Now that's a persuasive door-to-door salesman
-
Give it time, CA is still in a beta phase after all. The pedigree of DCS World and other related modules shows ED's commitment to detail and I'm sure CA will get the same amount of polish in time.

Lol, as much as I'd like to see it happen, I doubt ED will do anything like this. ED doesn't even update their own Dev Journal. This community also has a reputation for misinterpreting info and announcements, so ED has become a little gun shy about any info they release so their words don't end up twisted to mean something that was never intended. EDIT: ...but if ED does want to start updating the Dev journal regularly, or implement some form of info stream to customers, CCP's dev blog is a good one to take some pointers from. Updated regularly by employees with a multitude of job functions like software development, customer service, network engineering and so on. It gives the customer a really good insight to what is going on within the company while not revealing anything the company is keeping under wraps.

I am surprised this post has hit 14 pages.

He beat me to it.

According to what has been said by ED, you will receive it when it is released.

The subject has been debated a lot in the forums for some reason. Even though ED has never changed their stance. [shrug?] So now that this one is done, lets kill the DCS:F/A-18x, DCS:F-16x, and DCS: Bicycle debate while we're at it, hahaha. Disclaimer: ED has never announced any of the above. [joking]...but anyone playing the Combined Arms beta knows without a doubt, DCS: Bicycle is next...right? [/joking]

Thanks for the confirmation Weltensegler. Hopefully this will finally put the question to rest until ED says otherwise.

Maybe I missed it, but last I read, people who pre-ordered A-10C were still getting the Nevada content without having to pay anything else. Those who bought A-10C AFTER it was released will still need to pay for the Nevada content. Correct me if I am wrong.

How do I know if I'm running this game X64 ??
zipdigital replied to fastfed's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Which did you install? My 64bit install is not in the x86 folder. I think you are running the 32bit install. Edit: 64bit will only benefit you if you have enough RAM. I should also mention I am going through the training missions again after the vox hotfix and all is working fine. -
RAR is just as much a standard as ZIP, and can be more compression efficient. I reccomend 7zip for windows. Free and no bloat.
-
Perhaps this is a placebo on my end, but I noticed on my quad-core, the A-10C standalone always used core-0 for the game application, and core-1 for sound. The problem is core-0 was always reserved for the operating system (win7 in my case). So DCS and Win7 fought for cycle times. Now with DCS:W, core-3 (the fourth core) is at full load during game-play, so I assume that is handling the client. Core-1 or 2 hovers around 50% which I assume is the thread for sound. Perhaps 1.2.0 is a start in the right direction for true multi-threaded processing? I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, so I will also suggest that perhaps DCS:W simply chooses cores at random. Edit: Perhaps this is why many have seen performance increases since 1.2.0? I still get low frame rates in certain scenarios or scenes, but overall 1.2.0 has run much better for me.

If it helps, a free alternative to WinRAR is 7zip. http://www.7-zip.org/ I find it superior to WinRAR not only because it is free (GPL), it handles many different types of compression formats and is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Also seems to do its job much faster for both compression and decompression, but your mileage may vary. All you have to do is right-click the compressed file > 7zip > extract here. And you're done.

I'm glad you confirmed that Mastiff, perhaps that is Roiegat's problem.
-
Are you in Windowed mode or full screen? Try toggling between the two? I noticed another user having trouble with USB MFDs and they had a problem with the "disable aero" button. Might be another thing to check, though possibly unrelated.
-
Hmm, not sure what to suggest, then. Hopefully a more knowledgeable fellow will chime in...

Quite the setup you have there! I'm jealous! As for the monitor issue, I am afraid I have not owned anything of the sort. To get everything to work right in the standalone versions did you have to edit any LUA scripts? or did it just work out of the box? If any editing was needed, things may have changed in DCS: World and need to be re-edited. Beyond that, I am at a loss.
-
I have downloaded and am currently seeding the A-10C 1.2.0 module (and matching DCS: World). I cannot vouch for the P-51D torrent. I'm not sure why you would be denied unless maybe your ISP is specifically denying torrent traffic?
-
Wait, are we talking about your primary monitor that you control your computer with (viewscreen?) or an aftermarket sim product like the Thrustmaster cougar MFDs?
-
Unless I am missing something, your best bet is to connect with a DVI or HDMI cable to the monitor. If it is an older video card or monitor, a VGA cable is the next best bet. (With DVI adapter if needed.) I haven't really heard of a monitor powered by USB unless it is for some type of touch screen, commonly they are not the greatest image quality something like a flight sim...or any other game for that matter.

Hah! Nice.

Wow! thanks Wags and ED team
zipdigital replied to 71st_Mastiff's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Seeding for now, Thanks ED! Can't wait for Nevada. -
Hilarious, thanks for the vid! I loved the "You will die here" video, some interesting sounds you guys made while dodging the incoming fire, haha.
-
Was afraid of that. Time to set everything back up. Thanks for the confirmation cichlidfan

Is there a way we can import/copy over the key commands/HOTAS settings from the standalone version to DCS World's A-10C module? (Or any other module for that matter, like say BS2 standalone copied over to the BS2 DCS:W module) Thanks in advance.
