  1. Flow - Thx, that was pretty much what I was thinking.
  2. Considering upgrading current rig (listed in signature) for the following: Asus GD30 Core i5-7400 16GB 2TB + 256GB SSD GeForce GTX 1070 Windows 10 Gaming Desktop in Black and White GD30CI-UK003T https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/asus-gd30-core-i5-7400-16gb-2tb-256gb-ssd-geforce-gtx-1070-windows-10-gam-gd30ci-uk003t/version.asp?tduid=1155c52ea760401fbb511efdf804cdde&utm_source=digidip+UK_2142931&utm_medium=tradedoubler It retails around £1400 usually, but is currently available for £799. Bearing in mind I would happily not spend £800, am I going to see a night and day upgrade with this rig, or should I just spend £250ish on a 1060 6gb (2nd hand)? Thx
  3. Hope this is the right place for this question: As per the thread title, is it possible to export an MFD to an Android tablet or a networked PC? I have done a quick Google and the results were from a number of years ago, so I dont know if anything has changed since then. Also, I see from the Play Store that there are a few apps available that offer this type of functionality, but there are some mixed reviews - anyone have any experience of them? Thanks in advance
  4. Thanks for the replies, as suggested I may look at upgrading the RAM before the GFX card and maybe by then the 1060s will have come back down in price to a more sensible level? Regards
  5. All, After 4 years of not using my gaming rig I am just getting back into playing DCS. I posted a thread last week and people kindly replied stating that my CPU was still OK (ish), so I would like to upgrade my GPU (Nvidia 560TI). I would love to go for a 1060 6GB, but cannot justify the elevated price at the moment, so was thinking of spending circa £200 on a 2nd hand card. Would this be sensible, and what could I get that would give me a reasonable upgrade for the money? Thanks in advance
  6. Thanks for your help earlier, I have now checked the serial number within my account, then linked it to my account then when i returned to the game and the module manager it gave me the option to download. Now all ive got to do is remeber everything ive forgotten about how to fly the plane over the last 5 years,
  7. Thanks. No when I was checking my account last night, only the FC3 key was listed. The A10 key is on the manual in the box. Do you know if I can add the key? Thanks for your advice. Its amazing how much i've forgotten in 4 years, I cant even remember the joystick mappings so I know I have some late nights coming up!!!
  8. I downloaded the software updates the other day, but have subsequently disabled it using InSpectre.exe. My flight sim PC is only used for gaming so there are no important accounts, passwords etc. on there.
  9. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Looks like the good news is that I can keep the CPU for now and look at upgrading the GFX card. Dont think I could justify a 1070 though, so it might have to be a 1060 6GB unless there is a huge difference in performance???
  10. After 4 years of not simming, I fancy getting back in to it. Recent videos watched of the Hornet on the Caucasus 2.5 map look stunning. My rig is getting on a bit. Will my Intel i5 2500k still be up to running DCS? Its overclocked to 4.8GHz so no slouch, but still old in technology terms. Are there big performance gains to be had with newer CPUs? or am I ok to stick with it?
  11. Thanks for the reply. The front screen of DCS has changed quite a bit since I was last on it, so I have missed something, but when I installed FC3 last night it was simple enough from the module manager, but for the A10 all I could see was a "buy" button without a way to download it and use my existing key. I will try again tonight.
  12. After a 4 year hiatus from DCS I have got the itch to start playing again, especially with the F18 imminent. I have just started reinstalling all the OS and software from scratch. I installed DCS world 1.5 last night and was able to install FC3 as I had purchased it online, however my A10c is on a disk and i no longer have a physical drive to install it. I looked within dcs world home screen and it shows the A10 and an option to buy and then says it can be downloaded from the module manager, however I see no option to download. I searched the DCS website, but upon trying to install it said the version was too old for the version of dcs world I was running. Could somebody please point me to the most recent A10c download, or am I going to have to buy another optical drive to install the media? Thanks
  13. Purchased Black Shark when it first came out, hardly played it, put it in the shelf then got involved with the A10 and forgot all about BS. Decided I fancied a change and just dug it back out and installed it. Have multi monitor all set up OK, but when you receive comms text, tasking etc. the text spans both monitors. I have searched how to remedy this and just get it on one monitor but haven't found an answer. Does anybody know how to fix this? Thanks in advance
  14. Same problem as Ramrod. I pressed F6 for weapon view and watched the CBU 105 fall and just as it was about to deploy it crashed to desktop (brand new install, latest release, all patched etc.)
  15. Had same problem tonight with no cockpit and exploding plane. Complete reinstall did the trick. Now to find out what tweaks i can do to try and get the performance of the sim somewhere near 1.1.1.1 levels, as 1.2.1 is IMO crap and makes me want to continue playing the earlier version.
  16. No, just an inert round. Has some scratches etc. on it, so its had some form of use. Though i cant imagine it would have been fired as wouldnt it have been dented/mashed up a bit?? MTFDarkEagle i got it from here: http://www.secretbunker.co.uk/acatalog/The_Secret_Shop_Bullets_2.html Whole transaction was very easy, and it was posted and delivered quickly. At the very least it makes a good paperweight!
  17. Love this game and the Hog itself, and decided my office just wasnt complete without a bullet from the GAU-8 (dont ask me why). I had no idea how big and heavy this thing was gonna be - no wonder it kills tanks. Dont think the wife will be quite so impressed, but never mind. Sorry for the massively off-topic thread, but in the A10 section seemed best.
  18. Still playing 1.1.1.1 as dcs world a10 is jerky as hell for me so am very grateful of this fix, thx.
  19. Apologies in advance as this may not be a bug at all, has probably been mentioned already, and if it is a bug its really trivial anyway But when in the Logbook assigning a squadron shouldnt the one listed as 71th Fighter Squadron actually be 71st Fighter Squadron? Sorry again, just noticed it on reinstall of 1.2 and thought i would mention it.
  20. Just wanted to add my thanks also, as this was looking like it was going to bug me
  21. Just to follow up, my new 560 arrived today and was eagerly slotted in. Wow what a difference, even above the 280gtx which isnt overly old, and is good spec this card simply smashes it. Have everything set to high, msaa at 16x, clutter and tress maxed out, mirrors, heat blur the works. Am now getting 50-60 fps at airport, and around 80 when up in the air, absolutely no stuttering, just really smooth. Amazing. Used gpuz to monitor vram, and it used up 1529mb of the 2gb, so had a bit spare. Card didnt get above 72c either. Cant wait to overclock it!
  22. Agree with noc, especially on the support missions where 2 platoons have to get to their objectives, i have no idea what i am supposed to be taking ou so i try and obliterate everything red on the map, before pressing f10 and telling them to move out. The other day i had killed practically everything bar about 2 tanks, gave them the order to move, and before i knew it the 2 platoons had been nearly obliterated, cant they fight for themselves? I quickly had to take them out before my hard working killing everything else was wasted by my tanks being lost. I havent worked up the courage to embarass myself online yet!
  23. Guys, What do you think about this card?? Would save me £100 over the 570 and looks very overclockable (enough to beat a standard 570 anyway). MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-140-MS
  24. OK thx fot the help guys, i think GTX570 with 2.5GB RAM is the way to go. I was using GPUZ to monitor a mission last night and the RAM was maxed out all the time, so some must be a good thing. Thx Craig
  25. Guys/Girls After a recent splurge on new hardware i had hoped to get great performance, but things arent quite what i think they should be, and i imagine my gfx card is the problem. Current spec is: 2500k (running watercoled at 4.8ghz) Asrock z68 extreme 4 gen 3 8GB g.skill 1600mhz 128gb crucial m4 ssd Zotac 280gtx 1gb. Have the sim set up to run dual monitor with the pit being on a 1920x1080 screen, and right mfd on a 1280x768 screen. So a total res of 3200 x 1080. Settings are: Textures high Scenes high Water medium Visib range high Heat blur off Shadows medium Cockpit diplays at 1024 Msaa 2 x Hdr off Clutter none Tress 6000 Nothing else checked Obvioulsy wood like to play with as many settings crancked as high as possible. At the moment i get around 25fps, with some deffinate stutters during high action events and around airports. I do use a trackir. Had thought my 280 gtx would be man enough, but having read a bit on the internet recently, it seems that at such high resolution the vram (??) may be the issue, with 1 gb not being enough. Would getting another 280 ( which would only cost 80 or so 2nd hand) help at all? or do i need to upgrade to maybe something like a 580 gtx with 2.5gb ram onboard - though not really sure i can stretch to that. Think i want to stick with nvidia, as i also play fsx, and ati cards always seem to have had problems, and not been so good with it. Thanks in advance
