With the money you'e going to spend on a power-supply and video card you should just save a few extra pennies and build your own, more powerful rig, a few months down the line. Judging from the specs that puter you have really isn't that great of a platform to upgrade off of. .

. Hey ... where's that button ? .
-
. But for you the frame-rate jump appears to be worth it. .

. It definitely is a nice change to hear such praise. I just unsubscribed to Age of Conan about a month ago. Those boards are full of people making death threats ... :D I think it has a lot to do with the customer base here. We're just a more mature group of people over all. Hats off to ED ... and to YOU! .

how many of you are interested in printed manual?

... we've been told 'next year' before ... :music_whistling: . -
Though I love the Apache, I think it's been done so many times that it's starting to lose it's appeal in a sim. The Cobra hasn't been done in great detail and is really the only well known international bird I see there besides the HIND. I'm happy with whatever they put out ... except that A-10. I can't see how this sim is going to 'work' or be appealing with two entirely different platform types. .

Fess up! Who else here is having a hard time?

The red-dot would be kewl. Could you point me in that direction? . -
I dont see any mention of Black Shark on their site though ... I'm in the US, but so far West that an Australian team might better suit my Time Zone. Any Australian pilots joining from here? .

SimHQ . I'm a regular on the SimHQ server and they're pretty good about getting it back on line. You can PM Goud and that usually gets results. If you guys want to meet up ... I'd love to give some flying a try in a group. West Coast ... Way WEST ... :D --------------------------------------------- As for difficulties with the sim (this is no game..shame on anyone calling it a game) ... I find it difficult to find the enemy at times. You can turn on the tags to help out while you learn the sim. Then shut em' off later. BTW ... the KA-50 is an older platform weapons/targeting wise ... so take that as it were. Otherwise ... the rest of the sim is easy to learn if you have a background in helicopters in a sim. It's the folks who thought this was going to be like Flanker or LockOn ... they're gaining a new respect for us rotor-heads ... :D  , -
Yes, for simulation purposes LBII was as close as we were ever going to get to the real thing. BUT eventually even that couldn't save it from it's dated graphics and inability to run on a new OS. again ... Of course BS is going to be better in many aspects. As for a dynamic campaign ... I guess we can't have it all. I think EECH is actually a better all around package when you look at it. Dynamic campaign, decent graphics, and MOD's that'll get you realtively close to the button clicking you get from BS. Multiplayer was the only real crutch it had/has. I cut my teeth on LBII and I would love to see a predesessor. BS might be it. Only because it was pretty painless to install on a new rig and has many of the same aspects. .

... numbers? I also run two 9600-GT cards ... but the poor use of their Sli architecture seems to be something with the manufacturing of that card version. I have them running in Sli too and have seen only small improvements in many of my games. I'd like to hear what the 8800 guys get. .

But that means that you have SLi running on both machines. That's not a true test until you've tested one with it on and then with it off. Testing two machines with it active ... doesn't seem like a true test ... especially with two different models. I do, however, agree with the CPU intensive theory. I ran the sim w/out affinity @2.6 an I was getting about 30 FPS. then with affinity scripts, I get about 42 FPS. After overclocking from 2.6 to 3.2 I now get about 48 FPS. .

Haven't read that thread. Do they get the load-out and fuel while in mid-air? Matching ours? .

. How bout it ! ? ! ... The Havoc would have been more challenging and had a more dynamic payload to model. But then, that's what I get for not joining the DCS team ... :smilewink: . I'm content in knowing that they are planning on expanding the series. The A-10 though .... WTF. Like those Fighter-Jocks don't have enough sims out there to keep em' busy? I would love to see the Eurocopter Tiger ARH .... .

DUH ! . Why are we comparing a sim that was developed back in the early 90s to one developed over 10 years later? Of course it's better. I would hope so ... or the dev-team at DCS need their heads examined (and their skills). This is all pointless. It's like comparing an 80s Lamborghini to the latest Bugatti Veyron. Both are great cars ... just one is the obvious winner. . BLACK SHARK is a good game ... if you aint got it ... get it. .
-
CONGRATS! on your purchase! ... You won't be disappointed. The HIND would be nice. They made a version of it in EECH but I can't run it with a newer machine. So I've settled for the Shark. I'd take a version of the Super Cobra in DCS ... :D ... over the A-10 ... .

 ... Go play some Age of Conan or WarHammer man ... stop stirring the pot .

The 9500 series isn't exactly high-end these days ... even with the 1-Gig version. What drivers are you using? .
-
Do the 'quick-start' keystrokes also work as a 'quick-STOP' function?! KILL THE ENGINES ... ! ! ahhhhhh ! .
-
. This is what happens when you get a bunch of fighter-jocks wanting to fly a helicopter ... a video ... *sigh* ... :megalol: well done BTW ... perhaps you could cover each chapter of the 300+ page manual ? :smilewink: ... looking at this post it might seem I'm being an A-hole ... was not my intention. Nuthin' but LOVE .

. I have to say ... I found 'other' sites *cough* (not the manual) more helpful when it came to getting the down and dirty on system management. Sorry ... .

. Are those guys w/ the Pirated copies able to use the MP features of the game? .

Vista and Multi-core/Multi-CPUs, Continued
LIONPRIDE replied to ericinexile's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Way out of my league there. Some one will answer soon enough. , -
If you approach at a slow speed, Auto-Hover should get you close to a full stop and hover. Make sure you've reset the trim before this though. Some folks do all sorts of trim settings while enroute to the zone. Once in A-H you shouldn't have to touch the stick. I hit the trim one time to fine tune it ... no cyclic or collective inputs while I'm doing this. If you come in too hot the A-H is going to take a while to settle out. .
