Before startup I get power from the ground to power the radio to ask permissions to startup. Great, permission granted. So while the APU is spooling up I tell the chief to disconnect the ground power. "Ground power is off" Thanks chief. So, startup, engines, CDU, etc, etc, 5 minutes of aligning + two minutes reviewing the DSMS profiles, etc, etc, request taxi to runway. Very good. So when I gently squeeze down the throttle, the chief calmly screams over the intercom "HEY!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!??" First time I heard him say that I was so startled I actually hit eject. So after a quick brainstorm I thought that, hmm, maybe 5 minutes isn't enough for a ground crew to leave the ramp with a cable during a combat deployment. So I started it up again, this time leaving the game for 10 minutes for a cigarette and some 20q on my android phone  Bugger gets me every time. "HEY!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!??" Not having learned from my previous encounter with The Chief, the volume was just as loud. This time my self control prevented me from ejecting as I slammed on the brakes and extended airbrakes. I looked around but couldn't see anything so I reluctantly continued on. "HEY!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!??" Oh **** off. Surely starting two jet engines means I won't stick around for pancakes. I made it all the way to the start of the runway, stopped to ask permission to takeoff, and just as I was moving out to the runway... "HEY!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!??" Did they follow me 3 kilometres from the ramp? Hope they don't have to carry the GPU by hand... So, is anyone else not using the ground power?

What does your .crash file say, marder? # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 6B0B2768 ?

Have to buy in whole kilo's :) Excellent work so far, I could never solve those logic questions but you're doing a good job
-
6 F's, yes. That's a pretty rare answer, most people get 3 or 4 because the brain actually doesn't process "of". Something harder: Three Masters of Logic wanted to find out who was the wisest amongst them. So they turned to their Grand Master, asking to resolve their dispute. “Easy,” the old sage said. "I will blindfold you and paint either red, or blue dot on each man’s forehead. When I take your blindfolds off, if you see at least one red dot, raise your hand. The one, who guesses the color of the dot on his forehead first, wins." And so it was said, and so it was done. The Grand Master blindfolded the three contestants and painted red dots on every one. When he took their blindfolds off, all three men raised their hands as the rules required, and sat in silence pondering. Finally, one of them said: "I have a red dot on my forehead." How did he guess? After losing the “Spot on the Forehead” contest, the two defeated Puzzle Masters complained that the winner had made a slight pause before raising his hand, thus derailing their deductive reasoning train of thought. And so the Grand Master vowed to set up a truly fair test to reveal the best logician amongst them. He showed the three men 5 hats – two white and three black. Then he turned off the lights in the room and put a hat on each Puzzle Master’s head. After that the old sage hid the remaining two hats, but before he could turn the lights on, one of the Masters, as chance would have it, the winner of the previous contest, announced the color of his hat. And he was right once again. What color was his hat? What could have been his reasoning? Try this. The Grand Master takes a set of 8 stamps, 4 red and 4 green, known to the logicians, and loosely affixes two to the forehead of each logician so that each logician can see all the other stamps except those 2 in the Grand Master's pocket and the two on her own forehead. He asks them in turn if they know the colors of their own stamps: A: "No." B: "No." C: "No." A: "No." B: "Yes." What color stamps does B have?

Here are some actual teasers: Math: You have £100 (currency doesn't matter, use dollars or euro's if you want) and you want to buy 100 kilo's of meat. Chicken costs £1 for 1kg Beef is £5 for 1kg Duck is £1 for 20kg You have to buy 100kg, you have to spend £100 and you have to buy minimum 1kg of each. Good luck :P Logic: There are three switches downstairs. Each corresponds to one of the three light bulbs in the attic. You can turn the switches on and off and leave them in any position. How would you identify which switch corresponds to which light bulb, if you are only allowed one trip upstairs? Brain teaser: Count every " F " in the following text: FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS... How many?

Norway is currently leading the research on thorium based nuclear power technology. These will use background radiation to give extremely clean abundant power with almost no enviromental impact. Then again, Norway is almost entirely dependent on oil and gas as income so I think we can expect some delays. Other countries are also making advances. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorium#Thorium_as_a_nuclear_fuel

The start-up page is especially helpful :smilewink: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Aircraft_Start-Up

I know removing the card would work but I'm not really comfortable with shifting around hardware components everytime I want to play a specific sim. Maybe I can find some 3rd party drivers somewhere.

Found a site delivering abroad but unfortunately in minimum 500 copy orders. So does anyone need 499 flight manual books?
-
P6X58D-E. No new cards since installation in late february. Have never captured any audio or video on the computer, nor touched any wave settings so all that should be stock.

Try the General Purpose Bombs tutorial level in the sim, it covers both variants of MK82's, one CCIP and one CCRP released. Slew a SPI on the HUD over something you want gone. Fly towards it in level flight. This point will still be there if you need another pass. Set the master mode to CCRP. High drag bombs are released when you are almost on top of the target so just fly over it like it's a waypoint. You should see a vertical line with the traditional aiming reticule at the bottom, that represents you. There will also be a second line with a dot moving downwards, representing the release point, and a countdown clock above it, indicating time to release. You need to make the release point indicator pass through the reticule. The easiest way to do that is to line up the two lines so they overlap. With 5 seconds on the clock, press and HOLD the weapon release until you can confirm the bomb is released. I literally learned all this today so anyone can feel free to scold me and shout RTFM if I got something wrong :)

If she doesn't understand your hobby then save up some more money and buy her something she'll value just as much as you'll value the HOTAS. If you can't think of anything, then... have fun with your HOTAS :blow:

Can't find a site like that in Norway, so do you know a similar site that delivers abroad? Edit: Or, someone in the u.s. could buy two copies and I'd buy one off you :)

I'm not using the onboard sound, I have an ASUS Xonar D2X on an ASUS motherboard. Does it suddenly require the realtek drivers after a years use with one game?
-
"DCS Black Shark has stopped working" Crash file says audio drivers and removing the file in question lets the game start (without sound, naturally) Unfortunately Asus considers the audio drivers for the D2X as perfect and do not update them often, so I do have the latest build. Having no problem at all with the A10-C sim I'm not sure where to turn at this point so so if any of you could lend assistance it would be greatly appretiated :) # -------------- 20110512-124814 -------------- C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_1.dll # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 74202768 01:00021768 # # EAX = 00000000 # EBX = 00000800 # ECX = 00000028 # EDX = 00000000 # ESI = 003E1140 # EDI = 0000AC44 # CS:EIP = 0023:74202768 # SS:ESP = 002B:0018F49C EBP = 0018F49C # DS = 002B ES = 002B FS = 0053 GS = 002B # Flags = 00210216 74202768 0018F49C 0001:00021768 C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_1.dll 74202768 0018F49C 0001:00021768 C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_1.dll 742029DB 0018F4B4 0001:000219DB C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_1.dll 742165A6 0018F4C8 0001:000355A6 C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_1.dll DllUnregisterServer()+5E16 742139FA 0018F544 0001:000329FA C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_1.dll DllUnregisterServer()+326A 74212403 0018F55C 0001:00031403 C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_1.dll DllUnregisterServer()+1C73 74206673 0018FA00 0001:00025673 C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_1.dll 74206ED0 0018FA24 0001:00025ED0 C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_1.dll 00FD6705 0018FA64 0001:00005705 e:\games\steam\steamapps\common\dcs black shark\bin\x86\stable\ed_sound.dll SND_source_del()+1F15 DxDiag.txt

1999 Happy times :P

Did another one, I think you can see it better here, it went slightly sideways through the entire mission, from a warm start. I laughed pretty hard when I got it airborne again after using left and right throttles to steer it onto the runway  Landing(Depth)2.trk
-
I've heard I should disable the EAC (which I keep forgetting) but haven't tried the SAS, thanks, I'll try that :) Should I keep SAS disabled for takeoff as I'm having the same trouble getting off the runway as well, though only minor issues I did a quick flight on air start (free flight) and am attaching the track to the post. Everything goes well untill the landing where I'm suddenly thrown miles off the runway. Coincidentally, this was my first flight after adding a curve to the joystick. Amazing how much easier it is keeping stable  Landing(Depth).trk

I've flown with only one loadout so far to get the feel of the craft before adding variables, on the free flight mission. Takeoff from Sukhumi runway 30 and land at Senaki runway 09. Once I get on the final approach my aircraft gets extremely sluggish and often starts going a bit sideways as I approach the runway. This always happens at speeds from barely above stall (120 knots) to 200 knots to 300 knots (yep, I once tried diving onto the runway, lost more than the front wheel) Wind at 2 metres per second, is that enough to make an impact?
-
I usually clip the edge of one of the wings and lose the hatch covering the nosewheel but 4 out of 5 landings usually result in nothing more than a very silent control tower and a perfectly useable aircraft. Does anyone know how to compensate for the aircraft getting unusually sluggish and going all over the place at the lowest altitudes?
