Now you can escort Harriers in full carrier wing sorties and use their TGP to lock on air defences and pave their way, so the harriers can bring more ordenance. Lovely indeed.

In my experience with AI both in single player or MP, once they get a lock on you (you are detected via any ground or airborne radar) they will engage you even under your own SAM umbrella. I mean, I remember playing in one of the popular PvE servers and the enemy bandits were trying to shot me down even while I was landing at the base with the friendly Patriot battery launching missiles at them like crazy. But I can also tell you that you can use the Causasus valleys in the middle section of the map to just fly undetected by the Awacs. It is good in PvP servers where people use AWACS calls to locate you. Sometimes they get a clean picture, even if you are close, just because you are sneaky. Or you can fly cold war era planes. In my experience both the 21 and the F5 have ridiculously low range detection, sometimes poping up at 15 miles or less from me. Not fun when you try a low altitude interdiction...

Help regarding UH-1 Full ground tax procedure!?
Eviscerador replied to Irishlad200000's topic in DCS: UH-1H
With the Mi-8 and the kamov you can actually taxi to the runway like any plane, but the two skid helos (Huey and Gazelle) can't. You can either taxi in GE to the runway or just take off and call it a day. I usually do the later. -

Piercing fury and The enemy within. Both are great on their own. The first is more "realistic" and the second is a bit more cinematic in the mission objectives. On another hand, all the qualification campaigns are top notch, but they are not combat missions. That being said, both the georgian hammer and the stone shield campaigns are perfect for begginers but for experienced players they can be a bit "arcadish" or lacking in some aspects.

The A-10C drifting (both on runway and in air)
Eviscerador replied to Fred00's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
If you found the hog really sensitive to asymmetrical loads, you should try the Harrier... -
I think they said all the new stuff (rain droplets, wing vapours, full HD cockpits) are scheduled for all the old modules as well, and I guess they will release everything in a single package.

I'm being nitpicky here, but I'm loving the campaign very much, the voiceovers, the setting, the developing, the different missions (kudos for making a lot of different missions with the Eagle lack of multipourpose!) so I think I need to report this in case it is a small bug. Spoilers from here When I finish the campaign I will write down my feedback in the proper topic, but so far it is really nice!

Huey for realism, Mi8 for realism and power, Gazelle for fun, Kamov for dakka. Up to you :)

Yep I can confirm that. -
Pilot logbook and debriefing page missing after update

I have the same issue. I have tried several instant missions for several modules and the log is broken, both the logbook and the post battle results. -
Has a release date for MAC been announced
Eviscerador replied to Akula's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Don't think so. MP server UI in DCS world is so bad that people who want to play MP in populated servers will have to search for info anyway. Oh and by the way, first time is always hard for anyone, even for the best player in the world. In my first blue flag experience I was shot down twice without even knowing what hit me. 2 days later I was stalking helos and killing low altitude jets in a Gazelle. I'm still really bad at A2A (I prefer ground pounding) but you don't even need to be good at it. Just install SRS, and learn how to communicate with your team mates. Multiplayer 1.0.1. DCS community is friendly enough to teach most of the new MAC players the basics. And they will be spamraaming your arse in a few days! :megalol: -
It is a pain in the arse, that is for sure. I have the beta client for playing MP (only caucasus map and the few modules I play in MP) while the rest of my modules, all maps, campaigns and most of my time I spend it on the stable client. I'd like to play on stable only, but unfortunately most of the populated MP servers are on the beta client, so even if I don't like it, I have to accept it. By the way, I'd wait 2 more weeks to play the Cat on MP if it arrives free of bugs.

That is not accurate. They removed some multicrew functionality, so aside from the M variant, in all other models the copilot cannot fly the helo, just control the radios and the nav system (and of course being another pair of eyes. Flying the M model is fun in multicrew, with the pilot in charge of flying and the copilot in charge of the comms, navigation and missile. I really hope they give multicrew to the Hind as well. In the Mi-8, well, it could be fun but I don't see it very important, since the copilot aside from using the nav and bombs doesn't have any other "fun thing" to do. And don't get me started with the flight engineer  Sure the REAL thing is different, but in the game the different tasks are more limited.

You will soon discover that this module is the most deep, precise and realistic out there so far. Someday we can dream the Hornet reach the same level of deep. It usually take months to be able to fly the Hog properly with all the systems. I've been flying it for years and I still discover some new options from time to time.

For the deviation angle it seems it has something to do with the magnetic variation. In the Harrier you can choose between true heading or mag heading. In the Caucasus true heading line is 7º to the left of your magnetic heading (the one given by the compass) iirc.

Spring Tension Mission 9 Not Working
Eviscerador replied to VAF [136] Striker's topic in Missions and Campaigns
I finished the campaign yesterday. All missions completed without a bug (aside from friendly helos crashing...) If your engine get fire you may be overheating it. If you fly too high and fully loaded (like in this mission) you need to turn off all the auxiliaries (dust protectors, Icing modules, cabin heater...) and be very gentle with the approach and the lift off. It is hard, but doable. -
Mission 9 "Whiskey" trees problems with 2.5
Eviscerador replied to Bigozor's topic in Missions and Campaigns
You have to edit your logbook (make a backup first!) with an advanced lua editor (Notepad++ is the easiest one) This is how I do it. I start the mission, end mission and accept the mission as failed. That will reduce your campaign score and you will have to repeat the mission, but it is faster since the logbook strings will be already there instead of having to write them. Open the logbook. You have to look for the huey campaign inside, then you have to go to the 9th block which will be the 9th mission (if you haven't repeated any of them) It will show "score 50" just switch the score 50 for a 100. Then look for the 10th block, it will be a "stage 9" and a mission name with a 9 on it. Just change the 9 for a 10 in both. There are tutorials in the forums where you can see the actual strings and blocks. It is easy to do. -
Ed fix the Cockpit Lights asap please
Eviscerador replied to derbynew's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
So far the only problem I found with the BS2 module is the already mentioned AP lights working on reverse (lighted when off, dark when on) and that the nav system buttons also don't work properly if you use the english cockpit (for some reason they work properly with the russian one) It was a real pain in the arse to learn the helicopter first because I thought the AP was on and the helo was woobling like crazy while with the dampening channels "off" it flew like a dream. Now that I already know how to use it properly, and I'm learning how to get all the juice from the ABRIS and the Nav system, it is a beast. I'm loving it to bits. Looking forward to the cockpit textures rework for the BS and the Hog as well! -
It is my most flown vessel in BF just because of that. Not only you have capture and cargo potential, you have RWR and you can defend yourself. If only the FM were a tiiiny bit better...

As far as I know, the missile warning system doesn't detect any kind of IR signal, it just detects a smoke plume but it can't discriminate between friendly and enemy missiles, IR, laser guided or radar missiles. In fact I remember one mission in the A10C where you work with a pair of AH-64 with full hellfire loadout. Man that missile warning got crazy! Unfortunately the Hornet doesn't have one.

Most military vehicles have water crossing capabilities and all road transmissions, so yeah, as long as the water level, current speed and river banks consistency is good enough they will cross in real time (I expect caucasus rivers to be similar to those in central europe) You can set a trigger so the convoy stops when the bridge is destroyed and waits for X minutes until they cross. Don't ask me why, I'm not good with the mission editor, but it can be done.
