¡Buena iniciativa!
  3. Thank you all for your answers, you have been very helpful. Now that I know about the scripting and units can and will be removed from the mission planner if deemed neccesary, I will then study it as it should be, the latest intelligence provided by ground troops and scout units before you take off. Any more comments are welcomed of course!
  4. Thanks for the reply, so the mission planner as shown in the game is what the mission designer wanted you to see, interesting. In that case I think I will study the mission planner each time, so I can plan my attack routes. Once I am flying, I have "realistic" map with no units except my own plane. I know that is not realistic, at least in the Su-25, but I'm still getting familiar with the Caucasus Map.
  5. Hello! I have been playing the Revanche campaign and so far I was doing fine, until I got the first "real" combat mission. I tried to complete the mission 4 times, and in all of them I just didn't know where or when I had to strike, and I was always shot down by a combination of BMP 2 30 mm hits and light AAA. BTW those BMP2 hit like trucks! So I proceeded to look at the mission planner and I saw where the targets were and how to prioritize targets while staying outside of AAA envelope. I left the gunships take care of the rest, after focusing first the enemy gunships. So now I have to play the next mission and I wonder if looking at the mission planner is "Cheating" or not, since there I have all the starting positions, formations and such of targets. I wonder if it is "realistic" to watch it since I guess it is supposed to be the scouting information from FAC and ground forces. I never fly with tags on! Just in case you wonder. Thanks in advance.
  6. It seems you are applying too much the brakes before slowing down. If you do a proper approach you should have enough strip to just aerobrake to 200 km/h and then use parachute. Wheel brakes should only be used below 100 km/h or emergencies. The only time I popped my front tire was in a bad approach where I landed almost on the left border of the strip, applied brakes and tried to turn the nosewheel. It didn't work and I just broke the tyre and bended the nose wheel strut.
  7. So I have been practicing the Vikhr multi launch in one attack run. After a few passes I'm able to consistenly fire 2 and most times even 3 missiles per run. Thank you very much for all your tips. I just posted here to help a fellow Su-25T pilot and I left with way more knowledge than I brought. Truly a nice community.
  8. Some interesting tips here folks, thank you very much. But I wonder how is possible you fire 2 or more missiles in one pass, when you have to wait for the impact till you slew the shkval sensor to the new one. Do you mind it is possible to launch from max range, wait till the missile hits, then slew to a new target, lock and fire a second missile, even a third? I have to practice that :joystick:
  9. You don't need to have the target on circle all the time. The proper procedure is as follow: - Switch to GA mode - Select the Vikhr ordenance - Turn on the Shkval sensor, search and lock the target. - Turn on the laser when you are at missile max range. Watch out with laser cooling times, remember to turn it off between attack runs. - Steer the plane so the Vikhr sight is on the target diamond. - If everything is fine you should get the LA signal. Launch the missile. - You can now change course, but remember to keep the Shkval sensor (and the laser!) on the target until the missile hits. You don't need to keep the Vikhr sight on target after the launch. In fact once you launch the sight with switch to the other launcher station, so it will be off target anyway. Once you practice it you will see that the Vikhr is an amazing weapon, and you get 16 of them! PS: If you still have issues, I really recommend you to fly the Vikhr tutorial mission. It is well explained.
  10. Pausing the lesson is currently the best option. It is not the most stylish one but it will do. It is what I do with the A10C and Su25T lessons. So far I'm doing fine.
  11. Do you place the Vikhr sight on the target so the missile can ride the beam? You need to lock it that way. Locking the Shkval alone with the laser is not enough. You have to steer the plane and place the Vikhr sight on target. Then the seeking head will lock the beam and ride it to target.
  12. Thank you both for your reply. So it's not me, it's the mission which is bugged. Great news! I think I will try the campaign now. Fly safe o7!
  13. Hello everyone. After doing all the training exercises, some of the practice missions and flying around a lot I thought it was time to do a proper mission. So I went to the mission menu and picked the "Command post strike" mission for the Su-25T The mission is all right. You go there, you have some clouds but clear on target. It is day time. I lock the command post with the Shkval, get the AC and the LA signals, I'm in range, leveled at 4500 M, I drop 1 even 2 bombs on the same target. And they never hit. I've made this mission 5 times and I couldn't get a single hit, I only finished the mission once because I ordered my wingman to attack the post and he scored a direct hit. Am I doing something wrong or the Kab 500 kr is just that innacurate? Should I just use laser guided missiles for this mission?
  14. I made the switch from Steam to Stand alone this weekend, and I just copied the whole saved games/DCS folder. Everything was there, system settings, profiles, logbook pilots, campaign progress... You can't go wrong if you copy the whole folder.
  15. I'm currently enjoying DCS World with my computer, which can run the game at med settings no problem. With the new upgrade to 2.5, my computer can't run it. 15 min loading time and slideshow even at bare minimum settings. So my question is simple: Will I be able to keep 1.5.8 in Steam so I can keep playing the game? Or should I switch to Stand alone which I hope will keep 1.5.8 as a separate installation and I can keep playing DCS that way? Thanks in advance!
  16. With the new requirements does that mean that I won't be able to play DCS anymore? is there a way to keep 1.5.8, even if it is discontinued? I have a GTX 660 vcard which currently runs the game smooth at med settings. Now minimum settings are GTX 770.
  17. I finally found where to bind the pinky button in the X52 to the modifier list. Now it is working better than ever. I finally got the CMS in the stick and the Slew control in the Throttle hat, with the two sliders for precise slewing. I don't like using the mouse stick in the throttle, so I didn't go that route. Thank you very much for your advice, now it is time to practice a bit until it is second nature.
  18. I never thought of using the pinky switch as a modifier to have 4 hats instead of 2 in the stick. That is a wonderful advice. Thank you very much! Unfortunately I haven't been able to use the Pinky button as a modifier. It only allows me to add the usual Ctrl, Alt, Shift etc... Thanks for the advice anyway. I'm doing the starting tutorials and so far my current setup seems to work all right. The slewing controls with the two rotary sliders are a bit hard to get used to, but once I get it it is very smooth.
  19. Hello everyone! I bought the A10C before DCS world was even a thing, but at that time I was afraid of the time investment needed to enjoy the game, and my fulltime job schedule was not very friendly so I left the game rot in my Steam list. Now my schedule is more friendly and I have time to invest in learning the plane as it deserves, so I have reinstalled again and plugged in my new HOTAS. Then spent 2 hours trying to configure it and to my amazement, I'm short of hats and switches to bind and I have to make some choices. :joystick: After this little introduction this is my question: Which hats would be better to bind to my HOTAS? I have a X52 Pro, and as it is now I have binded the TMS and the DMS to the two hats in the stick, the collie to the throttle hat, the slew control to the two rotary switches (vertical and horizontal) and the China hat to one of the base switches. I miss having the countermeasures switch in the HOTAS, so I binded to the good old WASD keys which as second nature, and the rest of the switchs (pinky, boat and mic) are just binded to keyboard. Is this setup all right? I know that everyone will have its own setup, but I won't like to practice with this setup to find that DMS is seldom used but CMS is very important to have on stick, or that china hat is not needed but boat switch is used most of the time. Thanks in advance!
