  1. Very nice, the white noise actually makes the bullets sound more realistic, they sound like they would being transmitted over a radio. The gunfire reminds me of this video I saw elsewhere on these forums. If we could get that type of excitement in the voice overs... Ohhh man that would be very engaging. Give you a sense of urgency.
  2. Right on I will definitely check that out... I have Corel Movie Studio which I am pretty sure I could do it with, but I figure it is really overkill for just adding sound files together. Thanks for the info guys... Speech and radio chatter really adds more depth to the missions.
  3. Hey I wanted to see what you guys use to make your custom sound files. I am planning on just using what is in the DCS A-10C\Sounds\Speech\Sound\ENG\ folder. I was hoping to find a program that I could just drag and drop the voices that I want and automatically put them in one after the other. Also, is there any benefit to using .ogg files as opposed to .wav files?
  4. Does anyone know what the site distance is on the predator? Since wingmen can spot units out to about 12nm I am assuming the same goes for the predator. Has anyone done any testing with this?
  5. Hey I just bought this projector, and wanted to share it with you guys... newegg has it for 180 off the original price... This will be my first projector so I am not sure how it will perform but if it doesn't work at least I can watch 3-d movies on it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009223&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10440897&PID=3876131&SID=
  6. Now when you watch DCS A-10 movies on youtube, instead of eye googling the graphics and thinking about how sweet it will be when you learn to fly it, you can't enjoy them because of the incompetence of the person behind the stick.
  7. Make sure you start with a character that has the plot enabled as well... My favorite way to start is "Bankrupt Assasin," but that means no plot and no contact with the terrans.
  8. Thanks a million I would have never figured it out, I went back in trying to edit it every which way.
  9. Haven't gone through this entire thread, but I am looking forward to the next one as well. *edit* apparently I don't know how to embed
  10. :megalol: Bold isn't as bad as all caps...
  11. Yea I just got a 590 and the flickering went away at 512 every frame, but the gridline problem happens whenever I zoom in and out...
  12. Broken? Download doesn't seem to point to anything except "Administrator login"
  13. YES! That is exactly what I am talking about! You need to get on DCS's payroll with all that work you are putting in. ;) Of course with that you need a partner to help you with a sound mod, make it sound a little more hectic on the ground with gunfire in the background. :D edit* that is funny I didn't even see your post wildfire when I wrote mine
  14. Well when you feel comfortable putting it out there I will definitely take a look at it. I am kind of holding off on my mission building right now because I want delayed take offs, for the AI, so bad it is killing my motivation to move forward with other things. Once the new patch comes out and allows me to put idle AI on the field, I am going to see if I can pack the airports full of AI and have them scramble.
  15. Yea one thing about the IT world is you better say exactly what it is called or else you get one of those ;) Well unless I misunderstood you, why would you need the information of "why and how" the units ended up there? I thought you just wanted the fact that at XX:XX:X (hour:minutes:day) the player quit, and these are the positions of units that are still active at that particular moment.
  16. I was thinking the same thing but on a different lines actually... We can't have a dynamic campaign that ends on every mission and goes to a new one. How about we just make it an ongoing campaign that is basically one mission? My thoughts were having the player refuel and rearm and then get new orders, new waypoints and be briefed in the cockpit. What you are trying to accomplish would go a long way with that. Of course with my idea you wouldn't be able to save your progress, but just one mission that felt alive, would go a long way. The day strategy and sims finally merge will be the day that I will be a happy man.
  17. I agree with you, if tacview can recreate the entire mission for playback in their own 3rd party software there has to be a way to take that information and plug it back into the mission editor; or at least get the x, y coordinates of the units last position and upload it to the mission gen as static objects. One could assume that you should also be able to regen those units with the same name as well.
  18. We definitely appreciate the time you are putting into this.
  19. Luckily I took out everything between the {'s and was able to bring it back I think I misunderstood what the "Event" field under type and name was for.
  20. So I put an event in my mission that I thought would activate a group upon a base being captured... But instead it broke my mission so I couldn't even load it. The trigger I set was as follows Trigger Conditions Type: Once Type: Coalition has airdome Name: Base captured Coalition: blue Event: On Base Captured Airdrome: Red base Action: Deactivate static unit Activate unit in their place *here is the code from the unzipped .miz file* events = is the start of line 10 events = { base captured = { [2] = "if mission.trig.conditions[2]() then mission.trig.actions[2]() end", }, -- end of base captured }, -- end of eventsBut when I try to load the mission in the editor I get the error; [string "mission = ... "]:12 '}' expected (to close '{' at line 11) near 'captured'
  21. You said it! I am just using the trial so far but I am certain I will get shell 20 bucks out for it... It is really nice when you are creating missions as well.
  22. Wow 3rd line on the pre-change log... I think I always stopped at "static objects" when I read that.
  23. Whew I am not the only one that noticed that. If I remember correctly if you name it after you input the "#?" and "XX######" it will actually do the name that you put in. Personally I just leave it default with the "XX######" as the Waypoint name.
  24. How would one go about having a plane delay its start up procedure until x event happens? I want them to be physically on the tarmac, but not do anything until something happens, more specifically once a base is captured.
  25. Just FYI if you do mission start, you can't have any conditions, because I suppose the condition is the mission started...
