  1. I click the CLEAR button. Also I use CLEAR CATEGORY sometimes. Both works fine if there is only one modifier used or if the modifiers happen to be 'in order' For me the editor of choice is Emacs :-) -Mathias
  2. I just realized that all DCS titles are affected. I therefore opened up a new thread in the DCS World section of the forums: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2193285 -Mathias
  3. Hi I am currently unable to unbind some key-bindings that are using more than 1 modifier. The issue is present and reproducible in all DCS Titles. It seems to be related to the order the "reformers" in the Keyboard.diff.lua are in. Unbind 'Wheel brake Parking' for the TFT51D module Restart DCS Wheel brake Parking is reverted back to 'LAlt + LCtrl + W' Close DCS, open the Keyboard.diff.lua file with your editor of choice Find the diff for "Wheel brack Parking" Change '[1] = "LAlt", [2] = "LCtrl",' to '[1] = "LCtrl", [2] = "LAlt",' Restart DCS Find that the the binding is gone. -Mathias
  4. Thanks for your help. I found a file named modifiers... something in the A10 config folder. After deleting it the modifiers worked as expected. The issue that I cannot unbind some of the keys (3rd Fuel Tanks Group, Fuel Pump Off) remains though. I did a complete reinstall and did not using any old config files. Can anyone reproduce this? -Mathias
  5. Why does ED not provide an API to standardize this? Seems like every 3rd party is trying to reinvent the wheel here. Fiirst Belsimtek with their toggle-switches only approach, now Letherneck with their no toggle-swichtes approach. -Mathias
  6. Hi, I am unable to unassign JOY_BTN4 (paddle switch on my Warthog) as a modifier. I can do so during a misson. As soon as the mission finishes, the settings reverts to default. Same goes for a lot of other keys: 3rd Fuel Tanks Group, Fuel Pump Off ABS Off ARK Off ASP-17 Gunsight Off ... Tried so far: Removing all User\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\MiG-21Bis config files Removign all User\Saved Games\DCS config files To reproduce: use clear category on all keys restart DCS Check for keys beeing set I could use some feedback if someone is able to reproduce this also. Thanks Mathias
  7. Why is that? I mean, at an high AoA you push the tail of the plane into the turn so to speak. If that tail is longer, I would assume that it creates more drag. Just wondering... -Mathias
  8. All young people in Germany are pretty smart, not only pilots. At least that's what I thought when I was younger. And I must know, since I am from Germany :-) But puns aside, I think the problem we all suffer is that we are trying to land props as we have been landing jets. I recently had the chance to land a Cessna (I know) and boy was I in for a surprise when I was asked to aim with the nose for the end of the runway all the way down to the flare. Afterwards I tried to land this way in the P51 and then the Fw190 and it makes things a lot easier. Landing the A10 and F16 by placing the donut on the runway and keeping an eye out for the AOA is nothing you can do in a prop driven kite I guess. Diving for the runway also has the benefit of being able to see the runway regardless of how long and big the engine in front of you is. My technique currently: ~ 20-30 deg. dive, idle throttle, gear and flaps out which keeps here around 280. Then flare pretty late and let her settle at all 3 points. It only works most of the time so don't follow this stuff to the letter. -Mathias
  9. Nice explanation, thanks. I just guessing here, but one could go a step further and think it is a realistic behavior to go to INR tracking once the M indication comes on. If I recall correctly, this indication comes on way before the actual masking occurs and I think the reason is, to prevent the contrast tracking from accidentally picking up a contrast on the aircraft itself. Compared to tracking a rivet on one of your weapon stations, going INR tracking is definitely a better solution. Doing this before the actual masking occurs makes sure that it works even on faster jets or during violent maneuvering. Just as an idea. -Mathias EDIT: just realized that there were more posts at the end of the thread and that hcf has already said what I was trying to say here.
  10. Definitely. But I think everyone who really wanted to join LLTM2014 and could make it is already coming. Still, you don't have enough people, so might have to focus on the lot that didn't know why to come. I am happy that you guys are still trying to make LLTM2014 an awesome event, despite the lack of participants and the frustration that goes with it. I really hope there will be a LLTM2015 so everything you learned along the way, the contacts you got and especially the team you guys formed will not go to waste. If you do, I promise I will step forward earlier and if possible help you. -Mathias
  11. And here I was hoping for the FW190 or EDGE...
  12. For me personally, I think the page was way to complicated. I still cannot find a path through it to lookup where and when LLTM2014 will be. Also, I without any background, one would think that the actual event is only a small part of your business because the side offers so much more information in its 11 categories + forum. Try to focus the page on the main topic. Provide one news line, not 4 1/2 (?) and one summary category (location + prices + ...) And please, ask a decent designer to straighten up your color scheme. But hey, maybe its just me and my work at a web agency that made me picky :-) Hope I could help. -Mathias
  13. Right now I assume, there is a really big issue with the ED development code they base their code on . All projects are short on news and ED is silent to. Hopefully the don't resolve the stuff quick and dirty by patching everything up but prevent the current issues from happening in the future (read unit-tests and ci) -Mathias
  14. Technical? Sounds like a vid or a bunch of screenshots are being prepared. :-) -Mathias
  15. maybe this can be of use to check your data: http://www.metriber.com/tech/apps-and-softwares/how-to-do-aerodynamic-simulations-on-your-computer/ -Mathias
  16. There are no update on this topic, are there? After being flying the P-51 for a while, I am missing the possibility to grope my way through the cockpit / over the keyboard without looking at the current setting again. -Mathias
  17. Can anyone tell me if the "thumb-slider", used here for speedbrakes, is an axis? I loved this feature on my old x52 to handle zooming in and out. -Mathias
  18. Hey, thanks for all the answers. On a second try, I kept my temperatures a little lower and "cleaned out" the engine after the transition from low to high blower and all worked like a charm. -Mathias
  19. Hi, I couldn't find a complete list of the changelogs anywhere so I am wondering if carburetor icing is modeled yet. I took the P-51 for a ride the other day and my engine died of a piston seizure at angles 20. Before that happened, all temperatures where fine and I wasn't even running on full continuous because the engine was running rough. The carburetor temperature was quite low, but during the short time I switched to full mil it got up and the engine was running smooth again. Thats why I suspected carburetor icing, but than all I could find in the forum is that it is not implemented currently. -Mathias
  20. I had the x65f (send it back) and have currently the TMWH, FFB2, G940 stick and Cougar Throttle available. TMWH: metal tons of buttons only a small amount of axis for zoom, prop pitch, ... the mini stick on the throttle to control the targeting pot is worse than on any other stick x65f: metal force sensing smoothest throttle I tested so far tons of buttons but not as intuitive as the TMWH only a 1 stage trigger not enough axis (not even the famous zoom axis of the x45 is a axis anymore) impossible to use the throttle separately since only the stick as a usb connector FFB2 I use it and love it for everything that needs force feedback (P51, Ka50) Cougar Throttle I use this one for everything that needs more axis than the TMWH provides (P51, Huey) G940 I really have some history with this thing: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Logitech-G-Controllers/Logitech-G940-Software-Update-Official-notice/m-p/644552#M9090 Currently I am thinking about disassembling it to build something like PeterPs famous FFB stick. -Mathias
  21. It should even be easier using the Warthog stick, since the base is a lot smaller and thus simpler fit into a box. The whole setup only uses the base of the Cougar/WH as means to keep the buttons of the stick usable. All the rest is handled by the two FFB2s. -Mathias
  22. I have been looking for ages to mod something better on top of my FFB2. A resin based Huey grip would be just perfect :-) -Mathias
  23. Hi Robos, you should first check if the cause is your joystick or if it is a problem with DCS. If you can reproduce this behavior in the Windows with the gamecontroller test screen, its an issue with your joystick. If not, its an issue with DCS. If it turns out to be the latter, check if you have multiple axis or keys bound to the cyclic control. If so, removing them would probably solve your problem. so long Mathias
