with any luck the Sominum VR1 will replace my reverb G2 within a few weeks. This maybe optimistic but ill let you guys know if it works out.

Hello I have a reverb G2 that is probably about to get replaced with the VR1 which will have eyetracking. I have not used quadviews before but I see in the change log its been implemented into the Vr settings menu. What does this mean for a G2 user or a new user who has not used quadviews before? Do we need to hunt down any 3rd party programs at this point to make it work or is it finally all self contained? I could set this up to work with the G2 right now? Thanks -Gun

I was looking at the logitech Chorus offear speakers. But this seems pointless now until I figure out how to handle the headstrap issue. If you think you'll be using the stock headstrap take a look at the chorus they seem interesting.

I got the one with the Cameras... the fully loaded deal so yeah im going to have to figure out how to make it work. I went into this fully expecting it to be a 90% product leaving the last 10% (the hard part) to be solved by the end user before its a viable product so im trying to get as much info about possible solutions to all the issues so I have at least some base point to work off of to guide the last part of its development.

Have you tried it out? Does it feel uncomfortable or front heavy after a few minutes? EDIT: I see that it is uncomfortable. I guess the question now is, do you see a way for this to be solved perhaps with a counter weight or different strap design. Does the current design for the head strap feel like it could fit better? What are the issues with it?

VRFSG posted an actual first impressions. Most note worthy is the introduction to the software. This is looking encouraging for those of us who dice rolled on the preorder.

who are you and how did you get this? They aren't shipping yet and don't have certs for electronic whatever last I heard (like yesterday) which was delaying shipments as I recall.. Also if you could post a 3rd picture of it on a tile counter top at a different angle with a spoon on top ill take you seriously but with 1 post I'm assuming this is just a pic you found or a tester sent you.

Hp Reverb G2. Use it on a PC that you wont update windows on when microsoft goes to kill off windows mixed reality. You probably can find them used for a fair price.

With a little photo shop help you could move this to the equator. Mill scale.

Also don't be too quick to switch back to selecting your weapon or those get yeeted too. Make sure you actually hear the tanks drop. If you switch back to selecting ordnance once jester calls tanks then they get dropped as well.

This almost seems like a bug to me and I think its been a day 1 issue. I mentioned it in the engine feedback thread as well. Closing the canopy effect world volume but not engine volume.

I think the choice is made in a effort to bridge a feedback gap. We cant ask question to the rio, we cant feel things, we can't look in the mirror and confirm that coordinates are being entered and a thumbs up when complete. So some audio feedback is appreciated even if its not realistic.

after seeing the F-4 I would love an improved in-cockpit texture/detail. For whatever reason even on day 1 they looked slightly "flat" I'm not exactly sure what the issue is but the result is it looks a bit "cartoonish" The F4 cockpit is a clear generation ahead it looks fantastic.

One issue I have noticed (I think it was always the case) Opening / closing the canopy effects world volume but not engine volume. If the canopy blocks out a lot of the noise on the aircraft carrier it should effect engine volume to some noticeable extent. In a quiet environment with the engines at idle if you close your eyes you cant tell if the lid is open or closed.

I fly Vr with G2. The new update seems to be working well for the most part but I did notice some apparent lag when flying over a cloud and looking at the edge of the cloud you can see it step forward many times a second. Not sure if its just on the afghan map or global. I dont recall seen this before. The new Afghan map is awesome looking by the way. I could see that being fantastic after a few updates. Lots of variety and good textures. Also cool to see the sun and moon phase GUI I developed still working well -Gun

well I took a gamble on the Ultimate edition. This is most money I've ever bet on what is just slightly better odds than a dice roll. A company with no track record selling a previously shady product that offers no returns and a sub par warranty. This is a wise financial decision just like buying a project car is a wise financial decision AND just like the project car I expect to get beat up every step of the way for at least a few months. The pretty high initial cost then the high cost of all the **** it doesn't ship with that I need and then the high cost of trying to make it all fit and work right....its going to be a long road chasing the carrot but I'm gambling on its potential and my ability to access that potential. To the OP if you could watch over this one for me...much thanks I know you would have probably got one yourself... wish me luck boys!
