One thing you must learn with ED (we learn that at least during 1.2.1 patch) is each time you want to manually reinstall a new mod, you MUST deactivate your copy prior to modify your files. ED said no activation would be lost during 1.2.1 install, but they were wrong. They gifted us a free activation to apologize. It's not going to happen again. Auto-Updater will do the job until now. It enable fast patching, and very low bandwidth consumption. So remember, DE-Activate your games before messing with them. (Starforce.exe is location in Programs/EagleD/DCS/Mods/.../bin/... .exe if this copy is active, you should be able to desactive clickng the blue text link) Not 100% sure, but you still can reset all activations once per year.

For once that EthernalN (almost) agrees with me on a computer perf, i will drink Champagne for our sake ! I took 2400mhz ddr3 because i didn't wanted to discuss more with the seller about RAM. But it's not faster anyway. And i don't fly M$ sims ;)

Confirming the Engine is definitely dead. after hitting Fire Exting, the crew will refill the can. But your engine will not startup anyway. You've still got solution 2/ good luck

Well... i don't think there's something related to your post ErichVon. the Engine Bug is whenyou stop the startup procedure below 1mn05s. no matter how you start the shark. I personnally start the shark like a psychothic mind, clicking all switch in any order, and i'm taking-off in 1mn35 with 1 engine, 2mn with 2 engines (hud not ready,abris not ready, INS not ready, even if i click on those during the APU startup.) And I never had a problem so far. It's always good to know how to fly within 2m15. ;)

3-/ i've played many MP mission recently since 1.2.2, and as i usually fly at 320kph at 10m AGL, i experienced some nasty crashs. i always hit re-fly in briefing, and popped in a new shark. So it's not for all of us at least.

I'm guessing if you're using NVG, that's because you can't really see outside. And if your eyes can't see, what does a poor CCD can do? imho, the Shkvals can't lock. ===> your AI is blind (and dumb anyway with datalink atm) am i right ?

By .lua you mean : keylist ? i touched twice in my life the lua in DCS. - create a freaking dynamic weather manually - installing JTAC & AWACS mod for BS I have a mac keyboard, and i never touched any key in DCS. So my question : are you playing with a joystick (lol question, but, yes i can pilot with arrows keys too) ? which one? SST for X52 is great, and doesn't care about DCSW updates. So, are you looking for a joystick profile instead ?

Oh? never heard about that yet. try move away your DCS prefs folder in "saved games", you will loose your keylist, but this is temporary. i'm not a pro concerning settings of DCS

The only flicks i've seen in DCS are Afterburners. thought it was my ATi, but my nVidia do the same. And i can't help you on your i7 880 cuz i'm new to this core i OC world. just let you know i don't boycott your other thread. ;) As for noise... you should look for completes tests... but anyway Asus DCU2>> all

Hi Squid. Well, you should know that 7870 > 660 But 660 = PhysX (lol feature imo) About drivers, i would say Nvidia, because i had so much troubles with games and my 4890. Catalyst is a piece of **** from 9.2 to 12.x at least. Plus, if you want silence, go for asus dcu 2. You can't imagine how glad i am without this F-15 turbine in my room. So my vote is Nvidia. But again, it's me. (and no, can't help ya with your i7 880 ;) )

At first sight, i would say : NO, you've killed your engine. (because of the exhaust needle rising before RPM) As this is probably a lurking bug, when you yell "repair", the engineers will respond to you nicely : it's all right dude ! this is pretty well explained here, with a video. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1577028&postcount=96 Right now you have 2 solutions : 1 - the mighty start solution : Plug your shark to ground power Crank start your engine to clear the fuel Start. Be aware that if your Engine's RPM stays a 0, this is already over. 2 - Learn to fly with 1 Engine, and takeoff (hover) without EEG switch :D 3 (bonus) - If you have a repair possibility, this could work : Hit Fire Extinguisher on the desired engine, this would definitely kill it. then it should be repairable. I'm at work for next 2 days, can't test it. Good luck !

The freeze hangs me about 1-3 secs with my new system (i7). I should try it on my old HDD & Xeons
