  1. Exactly. Whether ED figures out a way to make a 2 seater work or not (which is highly possible and probable) is dependant on them getting a contract and putting the effort towards it. I still think that having a single and 2 seat of the same plane would be awesome for teamwork and training (especially training, with refueling, TOs and Landings...)
  2. I just hope (I think I said this already) that whatever they bring out, -15,16,18..., that they make a single and tandem seat aircraft. It would be great for training, plus coordination. If you don't have someone to fly with on a mission, take the single seat. If you do, take the 2-seater.
  3. In thinking about the next aircraft, whether it's the F-15, F-16, or F18, I hope it can have a 2 seat version to at least give the capability of training new pilots to flying or DCS sims. Maybe making a single and two seat version of whatever comes out (F-15C/E, F-16C/D, F-18E/F), that will allow for both types to be in a mission, and pilots can choose to fly alone or with someone in the 2 seater.
  4. Put it into Admin mode on start, and that should clear it. I'd definitely be interested in a radio mod for the presets!

  6. How about the O-2 for AFAC? That was probably the best Birddog aircraft (and my favorite... got to fly one a for a few hours).
  7. The older F-22 Air Dominance Fighter simulator (from the same company, but out before TAW) allowed you to step into the controls of an AWACS and "run the battle". You could then switch into an F-22 and take control which was good if the AI pilots were getting their butts kicked.

So I have a question... if they had a beta 5 with a lot of the changes in it already fixed, why couldn't at least a small beta 5 be released for us instead of the Steam guys getting all the new stuff sooner? Couldn't those things that had issues be added into a beta 6 and we get what's already done, or does that make things harder? ... it seems like trying to get Beta 6 as perfect as possible even after the Steam release, that we're having to wait a lot longer than was first thought.

  12. Knowing how sad it is that this is the same way I feel. It's the only other thing to occupy my time after complaining about the FPS associated with firing the gun and leaving the sim alone to look for Beta 6.

I had the same thought when I read his statement... but then I thought "what if he were flying around in something like a Hornet or Tomcat, or even Intruder with his boom constantly sticking out. Then Amy could be a KC-135 with the basket and he would then need to plug the boom in..." well, I'm sure you get the idea, hehe.

  15. I really didn't want to get involved in this poll, but in my little opinion, I'd say it would probably be an aircraft that matches the other side of what we have now... AH-64 (OH-58D would be cool too and can be single pilot operated), or SU-25. This way the helo guys have an adversary, as do the warthog pilots. I'm sure though that they'll make a fighter so they have then 1 helo, 1 attack, and 1 fighter. Which one they make I don't even want to guess, but if they do happen to make an apache, I'd definitely fly it along with my hog.

  17. 32 here and I check around 1000 times a day, but I'd rather Beta 6 comes out working than having to get a patch for Beta 6 because we wanted it now instead of when it's done. Don't get me wrong, I'm on your side folks, I would love to have Beta 6 this second (please? hehe), but I have faith that it'll come when we least expect it... (I hope).

  19. ... after flying a sortie and pretending to hit the tanker thinking "I wish Beta 6 was here so I could hit the tanker", then landing and alt+Tabbing out to check to see if Beta 6 was out... then going back up for another sortie while my wife complains that I do nothing but fly.

I really would think it should be an easy thing since there are already presets built into the radios... that we could change them to what we want and save the file, so our radios have our own presets in them each time we start... I tried looking through the .lua files, but didn't find anything that helped. Off to look some more :book:
  21. I hope it's released soon so I can get back down in the dirt shooting the gun instead of always hanging out above 12k dropping JDAMs and LGBs. So, to recap, I want to shoot the gun and then go hit the tanker, to return and drop JDAMs and LGBs. hehe
  22. A wish to go along with my thread... Can we please have an option of setting preset radio channels where the jet will have those presets at every start?

True, that radio presets are typically for Sqn A2A, but for a virtual squadron with many pilots, it would be good to have it set in the UHF or FM already with some frequencies where if you are part of a certain flight, you can simply say "press 4" and change to preset 4 without having to say the frequecy... as it's already in your jet.
  24. I would think it should just be a matter of setting the presets in a config file somewhere... the part of the MP that I was thinking about was due to setting the presets in the ME for a mission, but suppose someone wanted different presets, can they be edited... if I'm making sense.
  25. Thanks for the replies guys... but will that work for MP missions and the like? Suppose a few of us on TS3 join a server with a mission running without the presets in the mission... and we want to use our own preset comms as per our SOPs. Will doing that work or... hence my reason for asking for an external way to do it.
