8GB of RAM is more than enough for DCS. Along with mirrors, Depth of Field settings are a frame rate killer. Try turning that off.

^ Maybe this. I had issues with PAC and an ED member told me: "The EAC and it's dependencies are essential for PAC to work. You will notice the nose move a bit down when engaging PAC mid-air. If any of the EAC's dependencies is gone, apart from the warning indication you will notice PAC, EAC will deactivate and the nose lift a bit. Also opening the air refueling door, disengages both EAC and PAC... unfortunately that is one of the most inconvenient moments to lift the nose." Basically, make sure the Autopilot system is armed or else PAC will not function.

:) Thank you. Read the FAQ but couldn't find this anywhere.

Is this where I go to install the beta? Or is this just for updates?

Same here.

Looking for newbie players to match in dogfighting
jkeiltaylor replied to lesnyborsuk's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
I'll join you. I'm not a rookie but I'm certainly no expert and I need to practice against humans. I fly the 109. -
The .exe file installs the video files into the proper folders. Then, you view the videos from within DCS World itself. It shouldn't matter if it is the Steam version, as long as the installer is pointing to the correct directory.

I believe training material is installed separately. On the DCS Website, go to Downloads/Video.

Adding a modifier to your controls will nearly double the available buttons to map on your flight stick. This won't help with multiple keys for one action, but it will give you more available buttons on your controller.

I'm still trying to understand all of this so I'm sorry if this is a noobish question...the manual labels that gauge as supercharger pressure. So because the supercharger is controlling the air pressure, it is also an indicator of manifold pressure?
-
Understood, thanks.
-
The manual says, "Please note that, unlike in many Allied aircraft, the Manifold Pressure gauge is used to set power in the Bf 109K-4. The Tachometer merely provides feedback from the engine." What gauge shows the Manifold Pressure? Is it the same as the MW-50 gauge?

Steam is showing Oct. 1st? I couldn't find this on the forum.

This!!!

I'm loving the 1.2.8 update! Will a flight manual be released for the TF-51D? Or should I just refer to the P-51D manual? (I do not own the P-51D)

possible to show enemy labels only?
jkeiltaylor replied to k0braka1's topic in Mission Editor Issues
Not that I am aware of. Seems to be all or nothing for the labels. I have labels mapped to an obsure button on my flight stick so I can easily toggle them on and off in case there is too much clutter. -
FaceTrackNoIR v170 released!
jkeiltaylor replied to V4Friend's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This might help with the rotation/non-responsive problems people are having: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33137&highlight=external+view+rotate Also, you can limit the pilot view axis by adjusting the curves in FTnoIR if using the FreeTrack 2.0 protocol. -
FaceTrackNoIR v170 released!
jkeiltaylor replied to V4Friend's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I am having the same exact problem as #1 above except it will also spin nonstop in my cockpit view as well. Half of the time it works beautifully, but sometimes in the cockpit view, it rotates vertically nonstop as soon as the game loads up. It acts as if I'm constantly holding the "view up" button. Maybe there is a conflict with my key mappings now that I have head tracking in there? I've tried removing some but to no avail. Unlike vjamiko, this was a fresh install for me as I have never used any sort of head tracking before. -
1280 X 720 Resolution
jkeiltaylor replied to jkeiltaylor's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
OK, great to know. Thank you. -
I was surprised to not see 1280 X 720 as an option for resolutions. It works so well for many games on my PC! I find I get a nice increase in FPS with little to no noticed loss of quality. I wonder if this can be added?
-
I see. So basically PAC works through autopilot. Makes sense. Thank you.
-
The PAC does not seem to engage unless autopilot is armed. I only noticed this after 1.2.1 was released so wasn't sure if it was always like that. Is that right?
