Can somebody please have a look into how the chinese stuff provided/modified by Deka is modelled? Our squadron did a mission with mostly/only chinese AI. 1) Blue ships wont defend against Chinese ASW. (Tested with USS Arleigh Burke, Tarawa, Abraham Lincoln, STennis and Perry class) 2) Chinese missiles (HHQ9) fired from Type 052B/C Destroyers and the 054A Frigate don't bleed their energy the same way as other missiles when at max range. They start out with Mach 4 and self destruct/despawn when reaching their maximum range at Mach 2 (!!). They are shot at targets even when outside their threat circle. 3) Chinese missiles HHQ16 are always fired in pairs (When defending against Harpoons for example) and have a next to 100% hit percentage. (regardless of skill) Also they don't bleed energy to zero. They self destruct/despawn at Mach 1.8 (!!). SO either their range or the energy-retention is questionable. Compare that to a RIM-66 (Blue missile) which will bleed out to Mach 0.8. Russian S-10s launch at Mach4 and bleed out to 0.3 before despawning/self-destructing at max range. The reload-time on the ships is "amazing" they can spit out a constant stream of SAMs until depleted.. I am no expert in ships but just by comparing them to other ships (blues..) I'd say they're off.. Seeing launchers on the decks made for 2-4-8 being INSTANTLY reloaded is strange. Cheers Khegrow

Hi guys, this is drving me nuts so maybe anyone got an idea. Currently regardless of MODE of Radar (TWS or RWS). I will lose lock precisely the moment I launch an AIM-120C... it's like he Missile is blocking the radar. Worse still you can't re-obtain a lock as the radar will rather immediately pick up a target 120nm away instead of the two ship I just tried to intercept at 25nm heading for me. So you forfeit every advantage you have and next you know you're dodging missiles because you can't get a lock. Any ideas? Cheers

Translucent Aircraft Shelters and possibly other terrain features..
Khegrow replied to Khegrow's topic in Bugs and Problems
@Moderators: please delete... posten in wrong forum .. sorry -
Title says it all. The terrain shelters are translucent. Light will pass and no shadows are generated.. Screenshots below You can see the position of the sun by the shadows (it's at the 5o clock of the F16) Cheers Khegrow

Grisha(Ship) isn't correctly rendered at longer distances.
Khegrow replied to Khegrow's topic in Bugs and Problems
@Mod please delete.. posted in wrong forum.. sorry.. -
Again title says it all. Realised that I had serious problems finding a Grisha which was escorting some freighters.. I could find the freighters at angels 25 but not the Grisha. Redid the test as below and you can see the LOD/Model isn't rendered correctly at long ranges.. The ship in question The setup (close) Zoomed out to just about critical distance (Watch the ship in the centre).. And just ONE more click zoomed out... GONE! Cloaking devices eh? ;) As we'Re on it. Redid the test with all russian ships. Bug also affects the Rezky... see below Setup Max distance BEFORE drawing problem Vanished Grisha and Rezky (which is quite astonishing as it's not a small ship..) Cheers Khegrow

Hi Guys, I am having serious issues with the Hornet and it's increasingly difficult to Lock a target. Most of the time you see it on the SA page you see it on the RWS and you can' lock it up. up to the point when you can SEE the target and it's below 20nm and stil you can't lock it. I check antenna tilt, bars... no change. It seems like a matter of luck. I had a JF-17 running HOT on me being higher. I see it on radar turn into it, switch A-A and GONE...empty.. SA-Page clean, Radar-Clean, bandit gone (he was above..so no ground clutter). I reduce radar to 20nm centered and I see smoke from his Fox3 towards me but my radar is blind.. So anyone experiencing the same or knows a cure because this hasn't been that way before TWS was introduced . Cheers Khegrow

[ALL MODULES][SP/CO-OP] Liberation Dynamic Campaign
Khegrow replied to shdwp's topic in User Created Missions General
Hi There, maybe I am doing something wrong but here's my list of thing that happen with the current version. 1) Started campaign on caucasus. Hornet spawned on Tarawa. 2) CAS mission: Although briefing is reporting APcs BTRs (read: Targets) etc. even if all units visible is enabled on F10 map they can't be found. 3) SEAD/STRIKE: same.. 4) Cold start only works on a carrier (correct carrier is set in PG map) 5) Caucasus: trying to take off from Slugan results in planes starting mid-air (cold start was enabled) Using 1.5.. In case I am missing something please point me to it. Friendly aircraft are spawned correctly. Cheers Khegrow -
Maverick MFD export too dark (a10c)
Khegrow replied to Deft's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for your help. I might add that if you do that, then the game will lament that the file was modified and stop working. This "issue" is very prominent on the Viper now. Fun-fact: if you open the TGP and switch to external views..then suddenly the the exported displays work as intended (no longer dark..) Anybody found a solution for that`? Cheers Khregrow -
Pylon=Station You program 2 targets per Station. If all goes well you can cycle once through all. Let's assume you start at Station 2 2 - pickle pp1 8 - pickle pp1 3 - pickle pp1 7 - pickle pp1 ***Now after that one you'll return to 2 - pp1 (!!!) you now have to press PP2 on mpcd -> Pickle 8 -> pp1(!!) again... This is GREAT for volleybombing something into oblivion. However.. see my post above. If you programmed some stations for targets that are further away (say: different waypoint being 30nm away) take extreme care...

Don't know whether it's been reported. Currently if you program 4 stations the auto/step will not work correctly. I had 4 stations (2 bombs each) . I reserved two stations for Target A and the other 2 for B. When starting the firing sequence it may happen that it doesn't step through the stations at all. (had left MPCD on JSOW - display, right on Stores page for confirmation). After dropping 1 bomb from station 2 it wouldn't step to the next stations if the targets are not close to each other. If you do it manually the station in the MPCD doesn't seem to be the one which will actually fire. I had half of my load prorgammed to a different target (some 50nm away) and I stepped "over" the stations reserved for that. However, after firing 4 of the stations (checked in both MPCDs) I found that I couldn't return to the still armed stations because they have been fired. I was firing different stations than the ones shown in the Stores and JSOW MSN page.. In case I am missing some detail let me know. Trying to create a trk file now.

JSOW-A useless? Hi Guys, anyone having positive experience with JSOW-As? From what I've understood is that they're not meant for armour (tanks), but I've tried them on Kub 2P25 ln -> No effect. The canister opens at 700, I see the rain-of-death but it's not killing anything. Maybe I am spoiled by my Warthog's CBU-99s but these kill everything if they open at 900ft (less above..) . Maybe I am doing something wrong but taking out SAM-sites with these doesn't seem to work... :(

[NO BUG] Missing Step Function in MPCD when armed with JSOWs
Khegrow replied to Khegrow's topic in Bugs and Problems
Can someone please clarify how to setup 8 JSOWs on 8 targets? So far for me it was 1) select Station X 2) Program Target 1 3) Program Target 2 4) Select Station =! X 5) Goto 1 For using them: 1) Ingress 2) Select JSOW Page -> MSN 3) Remember which station you're starting on (let's call it X) 4) Fire all JSOWs in Range on their first target. 5) when back on STation X -> choose target 2 -> Fire 6) next station, repeat 5 until out of jsows.. So how is that done now? Can I program more then 5 targets ? Just confused... -
Hi guys, I am having a hard time figuring out what to do in order to export the ADI, RWR and HSI of the A-10C. I am mostly a A-10C and Hornet driver. I have a big screen for the sim and a small 20" screen in front of it (Glued on Cougars..) for my exports. The F/A-18 exports work fine (way too dark, but that's a different issue) but the A-10C is limited to the MFCDs which is..not enough ;) my monitor.lua looks like that any clue how to add the missing instruments? Cheers Khegrow

F/A-18C AGM-88 not being able to lock SA-19 Tunguska?
Khegrow replied to T_STRONG_SHARK's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I struggle with the same problem. I can see the Tunguska popping up as an S6 the in the RWR and it's close (down -10 ° in the hud). I'll hand off target, point at it (being 25k or higher and about 5-7nm) and still. The moment I fire the Harm will go UP and... sky's the limit. They WONT hit.. Mode used: Too So when it's popping up on RWR it must use it's radar right? ;) Any ideas? -
Hi Guys, short question. I don't have a "ViewportHandling.lua" where or how do I get one? Since I see it's being referenced I guess that's the reason it's not working for me. I am able to export MFCDs without problems. Cheers Khegrow

Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
Khegrow replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Hi guys, thanks for helping me .. So as for the Windows Desktop is perfect. So yes the Screen-Flip works fine here. Also please note that if I pick the default config provided in the game (3 screens). All screens work and display what I expect to see. The PROBLEM is that DCS is assuming that all monitors have same size and thus divides the resolution (1200 + 2560 + 1200) / 3..this is well weird. Now back to what I have here.. Yes the game detects the correct total resolution. Its 4960 x 1600 changed LUA-file to contain correct aspects.. Screenshot showing the result of the LUA file :( Second screenshot showing the problem I have with the default LUA file provided by DCS. Red Bar is where the game "assumes" my screens end, green bar is where they SHOULD be.. Edit: I've turned them normal and edited the file accordingly. same problem.. It's like the game wont handle different resolutions here :( -
Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)
Khegrow replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Messed up.. Hi Guys, I am somewhat desperate. I've read through the first pages and tried to modify my own lua file but it doesn't help. So maybe someone can lend a hand. I've got 3 screens Left: 1200 x 1600 (it's a vertically flipped 20" screen) Center: 2560 x 1600 (30") Right: (same as left.. same monitor) I flipped the small ones vertically to have the same resolution vertically. I dived into the 3camera.lua and made a copy. I need to edit it because as per default DCS is assuming 3 identical monitors thus mein Center Monitor is jagged .. as the game is assuming its 1653 ixels and not 2560.. I tried the following setup without any big success.. The result is something totally weird.. The only thing I can think of is the aspect ratio but then again I don't understand why it's replicating parts of the center cockpit to the left and right. Does anyone see what I am missing here?
