CPU upgrade, is it worth it?
Andrew u.k. replied to Andrew u.k.'s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Timcat, were those settings in Multiplayer? I'm not too far off those in single offline play. Cheers -

CPU upgrade, is it worth it?
Andrew u.k. replied to Andrew u.k.'s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks, I'm not sure if the best part of £800 would be worth it. Timcat; are they high settings in VR, currently I need everything as low as it will go. -
Hi Would I see a noticeable VR performance by changing CPU. I'm using the Rift with the wire. Currently using an Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Processor i7-4790k (4.0GHz), 32 gb Ram, GTX 1070 Ti I'd upgrade CPU, ram and mother board, but keep SSDrives and graphics card. But would upgrading the processor and Ram make a large difference? Cheers

Double check you haven't got any conflicting axis commands from other inputs. I found I had vJoy conflict from another program. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

I've been using DCS on and off since the A-10 came out. But have never gone online. I'm pretty competent with the A10, Huey and F18 carrier landing. Do I need to join a group? Is TS compulsory? Are there any getting started guides with online play? I've played other online games, but this seems a little more daunting. Cheers Andrew

New VR User Question about cockpit view
Andrew u.k. replied to Justin1Ntime's topic in Virtual Reality
I'm not sure what hotas you have. But if you can start using the mapping software that came with it would be helpful in the future. It's a bit of a pain to learn, but once you have there are endless control possibilities. I also love using a finger mouse (I'm on the waiting list for a point ctrl, a finger mouse is a good cheap alternative.) https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums%2Eeagle%2Eru%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D255193&share_tid=255193&share_fid=74365&share_type=t&link_source=app Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk -
Full screen was ticked but on screen it always showed the vertical VR window, I always wondered if this was correct. I'm not sure why this is. Using the Alt + return, moves it to full screen and has solved the problem. Thanks for the replies, problem solved. Cheers Andrew Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

Bigger objects in the distance option gone?
Andrew u.k. replied to harf4ng's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Hi, Thanks David, I'm pretty pleased with this and with the explanation regarding manipulating the file. Are you still using these settings? Happy new year! Cheers Andrew -
Cheers, I'll try that. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

Hi, I'm using oculus cv1. I have the cursor confined to game window ticked. Seems like the cursor is moving out of the game window. For instance, when I realise something is up because my hotas stops working (axis commands still good though) the escape key won't work. To get it back working I have to lift goggles and look for my cursor and click back on dcs. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Andrew Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

Running stable and open beta, linking preferences etc?
Andrew u.k. replied to Andrew u.k.'s topic in Installation Problems
Thanks for the reply, will do that. Made me laugh that we both have the same join date, just a slightly different post count! -
I've got to agree with Yurgon, once you get over the hump it's really simple. EW3 really helps prompts too telling you when to retune. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

Yes, just the same, you have to look and adjust. I've also ordered the pointCNTRL but not sure if I'll get that before Christmas so this is a good stand in. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

Just left and right mouse buttons and to scroll you click a button and then use the trackball to scroll and out. I'm pretty pleased with it. Works well with vr as you only need to adjust cursor after looking. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

Finger mouse trackball
Andrew u.k. replied to Andrew u.k.'s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Tiny track ball to the top left, and usual mouse buttons. Scroll works really well. It just sits on your index finger and you work it with your thumb. -
I just posted this in the VR forum but it's well worth a look for non VR pilots also. A mini trackball stuck to your finger. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=255127

I think that's a different one, this one has a trackball so no surface is needed. I looked at those, I believe that's an optical mouse. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

Really quick delivery. I'm absolutely blown away how well this works. It fits best on my left hand, there's nothing on the throttle that gets in the way, it didn't quite work on my right because of the stick grip (x56). It's easy to move the cursor without taking hands off hotas, scroll works superbly, click the scroll button and then it's just a case of moving the trackball up and down. Mouse buttons also worked well. After using for 10 mins I'd have to say its the best £20 flight sim purchase I've made. Instructions are in French, but it's pretty simple to connect. The on off button is on the back under the left mouse button. It took me a few minutes to find that. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
