Nice video. I find interesing that they are using full HEI belts in Afganistan. I guess they don't expect to find anything more armoured than a Hilux there...

Spring Tension "Night Convoy" mission
Eviscerador replied to Scarecrow's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I just skipped the mission all together. It doesn't help that rockets are just hit and miss all the time and the 23mm gun can hit the trucks and still don't kill them. Someday when they fix the wingman I will try it again. -
Nope, it is the same good old Vulcan as in most US fighters since the late 50s.
-
Good. By the way if you keep trying to reach Mozdok the mission has different ways to tell you "not to" After the generator and the vibration you will suffer a catastrophic engine failture and a fire, which will force you to make an emergency landing on a single engine at Beslan. It was fun though.
-
Next time just switch off the dust protectors and the icing and tune the engine to reach 95 rotor RPM. You will lift off as usual. You know the problem with the mission starting with the ramp already done is that you have to check everything so it is ready as you want it. In a standard chopper it won't matter if you have everything on (as long as it is not very hot!) but here with the old lady, you need to nudge everything out of her.

I guess it will be a basic autopilot, so when you are heads down in the RIO seat the plane still follows the nav route and doesn't crash into anything. But don't expect him to fly the plane, dogfight or land a CASE III.
-
Good, any improvements on this module will be welcomed indeed! I have to say that for me, as a casual user, the FM is challenging enough, but if they can keep polishing it it will be wonderful.

I was going to answer but I guess the guys at ED did it first. In my experience I find that low light scenes at dawn and dusk create reflections and warm colors like in the trailers. Also shadows on the map and trees which give a lot of volume and realism to the trailers. On the other hand, if you get the same shots at noon, everything will look plain, since you don't have reflections or shadows. The quality is still there of course, but the full illusion of "epicness" is created with the light play. By the way, really good job in the production team!

In my experience the Huey is also the best helicopter trainer. Gazelle has Sas channels AND autopilot which will drive the helo on rails once you get over 60 km/h Mi-8 is heavier and more difficult to control at low speeds. At high speeds thanks to the simple autopilot it is a joy to fly, and much faster and powerful than the huey. The Kamov is a class on its own. With autopilot trim, several attack autopilot modes and coaxial rotors, it is like flying a fixed - rotary wing hybrid. The closest thing to me is the harrier.

If it works like the previous Helicopter bundle you will receive an additional Su 33 module that you will be able to gift to a friend or to a clan mate. Of course, your friend can also gift you a monetary compensation for your troubles. "wink wink, nudge nudge" All you have to do is not activating the module after purchasing it (which you won't be able to do anyway since you already have one activated)

Try full power at 25.000 feet and you will feel the shake! At low altitude you will never reach critical speeds, but above 20k feet it is easy to reach the mach limit. Or just go up and dive :)

IIRC it was a real hog pilot who said that in a Q&A on Hoggit. Anyway the Hog is slow because it was designed to be slow. It gives you plenty of time to align, execute passes and also gives you enough endurance to just keep orbiting the AO for hours in case the guys in the ground need you. Believe me, nothing is more satisfying that flying multi squadron missions and listen to everyone calling bingo and queueing the tanker while I'm still over half tank and going smoothly.

You can overwrite them, or in case of Markpoints you can store up to 30 I think, and the next one will just overwrite the first one in the list. Since you can store over 2000 waypoints, it isn't a problem. Anyway I've played all campaigns and missions for the A-10C and at most you need to create 10 or 12 new waypoints with coordinates, so you have plenty of spare space.

Mission 9 "Whiskey" trees problems with 2.5
Eviscerador replied to Bigozor's topic in Missions and Campaigns
This issue still remains. I just skipped the mission after crashing 3 times. Watching the old 1.5 videos it seems you have to be so low you will always clip the trees. So it is either you remove the trees with the mission editor, you skip the mission altogether or just wait till they fix it someday. -
I don't know about AA missiles, but if you try rocket launchers you will be amazed. It is like having speed brakes in the wings. If you want to compare the drag, you can always test the top speed with pylons and missiles, then jettison the missiles, test again, then jettison the launchers. That way you will find where is the drag coming from.

The new deferred shading messed a bit with the MFCDs. They need a bit of tweaking both in day and night. Anyway with the BHOT I found that leaving the MFCD in night switch works perfect on night. I never use WHOT to be honest, with BHOT everything is just better.
-
It also happens in the Hornet color display. I guess something went wrong with the shading in the new version of the game. The hornet one is getting better every patch, so I hope they will also fix the A10 ones. Someday... The Ka50 one is working fine though...

1. I believe HARS doesn't store waypoints, it just gives you position. But I'm not sure, when I lose the EGI I usually RTB using TACAN, because it is really rare to be hit and only lose EGI. 2. Correct 3. No, you can't. They need to be feed from the CDU GPS system 4. Sure you can, just drop them in CCIP mode, either direct or indirect.

I guess for the next bundle you should make a proportional discount for the modules you already own. Blizzard does that with their bundles in their games and it is just perfect. Look at me. I only have the Gazelle. I'm thinking about buying the bundle because 15€ per helo is quite a good deal. But since I already have the Gazelle that makes the deal 20 € per helo, which is also good but I don't want the helos so bad. I could buy the Harrier instead. So I'm waiting for a friend which is also thinking about getting a new helo so maybe he can be interested in the Gazelle I will have duplicated. Should you made the bundle "dynamic" I already had bought it. Think about it with the marketing department.

Deadzone of 1 and curve of 15 in all axis.

A2A Refuelling F/A-18C Hornet. What do you think?
Eviscerador replied to Mule's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Well done man! keep training and you will fill up in one go no problem. Also remember, always join on the left and exit to the right. You did a straight approach. Usual protocol is to fly formation on the left with the tanker to match speed, then go slowly to precontact, fill up cut engine and rejoin right till you are ready to go / your wing mates finish. -
I've done all my AAR with a X52 hotas no problem. I guess the curves are you main problem. Also, it is not said enough. DON'T CHASE THE BOOM! Fly with the tanker.
-
AAR is like beer. At first if tastes bad and you don't like it, but the more you try, the better it tastes. Now I'm doing AAR just for the sake of it. I love doing it. I've already refuelled several times in the Hornet, the A10C, the A10A and the Eagle. I even tested the AAR bug and refuelled with the Hornet from a Boom KC-135 and with the A10C from the drogue of a KC-130. First time I did it I crashed into the tanker. Second time it took me 10 minutes and 2 pounds of sweat to just make a connect. From there on I keep improving until now that I can keep refuelling even on turns, and I can fill up any plane in one go most of the time. Don't give up.

F5 Tiger 2, Mig 21, Mirage 2000 are full fidelity fighters.

The point about the hornet is being able to fulfil AA and AG roles. For me the hornet won't be complete till both modes are fully fleshed. And since I'm more of a ground pounder than a sky surfer, I don't like the AA priority. But I guess for the Eagle pilots it will be welcomed.
