  1. The file to edit for bombs release is: DCS World\Sounds\sdef\Aircrafts-DropWeaponIn.sdef Then adjust the gain to the desired value. Original value is 0.85
  2. I would'nt mind if they implemented a FOV slider (with numbers) in the options. Should be standard in DCS 2.0. Edited all my planes to 10 - 90, and now use zoom out instead of zoom normal. Different planes had different FOV as standard it seems. Was bugging me, especially in the A-10C. Thanks! :)
  3. Thanks for the update. Is this something that will come with DCS 2.0 ?
  4. Hi again. I've changed some liveries (on my end) to make it more different from each side. I now have camo/agressor for Red, and mostly clean on Blue. I noticed that you have the same camo, regardless of side, for the MiG-21. Could this be changed to: Northeria, for blue VVS 185th, for Red Please :) Sorry for the last post which made a big mess. :music_whistling:
  5. Indeed...:megalol: What i did to rectify this somewhat, was to edit the windows and gunsights in GIMP. Just "erase" the whole layer to 50-70 Opacity. Effect: still some dirt, but not as pronounced.
  6. You have plans for F-14 Grip (and throttle?) Warthog Compatible? That would be a must buy when the F-14 by LN comes out. :joystick: Might have a look at the F-18 aswell. Edit: ...and without a doubt a slew replacement for the warthog throttle!
  7. Just ordered the FSSB R3. I fly mostly MiG21, Su27, Bf109,Fw190, Huey,Ka50. I've been told it was an awesome feel flying with it, and excellent precision/smoothness. Even when flying 'copters. I'll report back when i get it and have tested it out.
  8. Contemplating that idea myself. I've been thinking of printing an overlay for different planes that i can put over my keyboard. Got a steelseries apex that has alot of extra buttons and macros that i use for just Mig21 gear and radar modes. Has 4 different layers that you can color. Thinking about red for weapons stuff, green for systems and avionics and yellow for whatever :) . Layer 4 is just reserved for lights off. Just an idea at this moment.
  9. So would replacing those skins on my end, you use on the server, with agressor type or similar be doable? Or is that something that is set up for validation check? I guess it makes it easier to balance teams when you mix up the planes for each sides. ATM i fly mostly the -21. So if i'm stable and my target is stable i can easily IFF with radar. A small bank, even if lead pursuit flying close, radar barely work. It's when you suddenly meet another jet (in a valley or something) that it's difficult to visually IFF. Is this not a problem on the newer type Jets?
  10. Are there any difference in skins Blue versus Red side to make visual IFF easier? If not, would that be something you would consider? Agressor livery for F15 on red. Neutral colors su-27 on blue, for example. Sorry if this is in effect, just have'nt flown as much to notice.
  11. Nice skin! I would'nt mind having that as a livery:pilotfly:
  12. Really nice thread this. Interesting read. First outing on the 104th with the 21 i only had basic understanding of the systems and workorder. That quickly resulted in a death after i got too eager to find enemies with no SA so to speak. I then focused on the 21 for most of my DCS flying, and flew lots of training missions against AI. Just to get used to ID'ing and pressing switches correctly. Also fidning out the most logical position for the switches. Then last weekend, i felt i was good enough to take it online again. Kept low within the mountain range between Maykop and bulls on the coast. For some stupid reason i had mapped the IFF check away from my HOTAS, which made it hell trying to ID jets when i accuired them. I chased a couple of jets around (most of them friendlies), getting locked i hid low and inside crevices. After making a small run north again, i got a lock i thought was low. Made a u-turn and started to snake my way south. Saw an opening to turn back and engage. Just as i got my eye on the enemy jet he had already turned around from following me, i quickly engaged IR missiles (think i had R13-M1) and fired off both 2 seconds apart. Then i tried diving down again, saw the kill, but got tagged by (wierdly enough the same guy who got me last time :megalol:) another enemy jet.
  13. Really worth the wait! Got mine a couple of weeks ago, and it's a nice feeling to have complete control over the rudders and brakes now. I have mine mounted on a Playseat Revolution. I had a Saitek Flight Pro before. I'm really looking forward to what he can do if he starts building sticks aswell.
  14. Settings is very personal, and are set on a different of factors. Feel, Accuracy, Range from "camera". To name a few. Follow the video posted above, and you will be fine. Sure alot of fine tuning is recommended. Play around and see what the different settings do. I can post mine, but you will probably have to tune that aswell. One important thing: Before you start, make sure the lights are sentered on the crosshairs when you look from the camera. I have mine setup level to my ClipPro and about 1.3 feet. I always tick the exclusive box. Edit: Switching buttons, especially alot of them, i usually pause the TIR. Which i have setup on the mic switch (recenter and pause, up ,down) DCS.zip
  15. What about making the spectator mode look through the RIO/Co pilot/WSO seat(if it's not occupied by a player? Or even spectate from the cockpit? (don't know how spectating works, never tried)
  16. I feel it would just complicate things. Besides, DCS World comes with a free SU-25T & Unarmed P-51. (Regarding making RIO free) Usable joysticks are so cheap nowadays, and you DON'T need TrackIR to enjoy flight(hell. not even a joystick). That's for people who really gets into simming. I'ts an addon for intermediate and up. Are there stats on how many people that use game mode versus simulation? I'm sure there has to be stats on how many of the licences go online? Would the target audience for a free RIO (if you look away from the already free stuff in DCS World) really be that big to make it worth it?
  17. I'm interested in getting this cleared up aswell. But i'm assuming it's one of each, 'cause why make two if they are not considerably different?
  18. Your quote looks to be the missile(same sentence) I belive this is for the aircraft: - Highly Accurate Flight Model - Based on Real Performance Data
  19. Wow! :pilotfly: I'm watching Top Gun later today! Fitting video in regards to the announcement: (Grumman F-14 Tomcat in HD)
  20. Woke up, went to check forums. OMG. If it really is an F-14, good times ahead. Got that nostalgic Top Gun feeling(also Fire at Will game)
  21. Adding to what is here already. I find it's easier and just as good to just keep it auto rpm while takeoff and landing. But making it manual when landing will help you brake faster. Also stick back when landing, it will help stabilise you. :smilewink: Lock your tailgear when not turning. Lots of work with the rudder(more than P-51 and FW190). Full right when start of takeoff, then ease off little by little. When ready to takeoff push stick forward to not make it stall.
  22. Nice to see you back in action again. I've been following your videos since your MiG21 previews, and looking forward to new ones, once it's out of beta. :)
  23. I'd vote to keep it realistic. You can assign button(s) to move your view insinde the cockpit, with and without TrackIR or similar. The assignment is called "Cockpit Camera Move "direction"".
  24. Yes, this one's reported. Twice :) Link to the original thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=134866 Have not tested if it's still in the 1.2.4 Beta
