  1. When using the mission editor, how do I get multiple bombs on one multiple pylon, thanks in advance.
  2. I was watching the flying tiger tutorial video concerning cluster bombs, from the hud ' CCIP 5mil' was selected, can anyone explain this, is there only 5mil, and is it just for cluster bombs, I'm not being lazy but with young children around and a very large manual, this can cut corners. Keep up the good work on the training videos chaps they are concise and easy to understand, its just the 5mil thats thrown me, thanks in advance
  3. During one of the training missions I head back to the airfield, and a message comes up on the hud 'note' I then notice that my heading bar has vanished any thoughts also how do I deal with the note message? thanks in advance.
  4. On the courier mission I find out that at low levels the Shark seems to have a mind of her own, is this simulating a crosswind? also, when I attempt to land, I tend to crash, even though the landing is smooth, thanks in advance.
  5. Bought this sim last week, fantastic, only problem i have is trimming the hog. I have an X52 pro configured to Craigs profile, I press the TO trim button and after roatating I find the nose is 15degres high, the stick is almost fully forward and a lot of trim has to be applied to get her back to straight and level, even with reduced power, landing the situation is the complete opposite. I have looked at the FAQ, and reduced the sensitivity of the stick, but to no avail. any ideas, thanks in advance.
  6. Sorry everyone, just found out the solution, it was already working, just the button that I tested wasn't Thank you
  7. I have downloaded a profile for a10c Warthog, for the Saitex x52 pro. I have loaded the .pr0 file into the the profile editor and it's working, however when I go onto the game, it's not - there are just default controls. I've tried to load the profile into the options but it wont let me because it's not a .lua file. Any help appreciated :) Thanks, awdrgyjo
  8. If its any help, having taken advice from other members, the fairly vague SA provides another dimension to the sim, and indeed, a sense of real achievement when you outsmart them, indeed, every time I encounter targets, I learn a lesson, thats the difference between a game, and a sim. having said this, I still have a lot to learn, thus the uncoordinated landings, and small parts of the KA-50, being spread out in large areas.
  9. Good point, pitot and rotor are on, but not engine anti ice, thanks.
  10. I have been flying the patrol mission, rotor anti ice on, and i have been gentle with the old girl, no over torque, betty tells me to turn the rotor anti ice on, so just to play by the rules, I turn the anti ice "off" then back " on" again, no weapons are flying, then all off a sudden EKAN tells me, "left engine oil pressure'' I lose my left engine , then it goes a bit un-gentlemanly, this happens at roughly the same time into the mission, only once have I managed to pass this point, without the left turbine going quiet, any ideas, as always, thanks in advance.
  11. What technology does the BS use for auto hover, if it is GPS, when the EKRAN asks for a sat position fix, will this make the auto hover option unreliable? obviously if its based on INS, thats a different matter, thanks in advance.
  12. On another thread, I was advised [being a newbie] to take into consideration the SA when flying into a hostile situation, this opened a another dimension regarding this sim, one of many. Will I ever excel at flying this sim, yea in time, will I ever master it, I doubt it, but, there lies the challenge. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the people behind this sim, consider the entertainment value for such a relative small price. Next time you bemoan the glitches and shortcomings, consider all the things it excels at, personally i can watch the start up sequence from the exterior view over and over again, to me, its like a work of art. So take a minute, go on to you tube and look at the sims i was brought up on, interceptor, fighter bomber, F-16 combat pilot, falcon3 [Amiga 500] falcon 4, and hind, it will be an eye opener, lets not moan, lets be grateful.
  13. What a good idea! and I quite understand your point about the SA, but this is quite good news, i find there is always a reward for practice and perseverance, in the long run anyway, thank you.
  14. Ah, good point, this is a dilemma I have, when I consider how realistic the sim plays, I feel i am cheating having the enemy labels switched on, is it best to get used to flying without labels at this early stage, to prevent you from becoming dependent at a later stage. Thanks for all the input.
  15. So, being fairly new to BS, for the past few weeks I have been flying the shooting range mission, just to get a feel of the old girl, last night it was time to go on patrol, which meant the enemy shot back, which meant, I went down. So whats the best way to engage? fast and low, ambush, or high and slow, and what distance if I used that tactic, thanks in advance.
  16. have you changed the the RMI needle number 1 on the ABRIS options screen to radio
  17. Hi all, I am posting this on behalf of a friend. He was running Warthog and everything was fine, he downloaded the patch, and now the right MFD is glitching when in TV Maverick mode. He has a very good system but is running a three monitor setup with 3GB graphics card [2x 1.5] thanks in advance.
  18. Thank you for your replies, flap over now, I turned the computer off and on a couple of times, and that seems to have done the trick, but i will bear your suggestions in mind when the flak hits the fan next time, cheers.
  19. I have been playing the same mission for the past two weeks, [the shooting range] just to get a feel for the old girl, for some reason after playing the same mission, over and over again, this time the brakes wont release. Wheel brakes, and parking brakes have both been reassigned but she still will not move, if I try to hover with the brakes on, she rolls over to port, and theres bits everywhere, why this time, with no changes implemented does it decide to become suddenly anti social, any input would be appreciated, once again, thanks in advance.
  20. For what its worth Bristow helicopters in the UK run an academy that specialises in instrument rated courses for rotary wing, a minimum of 15 hours must be completed before the practical flight exam, this must include ILS approach procedures, they also do conversions from CAA to FAA, so I assume this applies in the states as well, where they also run an academy. Bristow do a lot of flights ferrying oil rig employes to and from their platforms, it would be impractical in this location to fly in VFR conditions, so ILS approaches are often put into practice.
  21. Good point, and thanks for all the replies.
  22. Engine faliure, finding the airfield and then desending in a hover is not a good idea, even in a twin engine helicopter, following the glide slope will keep you clear of structures, and maintain forward speed for autorotation.
  23. Although helicopters generally only fly in VFR conditions, it is mandatary to demonstrate an ILS approach in a commercial GFT incase a situation presents itself, however, I don't know if this applies in military operations.
  24. Is it possible to do an ILS approach in BS, the HSI is equipped for it but there does not seem to be any reference in the manual, thanks in advance.
