  1. any chance of being able to do this in MP?
  2. So, fix them up yourself. I've taken just about every SP mission and made it MP usable. There's also a section on the main homepage called "User Files" which has quite a few very good MP missions. If you want to change any mission into MP, just add aircraft and make the client. Simple as that. I'm actually working on the campaign missions to turn them into MP for my squad. The only limitation here is that ED is focusing on the aircraft. There's nothing to say you can't edit premade missions. Hell, I don't know what the campaign missions have in them, I just add a few extra jets for my buddies and go fly. All of the targets are hidden, so I have no clue where things are until I see them from in the pit.
  3. Viper, you are the man! That worked great, and not sure why I hadn't had that issue before. Thanks for the super fast reply!
  4. The patch is working fine on my side except for an AA issue. I've tried taking the best picture to show it. In the release before the patch, I didn't see any jagged edges, but now they are all over the place. I haven't changed my settings in the CCC or in the sim. Any ideas what I can do? (all settings in CCC are on high). It might be hard to see in the picture, but looking at the UFC or stuff in the distance will show the jagged edges.
  5. Anyone know if the Simkits gauges can be used with DCS A-10C? Although they are pricey, I'd probably pick up a couple of the standby gauges.
  6. Looking forward to it. Let me know if you want me to announce our other idea.
  7. I've been able to hook up fine, but sometimes the tanker will race off. The only issues I have while tanking with a buddy, is when the tanker turns, it almost does a snap roll instead of a steady roll rate. Also, once connected or in Pre-contact, the tanker will not turn until you abort contact... which brings me to my last issue. After I'm done refueling and my buddy wants to link up, I have to abort rejoin (should be an option to say finished refueling or something) which the tanker will then snap into a turn to make it back towards the orbit track. He'll also put the boom back up. It would be great if when my buddy calls (or I call) and the tanker says "Chicks in Tow" that he would also say "Proceed to Holding on the Left". When the aircraft being refueled calls "finished", the tanker will then tell the aircraft being refueled to "go holding on the right" and call the next in line. I'm sure the coding for that would be tough, but it would make it look cooler and feel more realistic.

  8. Is it possible to get a thicker somewhat lasting smoke on the Mavericks while they are burning gas? Looking at videos with the MAVs, the smoke is definitely thicker and sticks around for a couple more seconds...
  9. That's something that has bugged me since the first Lock-On. When even shoulder launched missles are fired (ok, most, not all) they leave a smoke trail that can be tracked back to the source even after a minute or so... but in the sim they disappear rather quickly.
  10. Funny, as I was installing this I was thinking the same thing (and the other guys in my squad were saying the same thing too). Quite a few F-15E pics mixed in with the warthog, but no other planes really... hmmm..... :music_whistling:
  11. I know this has been brought up before, but now that A-10C is released, can we get a paintkit? I'm working on an all new scheme that I found online on an A-10, and painting isn't too difficult... but it would sure make life easier if I had a paintkit with the layers. I know, this should probably be in the wishlist area... but I'm sure it would never get seen in there...
  12. There must be a way to make an extension of sorts so the the display doesn't sit directly on the PCB... this way you can set the PCB back an inch or so out of the way of switches and screws. I may consider buying one of these and trying to fit it to the EW panel I'll be getting soon and let you all know how that works out. Sorry if I'm stealing your thread Pit, but anyone know where to get cheapish flat-top toggle switches used on the EW panel and elsewhere?
  13. http://www.crystalfontz.com/product/CFAH2002Y-GDI-ET What about an LCD like this one? I know the PCBoard is too wide for using it on the EW panel (already made some measurements) but still... I'm sure there's a way to take it apart and make it onto a new PCBoard that would fit better... right?
  14. Geez, I think most of us would be pissed if they did that (unless a beta was released tomorrow, regardless of the number, as long as we get our stuff). If there's another annoucement about further delays (unless it's something big to fix) I have the feeling there's going to be a major uproar. Lest I say it again, dropping us a partial beta with certain fixes is better than making us all wait with no word for a full beta or release candidate in a couple months.
  15. As long as you understand my point Mower, to keep the Hoff crap out.
  16. Guys, can you please keep this thread to stuff about beta 6, and leave the crap photos of the guys out of here? There used to be a time when we would post information or complaints, but this is seriously getting out of hand.
  17. Ok... ED Mods, can you please move all this Hoff crap into a "Special Mower's lover" thread? I understand that he's trying to annoy you guys enough to release beta 6, but come on! @Mower: Dude, you really need a life... and I'm not trying to be funny.
  18. Nope, not been hit by AAA either, but I'm sure that rounds that hit different areas of the plane sound different. I've been flying for the last 15 years (no not just sims) and can tell you that in the cockpit of a jet or prop, things that bounce off the plane sure do sound different. It's also that in the Sim, there are different size rounds striking at different angles/velocities... Not every round strike should sound the same.
  19. You could check on the Open Cockpit site for the 7-segment displays. http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/digits-assembled-units-colour-amber-p-280.html?cPath=24_56 That's probably the way I'm going to go... but what about the EW panel? I know some guys on viperpits did it with LCDs, but I can't get any info from anyone over there about it...
  20. I'm not sure if this has been posted yet as I haven't read through the 191 pages so far... and search didn't bring up anything reasonable. One thing I'd like to see... well, hear... is when getting shot at, the bang sounds are random. Basically as it is now, each time you get hit there's a single bang sound. What about if you get hit by the tail, I'm sure it would sound different than getting hit near the cockpit. Also having a few different sounds for the same area would add some randomness to it instead of always hear the same old bang.
  21. On your TGP MFD, on the right side will say LSR. click the OSB for it until you are at IR, then again at BOTH. This will allow you to see the laser with the NVGs.
  22. well, why not though. If FS2Crew can create a voice activated copilot that runs certain things, I'm sure ED could create a voice activated AI that works on his own unless you tell him to do something.
  23. True, and I would love to have a fully functional 2 seater, which could be also used as a trainer. I do see issues with having a 2 seater where an AI would then take the place of a missing pilot or nav, but that's where having a single seat option would benefit.
  24. I think you guys are missing the point that I made the other day. If ED could make a single seat (F-15C, F-16C, F/A-18C or E), then it would be great if they could make the 2 seater version (F-15D or E, F-16D, F/A-17D or F) of the same jet so we have both a single and 2-seater. Here's how I see it would work. A pilot joins up with a NAV in a 2 seater. If the NAV should exit, the pilot (as in real life) can still do the basic functions, but would otherwise bug out and head home to grab a single seat version. If the Pilot should exit, the navigator has the choice of moving up front, flying from the back seat, or exiting to grab a single seat. I understand all your points being made, but my suggestions were towards having 2 versions of the same jet to allow single and tandem seating. For those who only fly alone, fine, fly the single seat. If you have someone to fly with, fly the tandem. Of course, adding in an AI into the backseat would be ok, but I'm sure there would be plenty of issues there with the AI not doing what you would expect or want it to do.
  25. I would definitely fly as an IP/Nav if it made for good teamwork... and I know a few others that would gladly fly in the backseat working the systems rather than flying (since they are better flying a bus in FSX than a fighter).
