  2. I have noticed that first spawn is always position 1. If you immediately change slot, you get put into a slot either forward or aft of the island. This is with 4 ai aircraft set to take off.
  3. Many thanks! Out of interest, what might keep certain statics from displaying properly on the deck? I have made a template, yet not all of them show?
  4. Currently, they man all 4 catapults. Say you wanted to place statics along CAT 1 ( a common place to park aircraft in real life) , can we make it so they dont direct anyone there or appear there? Same for any of the other catapults..... Or is it always 4 teams, one for each cat ?
  5. Hi, are there any better quality static folded helos etc for use on the deck? I have done some looking, but cant find any as yet. We have nice S3, hawkeyes, Prowlers ( using VSN mod) and the helos spoil it a bit......
  6. Hi ther e are several threads all touching on this subject and its still not 100% clear to me. Please can someone from ED or the community who knows, post a marked up picture of the deck showing clearly where you can and cannot place AI flights or static objects for both recovery and launch operations. I am trying to establish a layout for both that allows the new deck crew to function, AI flights to take off and land and have some realistic static objects populating the deck . Thanks
  7. Hi, looking at building a mission that has a realistic launch and recovery cycle in it, and wondered if I saved a track as a mission, how easy it would be to do this and add another slot……? Is the scripting simply too complex to start removing stuff?

  10. So what is the best way to design a mission with AI aircraft taking off alongside you to avoid the issues of spawning in the way of or on top of AI aircraft? How do you avoid these issues? And which option is best to choose for start up? From parking or from the ramp? From runway puts you on the cat, yes? What is the logic that decides where you spawn? If I understood that it would help……for example, if I put a static or ai jet on every spawn point, except one, and had one client jet, would it spawn in that free point? Does the mission editor understand if the spawn point has an object on it?
  11. Is there a way to determine in the ME where you will spawn when creating flights? I am trying to avoid spawning on top of or in the way of previousl;y placed AI flights on the Supercarrier. On land you can pick the parking spot, this does not seem possible on the SC? Thanks

  14. Is there anywhere a picture or something that shows where on the deck you can and cannot place statics to avoid blocking issues? Also - I have seen the pictures of the fixed routes in the guide, how wide are the routes and happens if one is blocked? Does the jet being directed just stop (if it’s AI) ? Can you get around this if it’s a player jet by avoiding the obstacle, will the directors pick you up again?
  15. I am currently, with the help of Tomcatter87 trying to build a basic supercarrier mission with working new deck personnel and a carrier deck with various statics and AI flights. The mission works as expected in single player, but if I use it in multiplayer, spawn points vary and aircraft take off differently and get stuck. Skins also display differently....which is strange...for example, I used the Sea king mod for the rescue helo and it displays different skins in single player and multiplayer.....WTF!!! Whats going on here and why? Enclose the mission for anyone interested in taking a look...... carrier crew test.miz
  16. Hi, thanks, but are these new missions you have made? Or new missions added by the update? Or old missions from pre update? Its really not clear how its all supposed to work....for example, I am running a mission on my server that used the Stennis. I wanted the new features, so changed out the Stennis for CVN71, made sure to change all the names and edit the waypoint actions accordingly.....it works, I have deck crew, but all my static objects on the carrier deck are gone.....not sure why that is? But I imagine it is something to do with the new features....I guess my question is more to do with the mission editor and spawn points etc rather than exactly how to use the new personnel..which , as you say, is pretty obvious and intuitive.....
  17. How are the new deck crew features and animations such as the direct to parking service working post patch? I mean, if I have a mission ( lets say for example, Banklers excellent case 1 trainer) will they automatically appear within this and start working? Or does the fact that a lot of things are dependant on static objetc and spawn points placement mean that for these features to work properly, they must be installed while the mission is made? Is there a guide anywhere as to their useage witin existing and new missions and templates for the carrier?

Hi, with the new system, am I correct in assuming that this will ONLY be appararent in any new missions or campaigns made post the patch, as ithese effects are dependant on settings being applied within the mission editor.....? And if we want to add cool stuff to existing scenarios, we will have to go back and add these changes in the ME for each mission?

  20. Could not see the green screen option? Can you help? So I guess my initial post is half answered now, I move on to using the MIP when in VR and if this is possible and if so how. Currently it would appear to be almost working, with the only issue I can see being that the lower corner of any screen in DCS is unaccessable by mouse, which means I cant press "OK" and "Exit" when using the options screen etc or join servers. Anyone else noticed this and got any fixes?
  21. Thx, that sorted it I think, I now have all 3 showing up. But SimAppPro is still not showing the correct numbers and although it shows the correct layout of screens, the apply button is greyed out and its asking in red to go to windows display settings and confirm / apply there.....which I have done, but it still wont let me move to the next step....
  22. I mostly in VR but do use the displays sometimes to look at. Recently, not sure exactly, I noticed that the displays were not showing the MFD's of the jet I was in as usual. They are all working in that I see my desktop on all 3. However in windows display settings, only one shows, instead of the 3. I have re installed the winwing display link driver, restarted etc, but still the same. They are all plugged into the same USB outlets they were. I have tried unplugging each in turn. If I unplug one of them, then windows detects the two additional screens and numbers them 3 & 2. If I plug the third back in, windows changes to only showing one screen plus my main monitor and numbers it 314. It does not appear to matter which combination of screens is plugged in for this behaviour to occur...... Can anyone explain whats happening and why and how to remedy it? Edit, in SimAppPro, in the set scaling and layout section, the screens are numbered incorrectly ( 6 for main monitor instead of 1 and 4 & 6 for the 2 MIP screens, instead of 2 & 3 which they are in windows. I dont seem to be able to change these anywhere...... Thanks
  23. Hi, getting an issue with the cold start F14's, no matter which one you choose, if there are 2 of you, they always spawn right next to each other. Mu buddy and I have both had the same issue whereby partway through the start up, the wings will open ( without us making that happen) and smash into the adjacent jet, causing a fire etc. How can stop this? Is it possible to edit where the jets spawn, so they are separated? As I imagine teh wing sweep thing is nothing to do with the actual mission......
