Me too...after the Afghanistan release and the slap downs for voicing my concerns, I am going to wait and see. First time ever I have done this, always pre ordered before, but past years experience has left me jaded........

After 2 years of fault free operation, my Quest Pro has in the last few days thrown a black screen mid flight with a message about losing tracking a few times. These episodes usually last 3 - 10 seconds, . One ending in VR crashing. I have never had this before and am a little mystified, as the headset uses internal cameras for tracking........so how can it lose tracking? Any ideas?

OK, I have repaired my quad views install ( gave me that option or remove when I ran the installer..) and re installed quad views companion, enabled quad views in both launcher and in game. I have set the companion to show the purple dots so I can check its working, but am not seeing them or any foveated area when running VR..... I appreciate we have diverged from the original topic, but got any ideas why its not working and what I can check? Thanks!

OK, thanks, regarding quad views, I was currently not using it ( the mbucchia version I mean) as I think it stopped working a update or 2 back....I was using a code line mod by sandman ( think thats right?) which sorted it, then next update it broke again.....I would like to make it work again, whats the process for this ? I just re enabled the launcher and the option is there now, when I enabled it, there is an exclamation mark and it says " warning - openXR layers detected" for XRneck safer , quad views foveated and open kneeboard. Do I need to do anything to sort this warning out? What is it for? Thanks!

Hi, I dont use the launcher, read it hogs resources, so just use the shortcut. My buddy does and he has additional VR menu items relating to quad view, that dont appear on the in game VR options menu. I have disabled teh launcher, so how do I re enable it to check if these options are there for me and second query, why are the options not available through the standard in game options menus?

As title and following from the discussions on the subject of how the released section is currently in terms of quality, I would like ask that instead, is there any way that ED can show us what we can expect once its all completed and fully utilising all the new tech? Will there for example still be low and high detail areas, where will these be if so, etc etc. And have you thought about giving us a roadmap - even if its only approximate. Thanks!

Well, I have crashed it 4 times in 4 flights......its certainly got some interesting quirks. It is very easy to take off too much collective and have it drop like a stone.....it also seems to be difficult to pitch up in forward flight like other Helos, but I guess down to the weight and mass. Overall, very different to the other small helos I fly in DCS ( Apache, Huey, Kiowa) I think it will be fun learning how to fly it, shame there is not more instructional stuff around although I guess stuff will start popping up on you tube soon.... -

Thanks guys, very useful......so the router would purely be to connect the headset to my PC....? Does it (router) need to be connected by cable to my PC? As not sure what wireless capability my PC has...

So thanks to the great efforts of creators such penecruz and lloyd80, we now have a variety of different FOBS etc to use. However, I am unsure exactly how to use what we have and how the different templates affect each other...if at all..I know I can stack templates over each other, has anyone done the work yet and can report which play nice etc,w hich have scenery issues that wil need triggers etc? The other issue is that due to units being hidden, its really difficult to see in the ME what you have got when imported..... I also have a template I downloaded with lots of FOBS, but I cant find teh details or thread and so dont know what it includes etc....I attached it below, can anyone help? Afghanistan FOB's.stm

Like others, the latest meta update caused me issues, I had to disable QVFR again, which I did have working via sandbox code's .dll fix ( thanks mate!) Reading other threads, I wonder if it is time to try virtual desktop? I run a quest Pro, can I still use my link cable with VD? What are the pros / cons of using it over the meta software? I looked on the VD website, but the cable version download was specific about the supported headsets and the Quest pro was not listed, only on the wireless version...... Thanks

Can we ask that you guys ( and maybe rope Mr Goodnite in) can work together to get all these bases finished and issued on one template? That would be awesome.....

Since last update, ( and only had a chance to check inthe F4) I seem to have lost functionality of my my bindings on my winwing throttle panel. If I go into controls settings and press the switches, the line jumps to the previously assigned switch binding.....but there is nothing there in the box (joy 24 etc) and if I try and re bind it, when I press the switch, ( or any switches) it does not register in the assigned box. All looks OK in the winwing software and I have tried rescanning devices...... any ideas?

On the last page, there was talk of the satellite textures and not looking great. I believe ( and do correct me if wrong) that the South Atlantic map has been made using similar technology? When that was released, again, I was pretty dissapointed, for all the same reasons I have been similarlky dissapointed by Afghanistan. However, the SA map has been significantly updated recently, to the extent that its literally almost unrecognizable.....stunningly detailed mountains and hills, glaciers, see below: Now if this can be achieved using the same technology, then it should be possible for Afghanistan to look as good as this ......Lets hope it does not take as long as Razbam took to get the map to what I call an acceptable standard...... I have been exploring it more, in particular the "high detail" areas round the main bases and cities and di notice one thing that also irked quite a lot....again,. I hope its going to be updated, but there is very very high number of houses / compounds with what looks like Nissan huts in a kind of blueish colour.....( dont have a picture to hand but can post one..) These dont look like any kind of Afghani houses I have seen and there is literally hundreds of them.......what are they supposed to be and why so many? In general, I think the houses and compounds look pretty good, but these really spoil it....A comment or explanation from someone at ED would be great....

Hi Lloyd, yes, thank you. The way the missions, templates and assets are currently worked does not make it easy to cherry pick the best and combine them, which is a shame. Keep up the good work!

Hi Lloyd, first, thanks for this great work! I am trying to get all the FOB and bases currently being produced into one base mission file. Its a little tricky as there yours, mr Goodnites ( any crossover between what you both are doing?) and I think one more guy. Some are .stm and some are .miz files. Am I correct in thinking if I save the .miz file as an STM, so I can load it later, it will mess the triggers for the scenery? Also, its difficult to see on my mission where everything is as all the assets are hidden. Is there another way apart from clicking each static individually and making it visible? Can you easily add a name on the map to the template at the location instead, rather than have all the assets visible ? Finally, no idea on this one, but if we get when you and the others are finished, all these bases and FOB's, will it mean the performance is really hammered if you have them all on the map? Will we need to be selective and and only add ones relevant to our local mission area do you think?

Yes, just wanted to applaud the efforts and say thanks, its now finally all I had hoped when I initaiily purchased at release. Looks so good now and is the new benchmark I think. Well done team Razbam & Specter, thanks again -
Using multiple templates

Tried with mixed success...I opened each template ( they were .miz files) and saved them as templates in turn. Then I opened the mission I wanted to have operating over the top, and imported each of the 3. One did not seem to import and the mission ( a scripted Convoy escort) did not start as it should....so I guess something conflicted with the script or triggers and no idea why one of the bases did not import..... -
OK, for those interested, I have managed to regain DCS in MT mode and pretty much the performance I had before. Following various suggestions here, ( thanks all) I removed myself from tehe Beta, which made my Meta software update and install new drivers. I removed and re installed QVFR and used the sandbox code .dll fix. Once this was done, DCS starts OK in MT and I am back with performance from before...happy bunny! Thanks for the advice.

Hi, is it possible to combine several templates onto one mission ? for example, found some nice template for Bastion , but also some others ...if I wanted all on one mission, how would I go about that? Thanks

Thanks, I am no using the toolkit, but I am , I think in the beta program...( something to do with eye tracking I think? ) let me try that
