  1. I doubt that it was done with the game engine ... or is the engine able to render sharp shadows and reflections?
  2. TrackIR is a MUST HAVE ... If you ever flew with it, you never want to fly without it again. Performance - what do you mean? When I move my head it responses immediately and smooth ...
  3. Different people - different opinions...
  4. Thats normal for steering a helicopter, as far as I know.
  5. I think 3d-glasses are not so terrible usefull in flight simulations, because there are only 62 mm between your eyes (avarage) you can see only a few meters far in 3D ... everthing more far away can't be seperated by your eyes. So in a flightsim you'll see the cockpit in 3D and some few objects close to your aircraft. But until we don't get a much more detailed surrounding in BS there will not be much. Not enough to compensate the inconvenience to wear relative heavy glasses with flickering LCDs in front of your eyes.
  6. Slaunyeh, but these glasses are shutterglasses. That means one glass let you see through while the other won't let you. On the monitor at the same moment you see the fitting view of the scenery/objects. Because the computer draws 2 sights - one for each eye - you get an 3 dimensional expression. You are looking through like you are wearing sunglasses - in fact everything is slightly darker. The 3-D effect can be very good. But because you cut down the refresh rate of your monitor to the half some people tend to get headache while using this glasses....
  7. beispiel1.jpg A well modelled vehicle in front of a cardboard like house, what is looking like a cheap c-movie coulisse, placed on an undefined, blurred something called "ground". This point of view comes much closer to what you will see from a helo cockpit, than the two posted shots from far above.
  8. Did you read the hole thread? Or just hopped in? The modeling of the aircrafts and vehicles was not the subject of the (new graphics)-discussion.
  9. I believe you ... no I expect this. But nevertheless I am disappointed and I feel betrayed...
  10. Coooooooool! :pilotfly: One of the best heli videos I've ever seen
  11. Where you are sitting is the usual place of a jetpilot - but BS will be a helicopter simulation until a fixed wing will be available. And helicopters tend to fly low - very low. Seen from this chair everything looks different. And what I have seen till today do not knock me out of my chair. It is a slightly improved version of the FC surrounding. Not a new terrain...
  12. I guess you both are talking about different things...
  13. Is it really so difficult to open your own thread?
  14. Oh yes - only 2 or 3 years... Man, when was the the first release date? I realy forgot it already.Come on, accept it ... they fooled us! Their good right, its business - but our good right is to be angry... !
  15. Well, there currently are some games out, that are using effects like this. "Two Worlds" is using dept of field "Clive Barker's Jericho Demo" and "TimeShift Demo" are using a lot of visual effects ... some kind of motion blur, flickering etc. but all these effects are normaly very cpu-/gpu-time consuming and many players will not use them because of lower frame rates ...
  16. Maybe it will supported natively by DX10 now, and until DX10 the developers had to programm effects like mb by their own?
  17. Nope - also older cards can view motion blur ... e.g. I played "Frontlines - Fuel of War Beta" with a 6800GT and in high graphic setting there was motion blur ... (that my machine is to slow for this setting is written on another leaf :)
  18. due to the experiences of the last months and especially the last days I will believe this when I have it on my harddisk ...
  19. I wrote down a memory from 1999 - as an example for a well balanced simulation with a high immersion factor ... at this time EEAH was the best helo sim availaible - beside LB2 of course. So using the word IS might not be right tense ... If you had read the hole thread you might have noticed that my example was the response to the "movie posting" ... But maybe you found a peace of truth ... I fear BS will not have this high emmersion factor I wish it should have.
  20. Why not starforced? You realy should protect your mental property!
  21. Movies ... as Aldega said: made to impress. Of course I have seen them all and they are fantastic. Fantastic because of the movement, the action, good camera angles etc... All these tricks a good director can use ... But immersion in a simulation - for a player - is made of other stuff. Here you need an authentic world. I remember one of my first missions in "Enemy Engaged Apache Havok". Night - rain - the whipers scratching the windshield - I literally felt the water drip into the cockpit. My Apache was hovering some ten feet below a bridge overarching a narrow gap. Above me a convoy was on its way to cross the bridge. I heard the rain dropping on the windshiled, the rotorblades and the sound of the engines of the tanks. And in the right moment I raised up and send some hellfires into the bridge ... That was immersive. And it was immersive because everything was well balanced ... the graphics - the details (both excellent for 1999) - the sound - the feeling - the handling - the background ... Not a movie made by others ... that was my reality in this moment - made by myself ... Thats a slight difference I guess.
  22. Well, reality beats conspiracy storys as we can see. :music_whistling:
  23. We are not only talking about the terrain and the elevation info. Read our statements again, look at the screenies on the new DCS site and you might understand . If Ed had changed something we are talking about I think we would see it there. But I don't see a big difference to the current graphics (not only terrain)
