~copters/aero/autorotation.html It's obvious why your experiment failed if you look toward the bottom - diagrams ... at least at some level. Also, you're talking about a co-axial design, so I fail to see how you can use a diagram w/ one Rotor-blade represented. -OUT- .

. I think if you're looking for "realism", durability, and scalability (IE: use w/ a home-brew cockpit) the CH-Products are a better line. I would go with CH if my accountant (wife-unit) would allow it ... but my Saitek gear works just fine. The Saitek gear starts to degrade after a few years of heavy use. It's all really a judgment call. My $.02 -OUT- .

I hate to sound as a 'hater' ... but that statement is actually part of the problem. :D ... your kinda asking for trouble just asking that here. The flight model is much more complicated then BF and the Jets in LockOn for that matter. As for the simple process of mapping it ... I've had issues with mapping keys in this sim too. It just takes a bit of trial and error. Try using the different sub menus of the control settings to see if they're what you're looking for. . PS. ... Love your avatar DivePlane ! .

Where's your version Advent? Where can I download your version? Link? And no where are we to assume that this sim is rendering our current time-frame. Look at the antiquated cockpit. It could easily be from the early 90s ... Since we're all being so forward here ... I demand to see this countries skin on a KA-50: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jersey :D ... and NOW Daggon' It ! -OUT-

IS THIS SIMILAR TO THIS ONE ? A BETTER VERSION? .

Well, the way I understand the U.S. doctrine, is that we go in slow and under cover. Shoot and move. Never over-fly dead target areas. Call in support if needed. A Hammer Head move it to return in a reciprocal direction. If I'm out running a missile, I'm not heading back in it's direction. I'm buggin' out low and fast behind trees and buildings. I see a lot of guys up at +700-ft in Multiplayer all the time. Those are the LockOn jet-jocks ... they get high scores ... but they get killed a lot. Now old Russian doctrine use to be run in and overwhelm the enemy with fire power, but they had to change it up after Afghanistan. .

And it's just your opinion ... I did read the thread, so bugger off you ___________ . Don't assume because I put my opinion in, as you did, that I didn't read it. Companies come out with sims with current A/C in them all the time. Are they accurate ... maybe, maybe not. To assume that DCS got all the info on the Kamov they modeled here is pretty naive on your part ... Looking at you Tough Guy (Lupin). Didn't we get enough of the daggon' A-10 in the LockOn series ... ? Really ... . .

nHANCER - For for nVidia cards

Some shots with the nHancer on ... . . . Hard to notice w/ out before and after, but I'm a bit busy studying ... . -
I'm a die-hard simulator fan in regards to procedures. I play checkers for 'fun' . It's just me geeking out ... sorry. I tend to stick to protocol. Have fun doing loop-de-loops ... .

-2 for Pearl Jam ... :music_whistling: What are we trying to do funnels for? You're going to, perhaps, circle the enemy to make them dizzy? .
-
. why are we trying all these maneuvers ? You're not flying in an ATA situation where these moves are necessary. Maybe if you're doing a virtual airshow ... :noexpression: .

Guess they sat around a board-room table and just settled on an aircraft that was popular (to them) and best mimicked how the general census would be 'playing' ... one player=one seater. The 52 wouldn't be much harder to model for these talented folks. There's just a lot of redunacny in the cockpit. It makes it look intimidating. The targeting systems would be a bit more advanced but the same leanring curve we have now. THe 52 has been done a few times already ... so I'm all for a serious Apache sim. As long as it's the latest variant. I hate the A-model ... *sigh* . Say it with me .. "L-O-N-G-B-O-W" .... I hear all this talk of the A-10, but I found an old video of JIM Mackonochie and he mentions the Apache coming out before the A-10 ... hmmm. . .

nHANCER - For for nVidia cards
LIONPRIDE replied to Timm's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
. As you can see in the screens ... there's a place to 'point' to the DCS.exe file. I'm using the one shown for FSX and just added the DCS.exe to that list. Then use those screen-shots to make the rest of the settings. I'm sure there's some tweaking that could be done, but this was the best base I could find to start with. Glad to finally be helpful here ... . -

. Same as the screens you see there. I just got done taking some nice screens with those settings. Really nice. I'll post later. I noticed the ABRIS and the gauges look clearer now too. The gamma is set a little lower then I might set it manually, but no big deal. . -
nHANCER - For for nVidia cards
LIONPRIDE replied to Timm's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
. Found an interesting setting at SimForums.com. http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=27540&KW=strange+graphics+problems Pictures to make it easy too. I lost about 5 FPS from the settings but MAN ... it was worth it. The exhaust outta the KA is amazing. Never noticed it before. The cockpit windows look more realistic, the rotors don't look as hoaky, and the overall Antialiasing effects make it look great. . -
Your rudder controls are actually working as if you had a tail rotor. Don't think of the rudder controls moving the rudder plane so much as they manipulate one of the rotors (up top) to allow it's inherent torque to spin you in a desired direction. The pedals move the rudder plane in the back as an addition to those effects. Hope that helps Please don't let this turn into another torque thread ! ! ! For the love of Pete .

This worked for me too. I was having an issue with the game suddenly not recognizing my USB keyboard. Weird thing is, when I try to load a saved profile it reverts back to not recognizing the keyboard again. Then I have to do the delete fix again. If I set-up the keys for my X-45, they stay assigned as long as I don't save them in a profile and try to load the profile later. Weird. A bug? .

Need a DEFAULT.LUA file. Nothing is working here.
LIONPRIDE replied to Siinji's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have something similar going on with my sim. I installed SoupDraggons MOD ( - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36842&highlight=russian - ) and then lost all my Keyboard/Saitek/TrackIR settings. Not sure if it was the MOD or something else. I haven't even tried to troubleshoot this ... this is a pretty bad experience ... *sigh* I know the headache you're going through man. . -
Yes ... it is used. Same, more or less. .
