  4. freefall in a 0 drag environment is about 10m/s per second. Does it look like its trying to account for some form of drag??

  7. I suspect that the draw distance issues with grass and clutter is an engine or DX issue. I'm not expecting this to be solved by a simple slider adjustment. They can likely squeeze another 20% out of it but its not going to yield the 10X + needed to get a reasonable extension that make pop in less distracting. I'm guessing this will be addressed in V3.0+ as it's been unchanged since 1.5 or before DCS world (somewhere about there)
  8. Indeed Kapitan! Its a noted improvement for sure. Im glad to see things moving in the right direction but I can still see lights fade out and end. Im also aware that part of this issue appears to be VR related. Extreme range in 2d still allows for items to obviously draw in but I think this issue is made more obvious in VR as "extreme" in VR does not seem to be the same as extreme in 2d. I fly only VR but I fly mostly online with friends who fly 2d and they typically can see something like smoke draw in a bit further than I can. I'm really hoping that this can be addressed in 3.0. Perhaps Vulkan or whatever else their doing can allow for some ranges that allow things like lights and smoke to draw in more naturally. Pop in especially with lights has been terrible since before DCS world and only in the last year or so has made any noted improvements. I feel it's still way behind.
  9. Yes you are correct it sucks a bit less on other maps... Its still my least favorite thing about dcs. I still consider it inadequate even on the best map, it's less than half of what it should be assuming clear air.

  11. The extreme draw distances are pretty not extreme at least in VR, Smoke is not even drawn in at like 15 miles, lights have become a bit better but not great. I would also like to know if this can be improved.
  12. This poll doesn't seem exhaustive enough. With reverb g2 things seemed best before they messed with anything. Right now the dots are too large but this system does seem to work better as it transition from a dot to a model. Previously The dots would be too large and then the larger model was very hard to spot maybe because of the way the dot changed. I could only spot well if the target was more than 10 miles out (but that might have been 2 updates ago) In the last update I think the dots were more reasonable but the system was still best in my case before it was messed with

  15. with any luck the Sominum VR1 will replace my reverb G2 within a few weeks. This maybe optimistic but ill let you guys know if it works out.
  16. Hello I have a reverb G2 that is probably about to get replaced with the VR1 which will have eyetracking. I have not used quadviews before but I see in the change log its been implemented into the Vr settings menu. What does this mean for a G2 user or a new user who has not used quadviews before? Do we need to hunt down any 3rd party programs at this point to make it work or is it finally all self contained? I could set this up to work with the G2 right now? Thanks -Gun
  17. I was looking at the logitech Chorus offear speakers. But this seems pointless now until I figure out how to handle the headstrap issue. If you think you'll be using the stock headstrap take a look at the chorus they seem interesting.
  18. I got the one with the Cameras... the fully loaded deal so yeah im going to have to figure out how to make it work. I went into this fully expecting it to be a 90% product leaving the last 10% (the hard part) to be solved by the end user before its a viable product so im trying to get as much info about possible solutions to all the issues so I have at least some base point to work off of to guide the last part of its development.
  19. Have you tried it out? Does it feel uncomfortable or front heavy after a few minutes? EDIT: I see that it is uncomfortable. I guess the question now is, do you see a way for this to be solved perhaps with a counter weight or different strap design. Does the current design for the head strap feel like it could fit better? What are the issues with it?
  20. VRFSG posted an actual first impressions. Most note worthy is the introduction to the software. This is looking encouraging for those of us who dice rolled on the preorder.

  22. who are you and how did you get this? They aren't shipping yet and don't have certs for electronic whatever last I heard (like yesterday) which was delaying shipments as I recall.. Also if you could post a 3rd picture of it on a tile counter top at a different angle with a spoon on top ill take you seriously but with 1 post I'm assuming this is just a pic you found or a tester sent you.

  24. Hp Reverb G2. Use it on a PC that you wont update windows on when microsoft goes to kill off windows mixed reality. You probably can find them used for a fair price.
  25. With a little photo shop help you could move this to the equator. Mill scale.
