I am experiencing exactly the same issue as you, and can also confirm that pressing Alt + Enter temporarily fixes it, then it goes bad again. really annoying, and it hasnt always been like it, so dont know whats changed? Glad its not just me though.
-
I thought it was just me. Glad i'm not the only one. Can confirm this has been an issue since getting the F16.

How to know that agm62 has entered the effective range?
parxuk replied to kaoqumba's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
As well as what Will said (you need to uncage), also remember that you need to depress the throttle designator control switch (or whatever its called). I think in the same manner as how you slew a maverick. -
With regards to my earlier post, I did some research and other people had experienced game mode being enabled after updating to Windows 10 1903. I know full well game mode was disabled on my rig prior to the update because I had read game mode was a bad thing and ensured it was off. I just checked and lo and behold it was enabled, which must have happened as a by product of the update (Microshaft know best afterall!). I have now disabled game mode and its like a new experience. Butter smooth and how it should be. Suggest anyone running 1903 check their settings and ensure game mode is disabled.

Anyone had any issues with stuttering or what looks like screen tearing since updating to Windows 10 1903? Mine was running sweet, but since it updated last week it's taken a turn for the worse which is really frustrating.

I noticed that there is a constellation and mongoose both on eBay UK at the moment. Nothing to do with me.

Can't slew TGP with any precision. What am I doing wrong?
parxuk replied to parxuk's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Thanks for the suggestion, but TGP was definitely SOI and had the white box around the screen. Kind of reassuring to know I'm not the only one experiencing this, so hopefully it will get addressed/rectified in due course. -
Can't slew TGP with any precision. What am I doing wrong?
parxuk replied to parxuk's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Thanks, but this is like a hat switch and not an axis. Still is precise enough for everything else except F16 air to ground. Bizarre. -
I know I'm doing something wrong, but as per the thread title I can't accurately slew the TGP over a target. I can move the cursor so that isn't the problem, I just can't move it precisely enough to lock anything, it just moves lots each time I press the button. I'm not a complete idiot and can do this fine in the A10, F14 and F18 so I know the button on the stick is ok, and I use the same switch for slewing the F16 in air to air, and it moves smoothly and I can lock a target no problem, just not in air to ground mode. Any ideas what I can try please?

I have an Oculus rift s. For me readability of the HUD and displays is much better in the viper than the hornet. I really struggle in the hornet and have to zoom in or lean in to read the text.
-
I think is RCS (radar cursor slew) that allows you to move the cursor over the target and then TMS up to lock (but im a real novice so could be wrong). regards

Help a noob slew using the target management switch please.
parxuk replied to parxuk's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
D'oh. That will explain it then! You are a star, thanks very much -
I know this is me and i'm doing something wrong, but I dont know what? I'm trying to lock an air to air target by slewing the target management switch over it, but I cant get the 2 vertical lines to move/slew. I believe I have the screen as the sensor of interest as there is a white box around the edge, but no matter whether I use the default keys of RCTRL and Up, Down, Left, Right, or my joystick mapping it wont slew. Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance

The Viper cockpit looks great to me using my Rift S and I can read the HUD and displays no problem. Conversely I have a terrible time reading the displays etc. in the hornet and have to zoom in to make anything legible.
-
Are you on the open beta?
-
Yeah, the cockpit looks and feels great in VR, and much clearer and more readable than the hornet (which I still love). Well done ED!

Ant0ine - Thanks, i'm going to have a look at that one. It looks good. Holbeach, my stick is well lubed (if you know what i mean). It was an improvement but I still find it not as precise as I would like. Its also showing its age with the rubber coating peeling off, and some of the axis getting very twitchy as well as a bit of throttle creep. Sokl1_br, thanks for the comprehensive list. I want to have a closer look at the Alien when its released

Pravus - thanks but the X56 may be a bit too much like my X52. I have been trying to do air to air refueling recently and that centre spring is a real pain and produces so much stiction is doesnt allow very precise movements. I have managed to overcome it by using custom curves and deadzones, but it still isnt perfect. boedha68 - appreciate the thoughts, but I do love all the buttons on the X52, and that thrustmaster doesnt seem to have as many options. Ant0ine - worried to say just in case my wife sees this post, but I would happily pay Virpil or VKB prices for the right stick. I emailed Virpil this morning and now know that the warBRD, VFX and Constellation all offer a twist axis, unfortunately none of those grips look ideal for the Hornet or Viper.

30mikemike I suffer the same as you, and found that if I turn ASW off the performance is terrible. I started this thread on the same topic recently: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=246301 For me personally the best performance increases came from turning off both cockpit global illumination and shadows. This cured all the stuttering/juddering. The best result I have had in reducing the ghosting has come from using this mod: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=250286 Just my own experiences of course.

Time will tell....

Shaders mod for better VR performance (experimental)
parxuk replied to parxuk's topic in Virtual Reality
I don't fly online. Does the mod stop working after each update? Certainly agree it would be great to have an official option to use optimised shaders to give better vr performance. -
I dont spend as much time browsing the forum as I would like, but tonight stumbled across this thread "shaders mod for better VR performance (experimental)" https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215373 I'm probably the last to the party on knowing about this, but so far i'm really pleased with the performance gain in the few flights i've had, especially in dog fights where the other planes render much better/sharper and dont look like ghosts/blurred vision when looking out the side windows as they fly by. If you havent tried it, it may be worth a look?

I know im being really dense but I dont have much experience with the mission editor and I cant figure out how to install this/get it working. There is a video on youtube but it displays as private so I cant view it. Is there another video available to show how to install/use this? Thanks

jojo, when using the debug tool to set SS at 1.5, is there a way to save that setting? Each time I reboot my PC it defaults to the standard value. Also, do you launch DCS from within the debug tool? Thanks
