  1. In RL, yes WMD-7 use image pattern to lock/stabilize. In fact, it will require x of xxx lines to identify/track target, an easy and very conventional way.
  2. Sorry to tell you, no game use real image patterns for optic sensors, all use magic object/area lock.

who knows the RL data. we have to use pure math and guesswork without SME's feedback.

I'm not worrying whether ED get all missiles work correctly. ED handle all missile will have some side effects: weapon SMEs may have to be silent or just walk away from DCS, it will be a big loss.
  5. From a sample Smarter Sam script https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2176117&postcount=11 missile type for detection is hardcoded, should add LD-10 to the check if _SEADmissileName == "KH-58" or _SEADmissileName == "KH-25MPU" or _SEADmissileName == "AGM-88" then -- Check if the missile is a SEAD
  6. SP mode auto-launch maybe bugged, we'll look into it, no need in AG mode. Anytime you are painted by ground/sea radar, and it's the main emitter(with a cross in HSD), heading to it, launch your LD-10, that's all.
  7. SP mode can auto-launch LD-10 if RWR detect a 'missile launch' signal in RL. in PAS mode, you have to manually launch LD-10, that's the main difference.
  8. you can designate your SPI with any sensor, LD-10 in ACT mode will fly to your SPI without emmiter info fed in. You have SPI range info, so it's possible to loft. LD-10 will active seeker for emitter search when SPI is within a reasonable range(with the help of LD-10 onboard INS).
  9. In PAS/SP mode, the RWR highest emmiter's type/AZ/EL info is fed into seeker, the seeker will search the target by this specified type in the specified direction. If the radar of emmiter did not stop, the seeker will lock it. LD-10 have to search and lock the specified emmiter, lofting is not a good idea, emmiter maybe out of scan cone in lofting.
  10. PAS and SP always aim the highest priority(Main, with cross) RWR emitter, in PAS and SP mode, RWR information is fed into LD-10, target is not so random like ACT, you can be sure what the target is.
  11. In SP and PASSIVE mode, target is caught by seeker, no range data available, no loft can be applied. In ACT mode, range data can be used for loft.
  12. It's implemented but disabled in code. No hurt to prepare something for the future, right?:smilewink:
  13. It's not 'detected', it's sent by shooter. RWR will scream 'missile launch' if signal sent by shooter, unless we ignore it in our implement. Many parts of avionics in DCS are interactive with the 'world' and dynamic, not fully controlled by one side. That's why we need Open Beta for mess MP test, not all bugs can be caught by a small dev team.
  14. RWR is a passive receiver in DCS, no magic in implement. how it screams depend on what signals the shooter's radar send. STT+link signal may cause 'missile launch' warning.

It's not the right time to draw conclusion today, but we are sure ED have improved the missile dynamics to a pretty high level of detail, a great step forward for us all.

AIM-54 lost 1M (4.6M to 3.6M) when switch from mid-course to end-game, a very hard turn, is it correct?

the answer: national standard we do not use 20,000m @2M vs 20,000m @2M.

Some old INS will drift 3nm~5nm after 1 hour flight, even such INSs are good enough for ARH missiles, because AA missile need only 2-5 minutes flight time, ARH seeker can get target with 100-200m INS drift error in end game(target range 10 to 15km).

    1. 100s is what we saw, but many people claim 'battary can not better than AIM-120'. So we test what will happen if battary lifetime 80s, it seems nonsense missile lost electric while it still have many M numbers. I do not think this behavior can pass any national test. 2. CCM adjustment according to AIM-120 value, the test show it do few help when been chaffed, they use different FM anyway. 3. adjust supersonic a skew to decrease trans-sonic Cx a bit, suggest from ED. 4. FI_search is the seeker cone, we adjust it for avoid strange behavior when missile is close to target with low M numbers, it will constantly switch state between target locked(lead turn) and target lost(turn to last known target position). this adjustment do no help. I think these adjustments are released by mistake, especially FI_search, it's not the real number, for internal test only.
  20. Reason: model thieves air units have to be paused or canceled.
  21. 1. it is, do some test 2. masking will break lock, if target cannot be acquired after predict timing 3. yes, break lock in close range is very hard, unless LOS rate is very high 4. TGP A-A uplook will get very steady lock 5. you get more power from engine, your gas tempreture have to be higher or/and more high tempreture gas, you can not get both at the same time 6. mig21 RCS is 3m^2, JF-17 still have RCS 3 m^2 after so many improvements, especially the inlet(30% - 50% of RCS is from this part), rethink about it. 7. from what you said and your attitude, I think you will never buy it.
  22. simple checklist page implemented, but not detail enough and not tested.
  23. JF-17 current status is very close to block II
  24. do not turn on the 3rd knob(left to right) on UFCP, it's HUD standby mode for HUD failure.
  25. JTAC need a standard work flow, heavily rely on radio. In DCS, there's 2 kinds of radio mode: real and simplified, mandatory setting by mission designer. real: manually tune your radio to freqency of the unit you wan to contact , then Press 'alt_\' To Talk simplified: press \, will auto tune your radio to the freqency of the unit specified by comm menu, auto start to talk
