  1. Yeah, those night missions are very difficult with the current Huey lighting. I ended up having to change the mission time in the editor to a couple of hours earlier, which made the mission possible as it was still light. Doesn't give the same challenge as the author intended, but was still enjoyable to fly. Hopefully the lighting effects get fixed soon...
  2. Nope, changing building type had no effect.
  3. Yeah that roof... I couldn't manage to find the sweet spot after around 6 landing attempts. Always bounced off the invisible pieces of building. Going to change the building ('railway station') to 'garage A' to see if that fixes the collision issue. Very frustrating...
  4. Bump regarding compatibility with 2.5? Should we be expecting to be making edits to mission files to get them working?
  5. Bump. Does anyone have the files on their PC. Would be eternally grateful if you could upload them. Hawgtouch is a great piece of software.
  6. Yeah, make sure that your laser rangefinder is switched on so that the shkval knows where it is looking.
  7. Yeah, definitely reset trim, and if you're still rolling around, perhaps reduce rotor rpm with that toggle switch on the collective. I don't know if that would make much difference though...
  8. You might be thinking of the anti-skid switch
  9. There is no such thing as an 'arcade flight sim' :no_sad: It's either one or the other...
  10. Same here - I've lost count of how many times I've skidded around after touching down... :music_whistling:
  11. I agree, it would be nice to have it back. But only if it isn't to time consuming for the devs to implement.
  12. I use uTorrent as well, have done so for a while and trust them implicitly. Yes, you just have to be careful which torrents you use. ED is definitely trustworthy, but for other torrents you should always be cautious.
  13. Wow! I'd like to see what that looked like from an external view.
  14. There is already a great resource available that will show you all there is to know about the MFCDs. Its called the Flight Manual
  15. I doubt that the USAF would release enough information on the F-117 to make a remotely credible simulation. Then again, we have the A-10C, so who knows? :joystick:
  16. Hi all, I've heard about Ricardo's HD cockpit, as well as the 6DOF cockpit for the SU-25T, but have been: a) Unable to confirm whether these mods are compatible with DCS World. b) Unable to locate where the 6DOF cockpit can be downloaded. c) Unable to figure out how to install Ricardo's HD cockpit mod - readme says to use 'Modman', is this compatible with DCS World? I'd expect not..? Thanks to anyone who can help :)
  17. I had the same problem flying that mission just an hour or so ago. Engine power wasn't settling, even when I reduced manifold pressure. Then I realised that I still had the mixture set to emergency rich - setting it to the middle position fixed the engine problem immediately. So I'd definitely agree with everyone else recommending that action. Fun mission though, almost had a disaster when flying the landing circuit at the destination airport. Engine ran out of gas at just the wrong time. Got it hooked up to the next tank just in time :music_whistling:
  18. So has anyone else noticed the new explosion in the beta? You can see it when you fire rockets into the ground, and I just wanted to say that it looks great. You can see dirt been thrown out from the impact point and it really is an improvement over the other explosions, in my opinion anyway  Hoping to see more such explosions when DCS: World is released properly :D
  19. If you haven't tried head-tracking before, you really should try it. Makes for a far more enjoyable experience in my opinion. Plus you can free up the thumb stick for something else, trim for example. If you're worried about the price of the ridiculously expensive TrackIR, you should check out FreeTrack. Does the same thing as TrackIR except the software is free. All you need to do is get a webcam, make a small modification to it, then build yourself a simple hat/clip with infra-red LEDs on it and presto - head tracking for the masses. :D
  20. Personally, I've got no problems sticking to the Georgia/Russia map, its plenty big enough for me. Nevertheless, for people who want the opportunity to explore other locations, don't forget about that Nevada map in the works. And I'm sure ED will have more maps modules available for download in future :)
  21. If it does have star-force I'm sure it will be the friendly version of starforce, not the awful drivers that screw your system over...
