Can anyone confirm this finding? Are there any suggestions? so long Mathias

Well I reckon these calculations are off. Not because I assume the shkval should work flawlessly. I always thought it was intended this way. Nevertheless it gave me the idea to recheck a problem I had a while ago with BS1 (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=79476). It would be nice if we could enter coordinates, that are talked to us (via TS/Vertigo/Mumble) by a A10 searching the area, but it never worked as intended because the height was always of when you tried to slew the shkval to a entered NAV/TGT point. So I did two tracks, one on a heigh airfield, one on an airfield near the sea. In the heigh track you can see that the range assumption of the shkval fits the entered NAV/TGT exactly, while the automaticly created target has the wrong range in the abris, although the coordinates are exactly the same. On the other hand, the shkval turns to the correct point when using the automaticly created NAV/TGT point and is either to heigh or to low (tracks are named accordingly) when using the entered one. so long Mathias ins low.trk ins heigh.trk

Hi I just played around with some custom curves to allow lighter inputs from my ministick. The problem I encountered is, that if you choose a value below 6 for your custom curve, the shkval is not moving at all. And 6 is still a bit to fast to precisely aim at 7km+. I don't know if a track would help but I could provide one where I set all custom curve values to 5. The only thing you would see is that I am unable to move my shkval though. Binding a cooliehat as shkval controller also isn't an option, because even with a deadzone set at 100%, the (very very small) jitter from the ministick is blocking these input. EDIT: The same is true for the A-10. If you choose a custom curve thats all set to 5, no sensor movement of the tgt-pod or the mavericks is possible so long Mathias

Asked so myself and got the answer that it is a correct behaviour: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81422

Sorry I haven't tried it yet. Next week I have to deliver my diploma thesis so I am currently working 10 hours a day and have absolutely no time aside from a little procrastinating in this forum. After I have finished the diploma thesis and after got really really drunk, sober up and got drunk again I will look into it :-) If it still works and if I find the time, maybe I write a Python program to ease the process of creating custom loadouts. It would be a nice project to explore Windows GUI programming. so long Mathias

Any new FFB on a horizon?
Nobody96 replied to 4c Hajduk Veljko's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thats the mail I received: "As soon as I get closer to the final product I can send you some computer graphics of the core-unit. The specs will be the same as the standard Hawk, but it will be somewhat lower in price. Unfortunately the hydraulics make up for the major part of the price. In addition we try to get in contact with people / clubs or companies that want or produce grips. We want to be able to offer a wide variety of grips. The official announcement will be made in November at the Lelystad flight-sim event. In the mean time, please spread the news. The more input I get about demands and wishes, the easier it will be to incorporate them into the design. Early next year there will also be an extra strong flour unit. ( > 50Nm torque )" so long Mathias -
The reversal bug is provided by Logitech. Its hard to explain: Pushing your throttle to 50% and than pulling it to 49% doesnt work. The next reported value is 46% or something in that range. These jump occur every time you change the input direction and often mean that you can either climb or fall but the position to hold your height is not reachable. Using the rudder to drive your a10 down the runway is also pretty hard because to much left or to much right is nothing you want to choose during takeoff. All 7 sliders and the ministick are affected by this bug. It has been there from the beginning people are still hoping that logitech will fix them. sry for the rant could't help it so long Mathias

Don't waste your money on a g940 like I did. Because of the reversal bug its just a piece of crap. Today I finally got rid of the throttle and currently am only using the stick in combination with a bodnar modded cougar throttle and the saitek rudder pedals. In the end I would have been better of if I had bought a x52pro and married the its stick with a ffb2. so long Mathias

Any new FFB on a horizon?
Nobody96 replied to 4c Hajduk Veljko's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I was in contact with paccus electronics (paccus.com). They are planing to build a ffb stick with +50lb force that you can place on the ground. Also it comes without a grip so you can add a custom one. so long Mathias -
Bloddy hell, these missions are putting a pretty heavy load on my system. Its barely playable as a host. Nevertheless we tried the Hardcore Terrorist mission and it was a lot of fun :-) so long Mathias

Aside from the Shkval search funktion you should also verify that the range the Shkval is reporting is correct. If I am correct she uses it to determine the slew speed and stabilization angle, so when the range is off and she tries to stabilize, she instead slews violently. Also when the Shkval was following a target she maintains the following mode even if the target is lost. To check if it is a problem that is related to your hardware, it maybe good to eliminate this reason for slewing also. so long Mathias

Its a rule of software development that, if you double the team working on a mature project, you double the time it will need to be completed. so long Mathias

Done, even if its just a small amount, but being a student its all I can afford right now. Hopefully more people will join and aid you to "sleek the waves" :-) so long Mathias

I reckon the classic will be not as old as a P51 would be, because it would mean that all the stuff you can currently shoot at wouldn't fit. Therefore I think and hope its will be something like the Phantom 2. so long Mathias

Just try to talk a buddy who is flying an A10 to a Roland you spotted. Ready for 9-line? Its just awesome :-) so long Mathias

Talking about many cpu-cores: You both know that most of the work done by the Top-500 supercomputers is calculating exactly this sort of weather prediction. You have to scale it down massively or else you would need a pretty big machine. The Earth Simulator was built for this kind of work and has 5120 vector processors, just to clarify what I mean with big :-) so long Mathias

That does not work, because its an bug in BS2 or else it wouldn't work in FD mode either. @Nate, I hope you will keep us posted. Using the FD mode all the time really isn't a solution. You mentioned it yourself: sometimes you want to use the route ap. so long Mathias

Thanks for the info Nate. I was just wondering if the Vikhrs isn't slightly overpowered this way. I now regularly kill a MBT with just one of them. so long Mathias

Hi Just a quick question. Have there been any changes to the damage model? I have the feeling that the damage done by some weapons has increased. I can kill a Abrahams with a single Vikhrs now, even if I hit him frontal. Also it is much easier to blow up stuff with the KOM rockets now. Also my shark has been completely disintegrated by a direct hit from a T-72 gun, whereas in BS-1.0.2 I always managed to eject at least. so long Mathias

Already? Honestly? You really are working your ass of. We we should look for a way to collect a few bucks so we could pay you and your girlfriend a nice candlelight dinner in return. so long Mathias

Since you are using FFB, your problem might be known and hopefully worked on: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80992 so long Mathias

A10 & BS2 missions anyone (request)?
Nobody96 replied to dikkeduif's topic in User Created Missions General
Indeed it was :-) Having a A10 as SEAD is pretty awesome when you hover around in your phone booth. Also know there is a use case for the creation of NAV TGTs with the shkval. so long Nobody96 -
I have a g940 also and I didn't know that the spring effect should be less while holding the trimmer. The option Nath mentioned is unticked in my settings and if I fly at low speeds in RoF there is nearly no spring effect. so long Mathias
