  1. Ah, sorry I'm a bit tired and didn't realize exactly what you wanted. I'm not sure there's any way to change this, it may be hard coded into the game...
  2. It's in the control options, under "View". Or you can probably change it in "C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A-10C\keyboard\Keyboard.lua".
  3. Missile evasion is a whole other topic, but if you get a missile locked on and fired at you, the first thing you need to know where it's coming from, the RWR should help you there. If you are so close that you just cannot outrun the missile you should beam it, i.e. put it on your 3 or 9 o clock, that way the missile has to lead the most, and it might even lose its lock on you. Look for the smoke trail and maybe you can see the missile coming at you, when it's close you can try to turn into it. I was going to make a drawing but found this: look at 6:00. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dajjO8RELMs
  4. Well, if the aircraft in question has it's best turn rate at somewhere between 400 and 450, the of course you should try to turn at that speed whenever you need to turn as fast as possible. If you immediately drop to 300 you're pulling too hard on the stick. While that may give you a very fast instantaneous turn rate, it's going to get worse fast. Instead, pull on the stick until the speed is between 400 and 450, then don't pull further, I assume that you also need to go to full throttle to maintain a good high G turn at 400-450.
  5. Yeah, that's the first Black Shark, that won't tie in to DCS World, but can be upgraded as mentioned. You need to download the latest version of Warthog and install that using your key that you got with the disc. At least I think you can do that. Go to http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en log in and go to Downloads -> modules -> A-10C. Torrent is probably the fastest way to download.
  6. Did you get the sims on discs? If so they are probably old versions that are not tied into DCS:W, The old Black Shark (not 2) isn't compatible with DCS, but you can upgrade to BS2 for a lower cost than non upgrade. For A-10C, download the latest installers from this site and then use your serial when installing. Edit: Oh, and welcome :)
  7. Here's some interesting info about the Mk-82 from Australia. There's some info on the drag coefficients for F/A-18 with Mk-82 in there too. http://www.dsto.defence.gov.au/publications/1989/DSTO-TR-0554.pdf
  8. A Mk82 dropped from 13000 meters accelerated to 1519 kph and started to drop in speed just before it hit the ground. Should it really go that fast? And if so, there should be a sonic boom I think...
  9. 1.2.4.12179.160 Hmm... anybody know what's new/fixed?
  10. The real CBU-87/103 relies a lot of fragmentation to destroy and damage targets, but fragmentation and blastwaves seems to be modelled quite poorly in DCS at the moment (still).
  11. To support proper naval combat and carrier operations. The Black sea is too small for proper carrier operations, having a carrier in there doesn't seem necessary and also dangerous. I don't agree, andI if a map with good potential for naval combat was made, ships would follow. This just sounds weird, the waters are just too small to support proper carrier operations. Something which should be a part of the DCS: F/A-18C module... It was just a made up scenario. So?
  12. Hey, don't give them any ideas... they might just decide that the F/A-18C is good as it is then... :(
  13. Not yet, make her buy you pedals first :D
  14. Yeah, now that my awesome map above got shot down, I guess that the Balkans and the surrounding area could work, but I think we'd miss out on good naval action, it's a bit too closed in.
  15. Yeah, lets have Squareland invading Circleland, NATO comes to Circleland's defence while Squareland is backed by Russia and China. The evil dictatorship Squareland have always felt picked on by the international community and are now ready to show that they are not to be played with by invading their peaceful neighbour state Circleland to get to its rich natural resources. Here's the map, already done for you.
  16. Personally I don't want a European map, I would want a full blown war scenario, and it just wouldn't be believable for me if it took place in Europe. A Korean war that escalates drawing other nations in on either side though... now that could be interesting, because then you could pretty much throw in every aircraft and vehicle we have, it would be important with large expanses of water too for ship combat and carrier operations, the Mediterranean just feels too small for that.
  17. There's lots of hills and mountains in Korea. With Korea you get direct access to China, Japan and Russia. There's more water around Korea. Some of those are never going to be modeled in DCS, and if we go with a hypothetical scenario you can have the units you want anyway. I really don't understand what you mean  With this I agree :)
  18. I want a modern conflict, but not necessarily a future one, I just want something where as many as the aircraft we have and will have will fit in. Korea would be good for at least F/A-18C, A-10C, MiG-21, MiG-29, F-15C. And if the Russians join either side, Su-27, Su-25.
  19. This is pretty much what I'd want for a map. roughly 2000 x 1500 km, to make it faster to create it could be released with detail only inside the marked area, and then be updated with more detailed areas later on.
  20. Why are people so eager to get maps of desert countries? Soooooo boring.
  21. What are you saying, isn't this the Internet?! ;)
  22. I'm sure ED doesn't have anything against anyone using their images in signatures on their forum, but that's a long way from doing anything you want with those images.
