Agreed, for me it would suffice to just have a colored dot or similar that does not move but just shows you where you start, as you say, you would know this in real life.

It sounds like the game haven't been activated. Perhaps you can try to activate the A-10C module again. Run: <install folder>\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\bin\a10_protect.exe

Take off from the taxiway... yeah, I stopped watching there.

please allow to install BS2 upgrade without installing BS1
Yellonet replied to pocococo's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Honestly, there's nothing strange in the file, it just creates a few registry keys and values, I made it an exe to make it easier and also allow for creating the correct values from different source folders and to work with both 32 and 64 bit Windows. Don't you trust me? For my personal use I created an installer with all the needed files included, but as I'm not allowed to distribute those files I couldn't upload that installer. -

Indeed. Well, here we have to pay about $2 for a regular 5% beer, way more at the pub. State owned monopoly does that... -
Remember people, we only know that it will happen, not when. It could still be a long wait.

I hope I don't get banned now, but here goes. First let me just say that this program do NOT contain any files or data from any ED product. This is NOT an attempt at circumventing any copy protection, only a way to make it a bit easier for people who have bought the upgrade version of BS2 to install it. The user will need a valid serial key for BS1 and access to the installation files as I don't have permission to distribute the needed files (although it most likely wouldn't hurt anyone as you still need a serial key to use the product). I've not made any extensive testing, so I can't guarantee that it will work, but it should :) What to do: Get a hold of the BS1 installer. Unpack it with 7-zip or similar software. Copy the following files from the folder "<unpacked files>\setup\$_OUTDIR\bin\stable\" DCS.exe protect.dll protect.exe protect.x86 Create a new folder somewhere, for example "C:\Temp" Inside this folder, create a new folder called "bin". Inside this folder, create another folder with the name "stable". You should have this "C:\Temp\bin\stable", now paste the four files above into the "stable" folder. Download the following file and put it into the folder where you created the "bin\stable" path, C:\Temp in this example. http://www.mediafire.com/?e43d1gaamt9cxo7 So, now you should have: <folder of your choice>\setup.exe <folder of your choice>\stable\bin\DCS.exe <folder of your choice>\stable\bin\protect.dll <folder of your choice>\stable\bin\protect.exe <folder of your choice>\stable\bin\protect.x86 Run "setup.exe". The setup-file will create the necessary registry keys and start the activation tool, if you already have activated BS1 you can just close that window, otherwise, go ahead and use your BS1 serial to activate it. Install BS2 upgrade, remember to choose "DCS Black Shark 2 Upgrade..." If you know how to, you can create a setup-file that includes all the files for the next time you have to use it.... -
please allow to install BS2 upgrade without installing BS1
Yellonet replied to pocococo's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
There, now I've made an installer that makes it possible to install the BS2 upgrade without installing BS1. You will need to activate BS1 if you haven't already, so this doesn't give anyone without a proper key the ability to use BS2 upgrade. I'll wait to make it public until I get an OK though. Also, depending on if it's OK to distribute certain files or not, you may have to use a few files from the BS1 install anyway, it will make reinstallation easier though. -

Yellonet replied to pocococo's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I've done some testing, and it seems to be possible to install BS2 upgrade without installing BS1 first. Sort of. You still to use your activated key, so it should still be ok legally speaking. I'll get back with more info. Or is this something that will get me banned even though you have to use an active key for BS1? :noexpression: -
What do you have against the "Cobra button"? Of course it will.

Yellonet replied to pocococo's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Would there really be a problem with supplying the key for BS1, getting that activated (without installing the game) and then doing the same for BS2? This is just a perfect example of DRM punishing only those who want to pay for the product :noexpression: -

Agreed, but there's really no need to force people to install BS1, why not ask for the BS1 serial key when installing BS2? -
Ejected pilots now visible in MP! Thank you ED!

As a downed pilot it could be interesting to try and avoid player controlled enemy vehicles looking for you, while at the same time trying to get to the extraction point... :) -
Nostalgia for the Old Flanker Heads...
Yellonet replied to Shepski's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
The current real time rendered model actually look a good deal better than the one in that video... -
Ah, this means that the old Eagle vs. Flanker debates from LOMAC can return for some heat in the forums discussions

Flying the Shark vs Flyign the Huey - First Impressions
Yellonet replied to Shein's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Well if you have tried the DCS Huey and think it is not easy, they one would assume that the flight model isn't very well done... -
The Music Mafia stopped me from watching the video...

Damn it, you guys are making me want to buy FC3... -
This is a pretty good video from inside a F/A-18 where you can hear the actual sounds and almost feel the vibrations in the aircraft. Flying in a shirt and don't even put the harness on until he's taxiing :D

Just change it in the control options. Remove the function from the hat in the View Cockpit section for A-10C controls and add the trim to the hat in HOTAS section.

Exactly, I was more thinking like $29.90 for pre purchase beta and then $39.90 for the final product. Will it be $59.90 for the final version now? :noexpression:

Also, when you drive you should take off the seat belt as it can be in the way ;)

I think you're exaggerating the difficulty of creating patch packages a bit, personally I would be just fine with updates from the next latest to the latest version, that way the testing of installers could be cut to a minimum. The benefits for the customers should be obvious, but ED would also benefit directly by having less strain on their servers and indirectly by customers becoming more positive about updates when getting a smoother and faster update experience.

That's probably it, I have the upgrade version.... and now I don't have BS1 installed. Ugh. -

I always seem to lose my activation for BS2 upgrade... now it won't acknowledge my serial number
