  1. As used by the USAAF Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  2. Point ctrl works exceptionally well. I use in the a10, that's got lots of buttons, I gave my mfds away as i never used them again. I'm going to fix a light weight board to a light weight chair so hopefully that will work. Not many people use a board and you can just wave your hand in the air. It is hand tracking in a 3d space. Works like Trackir but for your hands and with left and right button and a scroll button. So the same functionality as a mouse. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  3. if you fly DCS in VR you need pointctrl. https://pointctrl.com/
  4. Yes, here it is. https://andres.shop/software/20-simshaker-for-dcsw-sound-module-key.html
  5. https://andres.shop/jetseat/24-vibrating-pad-simshaker-jetpad-fse.html I used to have just the shakers and the software, (buy that from his site) but I also bought the jet seat that took a few weeks to deliver, but came a week early than shipping suggested . Well worth having the seat as you can feel the difference in the different parts of your body. Bass shakers work really well as background. Have you heard of pointctrl? 6. It brings the whole thing alive. Drop the gear you get a solid clunk. Start the apu you get a higher pitched whir under your bum. Get the main engines running you can feel the heavier vibration. Drop the canopy, get a vibration in your back and then clunk. A10c gun get the full vibration. Brrrrr. In the huey, low rev you feel a long beat. Best is leaving ETL, effective transional lift, you feel it kicking in and know when to feed in power. When flying in vr it gives you a sense of feel. I can't recommend it enough. I have Andre's jet seat and also 2 bass shakers wired to a car amp. The jet seat gives me all of the individual vibration and the bass shakers give me the engine, I have my hotas attached to the chair so this shakes and vibrates from the bass shakers and gives a real sense of being in the flying vibrating machine. 7. A chap in our squadron has the H2, he's had it for 2 years now. The new ones have been upgraded since. Still says it performs well and the software has improved. He turns it off now and again just to see what he's missing. He still absolutely loves it. He flies in VR and doesn't have problems, I think he has the Rift S. The H2 can be upgraded for more cash later. I have a jet seat sim shaker and additional bass shakers, I couldn't live without them. On the Q& A part of their website. Most customers find no need for motion cancellation / compensation https://youtu.be/oi8yvWzZXVw. But we have different ways to provide motion Compensation cancellation. In some articles you may find two terms – motion Compensation and motion Cancellation used to describe the same goal. However, motion Compensation is the proper term to define the actions to compensate the head movements caused by motion simulator so it doesn’t affect the players view. You can use any VR set with or without the external reference tracking camera like (Rift or Vive). We have many users reporting better results when camera(s) mounted in front of the platform making sure it is always visible from any helmet location. We include mounts for Oculus as Vive is easy to mount on the top of the seat For all WMR VR with inbuild tracking (Rift S, PiMax, Odyssey, Vive) just cover the sensors with soft tape or self stick pads (like furniture legs self adhesive protection pads): Oculus VR Motion Cancellation https://dofreality.com/OpenVR.pdf HTC Vive – Vive Pro VR Motion Cancellation Setup Guide https://dofreality.com/HTCMotionCancellation.pdf
  8. Thanks for all the advice. I'm now going to postpone purchasing anything until the Autumn, thanks for ruining the summer :( The Reverb G2 looks really impressive and i didn't realise the price point would be so low. Has anyone pre-ordered? This preview will make you want to. But it just seems to good to be true.
  9. The H6 looks fantastic. I know someone with the H2, he loves that and he's still married. Always a compromise
  10. That G2 looks great, I doubt if my budget will stretch that far as I'm also jumping on the DoF Reality chair setup..... Like you say, I think there's probably not too much between AMD and intel, it all depends on how much you want to spend and follow the price vs FPS curve.
  11. That's perfect, thanks. Explains the difference between 2070 and 2080 and the reason. I think I'll use your specs too. Thanks again. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  12. Hi all, I'm about to build or order a new PC. I currently have 10 year old 4790K and a 1070ti 32ram with CV1 rift. Honestly every time I put the headset on I'm amazed by how cool it all looks and that's with everything on minimal settings. I'm coming from the C64 and Amiga, so this is all beyond my wildest dreams as a kid, even with lots of years under my DCS belt. I'm in a lucky position to upgrade, comes every decade :megalol: What I would like to know is; is the extra 11GB so much better than the 8GB i.e. £300 better. And what about the difference between 2070 to 2080. Is it worth it. I'm not waiting for the next best thing. I'll be upgrading in the next few weeks. I'll probably only upgrade my Rift to an S. If anyone wants to chip in with a good build for around £2,000 or less that would make it simple. Choosing the Ram and motherboard that work well with it, and fit, to be honest, that confuses the hell out of me, when I read that 2x 16 is better than 4x 8 depending on the motherboard and PCIE routes......or something like that. I'm a builder, but a house builder (bricks and timber):helpsmilie:
  13. Yes please, I'd definitely like one. Do I need to pm you? Do you have a procedure for ordering yet? Cheers Andrew Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  14. Very happy with mine still. Can't fly without them. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  15. I'm using oculus and tried to figure out how to get the overlay working in vr. Am I right that it works with steam but not stand alone version and oculus mirror of dcs? Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  16. Bad link I think. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  17. Trust me, it works with butt kicker with the add on. Make sure you get aviators. Honestly dcs is empty without it. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  18. Hi, You need sim shaker aviators and butt kicker add on. Take a look at Andre's website. Make sure you buy aviators not the other one. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  19. That's cool, thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of using a graphics pad as a knee board and have it positioned on my knee in VR. So what I write appears in the cockpit. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  20. Flying through the Larkin campaign. It's very good. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  21. Honestly, get Pointctrl. It's absolutely amazing in vr. I couldn't go back to trackir after Vr. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  22. Or cricket pitches. But almost every field has a tractor. It's a great looking map, I had a low, slow flight round in a Huey. I think the contrast and look of the villages and towns is nearly spot on, or it will be when the churches have been added. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  23. I fly with RAFair. I just took a new member for a training flight, he used to sim but newish to dcs. Honestly it was great talking through the various systems, guiding him on to a target with SADL and finish with him dropping his first gbu on a bmp. I could tell how impressed he was with the systems, how they all work so well. It made me realise what a great module the A10c really is. Single player missions are good to get to grips with it, Baltic dragon's campaign is superb, but the A-10C really comes alive when in multiplayer, passing targets, using 3 radios, and all the other systems. Buy it, and join a decent multiplayer squadron. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk
  24. Hook it, make it SPI and hit red CNTCO. Cheers Emmy.
